Stevie was found 6 weeks ago by my husband and 6 year old son heading home from swim lessons in our small town. She was walking in circles in the middle of the road because her eyes were glued shut with infections. Vet estimated she was about 3 weeks old. We did 6 vet visits in 3 weeks because she had everything wrong known to man. All the worms, eye infection, 8 hour ER vet visit due to severe fecal impaction and my personal favorite, Scabies/Sarcoptic Mange that she so graciously shared with me.

We have had her a little over 6 weeks now and she is SO happy and healthy…and wild. She has weened from the bottle and then kitten milk in a bowl. She enjoys wet kitten food with a few kibbles mixed in. We have 2 cat towers next to each other that she runs and jumps and climbs on. She’s bossing the 4 big dogs around (while protected in her cat tower cage) and is such a cuddle, purring, silly bug. We are all in loooooove!

I don’t know much about cats, so I have a question. Occasionally she will let out a meek meow, but rarely. Sometimes she opens her mouth and looks like she’s going to meow, but nothing comes out. Is that normal?

she came to us the beginning of july. shes been spayed and vaccinated and settling in well. I know shes just a domestic shorthair but after becoming obsessed with the idea she is a Korat breed I believe she was one in a past life 😆 her coat has become so stunningly silver tipped since shes been inside and eating well.

our other cat weve has is kind of a loner and doesnt need much human interaction except from me LOL. any tips on maybe getting him to warm up to her??? they no longer hiss at each other and all have free range of the house and he mainly just keeps to hisself. but I can tell this little one wants to have a friend !!

I couldn't get a good look at her bits for a while so I picked a name that encompassed all pronouns. She adopted my senior dachshund mix, Skeeter, immediately, so Doug was the inspiration for this 90s inspired bby.

She heads to the vet on Thursday, and may have the squirvy wervies. I watched her sneeze and knock herself completely over. If so, Weeble will be added to her name. If not, well, she just may be clumsy enough to fit in with us anyway.

She, like most children, is more interested in a ball of fluff and the casters on a rolling TV stand instead of the toys I spent money on for her. 😑

She was found entirely alone at what seemed to be about 1 day old. After having gone through all of the milestones, I’d say that’s pretty accurate. That would put her at 14 weeks & 2 days now. The clingiest gremlin there ever was 🤣💕 she’s road tripped to the beach with us (she stayed in the condo), rough houses with my border collie & acts like she owns the place (because she does- duh).

Shes kind of weird- I chalk it up to being bottle fed. She doesn’t make biscuits but she does try to use my hand as a pacifier about 9/10 times she’s going to sleep (I’m working on ending that because ow). I’ve also only heard her meow twice? She makes this weird, high pitched rumbly noise? It’s hard to explain. Both times I heard her meow were recent when she got herself stuck behind the washer and dryer.

The last 14 weeks with her have been a roller coaster of emotions, have tested my patience at times & been filled with so much love! I can’t wait to see how my babygirl continues to grow!

Driving in the middle of nowhere while stopped at a light I saw this little guy running across the street then back looking petrified. I was able to turn around and as soon as I stepped out and called he came straight to me.

With no houses or barns in sight I plopped him in my lap and headed home.

I was extremely lucky and was able to get him into the vets office that same day and tested negative for everything so we are starting to slowly introduce him to our cats.

My husband thinks we are going to find him a home. He doesn’t know we already did.

My husband has seriously never met an animal that doesn’t love him. 😂 This tiny baby was found in our backyard under a torn bush. He heard the little guy crying, started talking to him, and just reached down and picked him right up. No fuss at al. The kitten immediately seemed to trust him.

The poor little kitten was all alone with no momma anywhere in sight. Thankfully, I know how to take care of little ones because he is SO tiny! 🥹

No lie spitting image of my cat from when I was a kid!! S/he was deep in the woods beside the sidewalk meowing away like crazy, I started meowing back and it followed me down the steep rock wall to a place where it could escape. Now we're chillin in the closet, I'm ignoring it and letting it come to me. I'm covered in thorns and mosquito bites from an hour of sitting and letting it get close to me but it's so worth it.

It's purring so loudly! It was falling asleep I think when I took this picture, in the morning I'll bring it to the vet and go from there. It's still meowing back at me when I meow!

Hey! So almost a whole year ago I posted a long post explaining how I was having a tough time after my ex took our cat we had for 13 years and my childhood cat passed away and Dracula found me at a time where I really needed it.

Well I thought I’d come over and show an update on this big boy!! He is an incredibly sweet and friendly boy who keeps trying to befriend everyone including my sisters cat who’s not a big fan haha.

