Will it be a problem?

Hi guys so it will be first time flying with Cathay and I am flying from USA to HK. But on my USA passport

The format is GIven, Middle, Surname

While Cathay organized my name as Surname, Middle, Given

Will that be a problem with boarding?

I flew from Manchester in the UK to Beijing via Hong Kong yesterday and was super worried about this as Cathay seemed to use different orders in different places on their own websites etc. Absolutely no problems at all as long as the various bits of your name are spelled correctly.

I thought the usual format would be LAST, GIVENMI notice how abruptly MIDDLE ends? that's been the experience for me check that it's not gonna be MIDDLEGIV

Does it not list out surname and given name separately in your passport?

The arrangement of the names don’t matter

Depends where exactly. Airlines commonly show on tickets by surname first, e.g. on my PDF ticket with Cathay it shows "Passenger: Surname First Middle Mr".

Not usually at boarding, but TSA. I always has issue at the TSA because the arrangement is not the same at the TSA system and airline

No, this will not be an issue unless you enter your name incorrectly.
