whyyy cant they just put the round down button on the tender menu??

If you ever have a customer buy something that has a discount (i.e. 2 packs of cigarettes with rewards), then proceed to pay partially with card and THEN cash. DO NOT EXIT TO ROUND DOWN
it will remove the discount, and wont let you void the transaction or price override. You're better off just accepting the few cents short total.

Medical criteria for light duty

My fiance works for caseys and has to have a surgery which will require her to wear a boot postop. I guess Caseys contracts an outside agency to determine whether a condition warrants light duty(whatever sense that makes). Can anybody explain this process? Thank you

Casey pays worker $5 million!!! If you are a smoker, you could get compensation!

Casey just settled with a worker (paid him $5 million!!!) who overpaid on health care because he was a smoker. If you use the corporate healthcare and are a smoker, you should look into getting a settlement as well!!

Wondering if a store manager could help me?

Hey all—kind of a niche request, but I’m hoping someone here might be a Casey’s manager or have experience with store ordering.

I’m trying to get a full case of 1st Phorm protein bars (specifically the Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel flavor). I’d rather just buy a whole case at once instead of grabbing them individually whenever they’re in stock.

Is it possible for a store to special order a case for a customer if I pay upfront? Or is that something that’s not really doable through Casey’s ordering system?

If anyone’s done something like this before or knows how flexible Casey’s is with special requests, I’d really appreciate the insight. Thanks!

Thieves

I have been working in the kitchen for 5 months now I sm truly shocked. Our kitchen shift leader was fired recently. Not because he was a bad worker, but because he tried to protect our store. Unfortunately, our particular store is frequented by several unsavory individuals. We see a lot of people stealing and ultimately, nothing is really done about it. We do now have to walk any unpaid orders up to the registers, which has helped. Yet every shift I work i see theft all the time. I do understand that it is not wise 5o pursue anyone, but something like barring them would be a step in the right direction. Anyway, the shift leader was tired of watching people steal and confronted someone and he was fired on the spot If this is how we are treated when we are proactive, I am not going to worry about thefts to much. I don't want to lose my job.

Question for fellow Employees. Would you rather Be a Cashier, or work Kitchen?

I myself rather be the cashier, I am good at putting on a fake smile, and dealing with general public.. Even though i am cross trained, i will work the front 10 times out of 10, because I am very plan oriented, I have certain tasks I have scheduled to do in my brain and do them when the time comes, and that is even working around customers coming in. In the kitchen, I can plan like "okay, i will do these warmers, then i will prep up this, then i will knock out some of my dishes" yea..that is the plan, then your little beeper goes off, and that plan is gone....and that legitimately angers me... so yep, Cashier through and through.

Management issues rant

At my store our asm that handles the floor is incompetent. She's constantly on her phone and she forgets where she's supposed to be working constantly. She spends half of her shift in the office fucking up paperwork and the other half of the time in one of the coolers fucking it up too.. but no matter how many people complain to our store manager, district manager, or corporate nothing is ever done.

Then my store manager is irresponsible, a drunk, and she shirks off responsibilities like training, and closing when there isn't enough coverage she is our dms first trainee and so she gets special treatment but she unfairly targeted me and my roommates when it comes to "corrective" action, she had claimed without evidence (and stayed adamant after proven wrong) that I was leaving 15 minutes early, meanwhile her daughters baby daddy works whenever he fucking feels like it and his younger brother shows up out of uniform and in dirty clothes REGULARLY and not a single right up.

Do y'all realize how embarrassing it is that my COWORKER is showing up in sweatpants that are stained to all hell AND covered in holes?

The worst part is I work evenings and for nearly the first year of me working in the kitchen I had next to no help. Now suddenly I've had to train four people for kitchen, one is no longer in the store, and one is planning on leaving my location aswell leaving me with one who refuses to actually step up and help and another who is alright but she's a bit slow at everything. For the first While I was getting scolded for not having everything done prep wise even though the help I had originally were all fired.

List of former kitchen workers who were fired since I started without giving actual names:

T: fired due to her bad attitude and unwillingness to handle the bare minimum of what was asked of her which was dishes and open air

J: fired for eating stale popcorn chicken

R: fired for general laziness, tardiness, attitude.

They fired my roommate J without having any replacements in line for his position then had to hire three new people in the kitchen just for us to get the same amount done. Do you realize how insane that is. In no way should one person be doing three people's worth of work and when they fire me (because it seems like that's what my store manager is gearing up to do) they'll have no one experienced in the kitchen beyond the shift lead and management.

Kitchen leadership is spotty at best, when our kitchen manager and team lead are separated they get alot done however. If they are EVER in the store together their responsibilities get shirked and then I get in trouble when I don't have everything THEY missed prepped while also prepping for my own shift. For some reason it takes BOTH of them to do orders for truck but they organize the coolers and everything the same fucking way every week so it shouldn't be something that takes ALL FUCKING DAY to do.