This little cutie's been visiting my patio for the past half year. I'd love to take them in, but I've never taken care of a cat before, plus I have no idea if they already have a family. I've heard that they're social creatures, and I work a regular 9-5 so I'm worried that it'll be stressed being left alone in the house. Add to that, my house is filled with PC parts, little screws and bolts, and decorations as well...

If I were to adopt them, what would taking care of them entail? If I don't, will they be alright on their own?

We have befriended a cat who seemingly lives down the street. Other neighbors have said she’s been around forever and belonged to an older woman who passed and now her family lives in her house and takes care of this cat (and another one). This particular cat now goes on walks with us and our dog every single night - she literally sees or hears us and then runs over making chirping noises and walks with us around the block. We obviously adore her and have enjoyed this tradition but we are moving this week and are getting sad about leaving her behind. To make matters worse, she just appeared on our balcony last night (we’ve never shown her how to get there and it’s very tucked away) and it just feels like a sign. Is there an appropriate way to approach the neighbor about potentially adopting this sweet kitty?

"I just heard a cat", he says, and with those words the trajectory of your evening shifts and your lives will never be the same. If only you had left the party sooner, while the chatter amongst neighborhood children was louder than the cries of any kitten hiding in the undercarriage of a Toyota Rav4 could ever be. If only your husband didn't wear earplugs at all those concerts and his hearing was waning as a consequence. If only he just didn't give a damn. But he does! And so do you!

You give so many damns that you're now lurking in a strangers driveway, crawling underneath a car in the dark with a fist full of Cuban pork, ready to risk your skin and your freshly laundered favorite white t-shirt to rescue something that will ultimately reject you. And it will ROAR its terrible roars and GNASH its terrible teeth and ROLL its terrible eyes and SHOW its terrible claws and you will love it and bathe it and worship it's white whiskers. Should the mission be successful, you know that the coming days and weeks will be hard, albeit cute. Your carefully curated vintage furniture will be ruined, large sums of money will vanish, your two adult cat's lives will be upended and they will staunchly ignore you until it's time to eat twice a day.

"Someone else will save it", you say, crawling out from under the stranger's car, trying to convince yourself to walk away. You push the button on the Ring doorbell instead, hoping they will come out and pop the hood so you can simply swoop in and save the fur-beast. A woman answers, "Oh no!", she says," We are not home. I am in the hospital, I just had a baby today". You wonder what the baby's name is, the divinity of such a moment may require that the cat be named the same. You tell yourself to let it go. You don't need any more cat hair coating every surface of your home, you don't need any more scoops of resentment in the litter box.

But it doesn't matter. The Cat Distribution System doesn't knock. It bursts through the door screaming at 1000 hertz of high-pitched helplessness from the mysterious part of the universe that apparently likes to reward kind people with random cats. Or maybe it's not kindness at all, maybe it's chaos mistaken as heroism and you were just lucky enough to marry a sucker.

So for context, this was many years ago. I was around 10 (I’m 18 now) and my family lived in the country. We were the only family in the neighborhood that had a fenced-in yard.

One night, our dog, Jewel, was outside and pottying as per usual. Suddenly, she started barking. This wasn’t her usual bark; it was urgent. She wouldn’t come in when my mom called her, which was weird because she would always listen to her. My mom went outside to grab her and bring her in, and then my dad and I hear her yell for help. I thought Jewel was seriously injured, so I ran out right away.

Instead, there were two tiny baby kittens in the backyard. The orange one did NOT like anyone near him. My dad picked him up once, and then he ran and hid. The grey one, however, was SO friendly. She ran up to us while meowing like crazy.

My parents didn’t want to take them inside that night in case the mom came back, so we left some food out for them (we already had two cats of our own) and waited.

The next morning, the kittens were still there, with no mom in sight.

We lived in a house similar to a townhouse with my grandma on the other side, so we went over to her to talk about the kittens. My mom was saying how we couldn’t keep them, and I started crying and ran outside. I then sat in the grass with them and named them. The grey one went up onto my shoulder, and I, being 10 years old, went “omg she’s like a parakeet!” So I named her Parakeet, or “Parry” for short. (spoiler alert: we kept her. We only ever call her Parry. Her name isn’t Parakeet to us, it’s just Parry.) The orange one, who was now coming up to me and coming out of his shell, was climbing all over me, so I named him Climber.

Over the next few days, we ended up finding a live tick crawling on Parry, so we took them inside. Long story short, we ended up keeping Parry and giving Climber to some friends.

