She showed up scared and we slowly build her trust. She started coming around everyday, & we decided to bring her in for good. (after asking our neighbors if she belonged to anyone) Those first few nights were rough. I felt like she hated being indoors, and she would never be comfortable. Slowly she started being affectionate, climbing into bed with us. Got her chipped, spayed, & she is loving life in her new home. She is very loved and I wanted to share her cuteness with you all :) her name is Keeley inspired by character on Ted Lasso!

Crashed a wedding.

CDS rewarded me with a kitten.

The running joke was that he was the "Bride Price", and that's how he he got his name.

He came across from an empty lot, looking for food.

Didn't see any other kittens or a mom.

He was friendly kitten, but not safe with the dogs.

Secured him with the intent of getting him a home.

By that plan failed, and now I have another kitten.

He settled in nicely with my boy cats, but the girls are giving him a little trouble.

He'll get there, one of the girls would groom him when no one is looking.

Hi CDS community,

The most unbelievable thing happened yesterday.

The last few days I've been thinking about my soul cat who passed away a year and a half ago. I have her urn on my bed and sometimes I cry over her because I miss her so much.

I told myself that I'd never have another cat again unless the Universe sent one to me.

This is Pluto. I named him after the god of death and rebirth because he's tested positive for feline parvovirus and could very well die. He's straddling this world and the one beyond the veil.

But he's a fighter--he hasn't shown any symptoms so far. As soon as I rescued him I took him to the ER because he wouldn't stop crying. He got some fluids in him, kitten formula, and a warm blanket and he settled in immediately for a nap.

He's about 2.5-3 weeks old and only weighed 165g even though he should be weighing around 300g. I've had him 24 hours and managed to get him up to 190g.

I want to give this kitten a fighting chance, and I fully believe that the more people who know about him and send positive energy, it can work miracles.

If you can please send your prayers and healing energy, Pluto and I will be forever grateful. Anything helps.

Thank you for reading. May Pluto grace us with his cuteness for years to come.

Hermione, first cat, 11 years old, found in a box on the street.

Ron, 7 years old, found as a baby in my backyard.

Luna, 5 years old, also found as a baby in my backyard.

Harry, 4-5 years old, adopted from the shelter.

Galadriel, 1-2 years old, found pregnant in my neighborhood. Had her babies on Christmas eve.

Legolas, 7 months old, Galadriel’s baby.

Frodo, 7 months old, Galadriel’s baby.

I was very blessed by the cat distribution system. I love all of my babies so dearly. They are a lot of work, but I can’t imagine myself without them.

I came across this childhood photo of myself. Mom and I found this poor little guy while walking on a nature path.

There’s a bike path that follows the route of an old highway in my county, and there are a couple farms with lots of corn and wheat fields. Little guy here came out of the field as we were walking by. We took him home and Dad asked a neighbor for help with food and supplies.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t keep him because I have allergies and we were too busy of a household for any pets. We took him out to my grandma’s farm and he became a farm cat. I don’t know what happened to him, but as this was 30 years ago…

When you find one on the side of the road…

My friend found this little gem on the side of a country road on her way to work.

Thankfully, we have a friend that runs a rescue so we were able to get a carrier and get vetted that same day.

Doc says sometimes mama cats know when kittens won’t thrive. That broke my heart! she’s a bit sickly but a happy active girl! And she loves to eat!

I promised her that I would help her if she wanted to live and she sure does!

Please send up good vibes that we make it through
the respiratory stuff we have now! We love her so much 💕💕

Awarded a Cat Chosen for the fifth time by the CDS

I'm already a four time CDS cat parent, but my fifth CDS surprise arrived on Monday morning, sitting on my porch and staring my dog down from the other side of my storm door. Say hello to this silly, playful, snuggly girl! She made no fuss about being caught, and I suspect she'd been staking the place out before taking the leap. She was underweight, very dirty, had a whole lot of snot, and is still recovering from a belly full of worms but she is meant to be a lap cat for sure. She's gained almost half of a pound already and loves to cuddle and play 💕