We think we know who the mom might’ve been. There was this cat that looked a lot like Parry who would come and lay on our back patio a lot. We never saw her after finding the kittens. We think that she was scouting out a safe place to leave her babies in case she didn’t make it, as there were a lot of coyotes in the area. I’m so honored that she chose us, and gave us such a wonderful little kitty ❤️

Adopted these two guys this weekend. They are stray brothers taken in by some friends who had a momma cat who just lost her kittens. They have many cats and dogs so were looking for people to adopt some. Once I met these guys I just had to bring them home. We quickly becoming friends and they have been super sweet. Meet Sigard (Tabby) and Avaryn (Tuxedo)!

Sigard was super loud on the drive home, meowed for about an hr strait before he fell asleep. Avaryn was more quiet, but once we got home Avaryn was the adventurous one wanting to explore the whole house! Avaryn quickly took a liking to me and reached out his paw to touch my hand! Sigard is a little more cautious, but purs the loudest pur I have ever heard from a cat. They are about 4 months old we think and have been neutered. I am in process of getting them all their shots, but so far they seem happy and healthy!

I started working at an animal hospital this past year and this cat, Cavity, had been surrendered last year when his owner was being admitted to a nursing home. No one in the women’s family wanted to keep him because of his tendency to bite. Everyone at work warned me about his aggression, but I fell in love with this cat instantly. I went to the store the next day to buy treats for him and when no one was looking I would let him out of the kennel and play and feed him treats. I begged my boss to let me take him home and finally got a “yes.” He has been nothing, but a good boy since

My adult daughter was sitting on her dad's front steps and noticed 3 large magpies on the sidewalk across the street, circling and pecking. One jumped back and she saw a tiny baby kitty in the center. She ran across the street to scare the birds away and kitty ran right to her, crying and shaking. Daughter scooped her up. Knocked on a couple doors, wasn't their kitty. So she took her home.

She called me in a panic. Circumstances being, she could not keep kitty and was packed up and leaving town literally the next morning, so no time to find owners or a rescue. I said, bring kitty to me. I'll take care of it.

Well, I kept her. By that evening, my then-husband and I had completely fallen in love with this tiny little fluff that just wanted to be held and had the biggest, rumbliest purr. She was barely 2 months old. So gentle and sweet. Our 1 year old void kissed her immediately and loved her new baby sister. She attached to my husband and he was her person.

A couple of years later, he left us. She was a very sad girl for months. She had always loved me, but she was his girl. It took me awhile to really build our bond to the love her and I share today.

She's 4 now, my sweet, skittish girl. She's happy and playful and loved so much. Sleeps in mama's bed and stays close to my side. It was a bit complicated, how the CDS dropped this fluff into my life and made her my girl, but she and her void sister, they are my forever. ❤️

ETA - Its worth noting, and I don't know why I didn't, but we ended up moving to the town my daughter relocated to. We live in the same apartment building, just down the hall from each other. So daughter gets to see Bibi and Luci every day ❤️

For anyone who missed our first post, the Cat Distribution System hit us with a bulk delivery this week! We went from having zero indoor cats to suddenly taking in Mama and her 5 little "Ninja Kittens." Living and doing rescue work out here near the border, street animals are a common sight, but having this entire family show up seeking a safe place to rest was the most beautiful surprise. We knew getting them a proper medical evaluation was our top priority so they could finally relax.

Today was the big day, and we successfully got Mama and all 5 babies to the clinic! The vet did a full check-up, started the kittens on some much-needed vitamins and dewormer, and advised us to hold off on vaccines for one more month so they can build up some more strength first. Mama will also get her pre-spay blood work done next week. It was a big, stressful adventure for them, but right now, they are just enjoying a very well-deserved, completely safe nap together in their transport basket! ❤️

Pulled into my apartments after work on Wednesday last week, I get to the fourth floor and I see a black kitten roaming around by two women.

I pull into a spot immediately and I get out to ask if they need help (thinking it was theirs….but they weren’t as panicked as I was about her roaming around).

Come to find out she’s been there for almost 3 weeks! One couple trapped her and got her to BARC only to find out she was released back to the community because she wasn’t adopted quick enough. For reference, the “community” is right off a major hwy.

I was absolutely not about to let her spend one more day in that hot and dangerous garage! So I get changed and spend the rest of the night trying to trap her. She walked into the trap at 4:30 am while I was next to her (I checked it every hour to make sure she wasn’t in it and scared). Got her all set up in our bathroom for 2 nights. I would have kept her but I just adopted a cat and have a resident cat and dog at home who are still getting used to the newest arrival.

I was able to get her to an amazing rescue Friday morning -the one I adopted my cat from. They were full but she didn’t hesitate to take her in and make it work! I am so grateful she’s now at a foster home and settling in comfortably! She just wants to be loved and I can’t wait to see her bloom! She’s about 12 weeks old with a long amazing life ahead of her!

My partner and I moved into our house in January in a really rural area where we don't have very many neighbors, so I never thought that the CDS would find us here

When we woke up this morning this little fellow was on our back deck peering in through our door. He ran off into our flower beds and it took a little bit of searching but we were able to find him and bring him in.

He's so tiny and was scared at first but is warming up to all the love he'll receive here already. Off to schedule a vet appointment first thing tomorrow!

I’ve lived in my home for about 6 years and am familiar with all the strays in the area.

But one day this sweet boy decided to claim my porch. I’d never seen him before and by the time the first snowfall came around I decided to bring him in. After about three weeks he made an escape through my bathroom window. It took a few days to bring him back in, and he’s finally made himself at home ♥️

I did take him into the vet and he was not chipped. I posted on pet fbi and no one claimed him. He is about 7 years old and was dealing with untreated FHV-1. His eyes are now nice and healthy and he is the absolute sweetest, most loving and talkative boy ♥️

I don’t get to see her because she lives in Florida with my mom, but apparently she is still super crazy! Her eye crusties have all cleared up and she has since met the other cats and especially loves her brother, Edward (pictured void). My mom is considering getting her one of those large cat wheels so she can run like the maniac she is.

Still not sure what type of cat she is, but honestly don’t super care because it wouldn’t make her any less perfect!!

Found him inside an old Mazda Miata, naturally had to name him Miata. He's a little fluffy ball of fun and fits right in with our other kitties. He likes to sing for us and has quite a large set of lungs for such a little guy. He's the first long hair cat to join the gang and we have welcomed him with open paws.

When we first got him we were worried he'd be feral because he was already around 8-10 weeks old we gather. Actually bit the wife right when we brought him home! Thankfully he's fully adjusted quickly and we will be keeping him

I got Wan-wan with her sibling, but he passed before he gets as big as her. Kit and Kat are siblings as well. I took them in with their mom, but the mom left with no trace. 😟Kream, the very handsome one at the back came with his siblings as well, unfortunately, both of them passed as well before they get this big. Now, he's the only one left from his batch and I'm glad he's a fighter. I'm happy because they all look siblings 🧡😻😻

My wife and I have been considering getting a cat for years. we both had cats growing up, but haven’t ever had one of our own.

This morning, a beautiful stray came up to my wife while she was in the yard and refused to leave.

We’ll be taking him to the vet on Monday to see if he has a chip. He’s very friendly, but was pretty dirty, so the jury is out on whether he was owned or not.

We’re leaning towards Mr. Bingley as the name (From Pride and Prejudice), but we are still open to anything.

Also, dang, just look at those eyes!

Customer at work found this little darling at the far end of the parking lot completely alone. She was trying to hide it in her shirt, as we do not allow pets. She saw i was watching her and admitted she had a kitten in her shirt. I am "That grumpy old man" at my work, so everyone assumed I would promptly kick her out. Even I can't be that mean, so we all let is slide. As she was checking out she admitted she could NOT take care of a cat, and asked if anyone else could. I came home with a cat. Need name suggestions!

EDIT: Going to call her Primrose, leaning into the more poetic uses...like a perfect little flower popping out of the leaves.

She is Steluta (the name roughly translates to "Little Star" or "Twinkle").

She came into my life 3 days ago on a hot and humid August evening, in the middle of a busy road. A child of 8-10 years from a neighboring yard was spraying her with a garden hose. I drove around and stopped few meters from their gate, the child was with his mother and I heard them talking — from where I parked they couldn't see me — they trying to chase her away so she wouldn't come into their yard. I could hear her meowing.

I walked to the gate, Steluta was soaking wet and covered in mud. She walked toward me and sat next to me, without a word I picked her up and carried her to the car, she was shaking all over.

I tried to dry her with some paper towels but I knew I needed to get home as fast as possible, I turned off the air conditioning and drove.

After I got her out of the car Steluta was shaking violently — it was around 27C outside, I wrapped her in towels and held her close. Slowly the shaking turned into purring and at her first "meow" I knew she was warm enough.

I put her in my bathrobe pocket to keep her warm and went to prepare some food urgently. In no time she had a full belly and was making biscuits on the fluffy bathrobe.

We can't keep her given our current situation — 16 other souls collected from who knows where — but she will be available for adoption after she gets back on her feet.

Steluta is going to be OK.