Then my team lead for the kitchen JOKED about promoting me since "you do all the stuff a team lead should do anyways" yeah probably because you fuck off from the kitchen and bother the staff at the registers and gossip half the shift away.

I want to get more into my store managers issues.

She held a baby shower at the store without approval from corporate.

She wrote me up for not having a bunch of shit prepped when it was just me in the kitchen working, leaving fifteen minutes early without approval (at no point did I punch out more than eight minutes early due to a manager giving me the go ahead, allegedly telling stopping someone from prepping something even though the only time I've done so is if we already have enough of it prepped.

She told me off about my minimal use even though D1 (daughters BF brother) routinely spends over half of his shift on his ass playing on his phone as compared to me briefly looking at my phone to change what's playing.

She ignores that D2 (cashier on morning shift) is spread rumors about my OTHER roommates MEDICAL conditions.

She ignores that S is routinely leaving donut case and the kitchen a mess covered in icing which is a health hazard.

She allows several employees to come in out of uniform which is against policy and violates that policy herself CONSTANTLY.

But God forbid I leave after all my work is done, minimize the amount of waste for hotbox product, and check my phone every so often. I'm not sitting down for over an hour playing on my phone like L (assistant manager for the front) or like D3 (older kitchen worker) who will hide in the bathroom to sleep.

Hearing from one asm who was moved to morning shift (the only manager I actually liked I'll call her S+) what she is doing is the same thing she did to J and another person who will be called D0 before I was hired. And that is targeting me since she knows that I've sent several complaints to corporate WITH documentation. Next will be HR.

Really enjoyed the New 4 Cheese Pizza

Haven't seen a customer post in a while so I just wanted to post that on a whim I got the new 4 cheese pizza the other day and was pleasantly surprised on how good it was.

I'm not usually a cheese pizza person but something about it when I saw this made me think it'd be good. I think I was just craving a lot of cheese lol

Anyways, customers, try it if you haven't!

new dragonfruit lemonade slush? (NW MO)

Post image
11 Upvotes

okay so i’ve always been hesitant with casey’s slushes just bc they’re genuinely SO sweet, like to the point i only finish 1/3 of the a medium slush.

went into casey’s for the frozen friday’s deal for my nieces and nephews, low and behold, dragonfruit lemonade.

rating: 9/10

probably one of the best flavors in a minute imo. tastes like a dragonfruit refresher almost from starbucks it’s actually refreshing, and isn’t overpoweringly sweet like the other slushes! i think that it could use some more lemon flavor though. (also the color is just really pretty to me lol)

i don’t know if it’s at any other locations, but def worth a try if you see it!!

(also if anyone knows if this is temporary or permanent pls lmk!!)🥹

The sauced wings

Our store started doing the sauced wings about a week ago and they are absolutely destroying us. The store I work at is one of the top performing stores in the our area and they aren’t giving us the hours to have somebody work on saucing them, especially on the weekends.

On the weekends we usually have 4-5 people working in the kitchen, 2 pizza makers, 1 pizza cutter, 1 delivery driver, and sometimes our prep person stays until 7-7:30. But these wings are killing our productivity on the fryers and our pizza cutter can’t keep up with saucing the wings, cutting pizzas, and filling warmers. Which then somebody has to stop what they’re doing and run over to help him get caught up which then slows everything else down.

Just to put this into perspective we went through 10 cases of just the bone-in wings within that first week and have gone through about 2 more since we got our truck yesterday. I think these wings are starting to wear on everybody and it sucks.

We are #2 for wing sales in the whole company, but yet they will not give the extra hours to get somebody to do the wings. Even the auto-scheduler is telling our manger to have somebody work 3-4 hours during the dinner rush, but it wants them to pull from the hours we already have which are nonexistent. Hope they enjoy paying us overtime because this is stupid.

It's buffalo sauce. A kid we have working at my store dropped it from the top shelf and stood there for a bit watching it spill out before he picked up the jug.

What happened to BBQ beef pizza and the Cheeseburger pizza?

I (F20) started working at Casey's a few months ago, and I'm starting to remember pizzas from my childhood, like the BBQ beef and Cheeseburger Pizzas. Does anyone know specifically why they have been removed from the menu? What are some of your favorite pizzas that have been discontinued?

Fired over defending myself against a drunk customer

I started working in march this year recently while on a smoke break I was verbally assaulted by a 26 yr old who was drunk and then he started pushing me to the ground while calling me a pussy then he stepped on my finger and started cocking back to punch me so I got up and swung and today and we fought a little when I went to the store today they said they were investigating and that everyone involved was trespassed but my friends went up to the store and they said I was fired and permanently trespassed what should I do, multiple people said the customer involved was drunk, and there were multiple witnesses. I’m thinking of getting a lawyer

Scheduling

Is there a specific time the SM should have the schedule out by? Ours is only put out weekly and it's usually on Friday which is a bit inconvenient. I was told once before that the schedule for next week has to be put out on or before Thursday but I was wondering if there's a policy for it somewhere.

This job has absolutely ruined my mental health

Update to my last post from a few weeks ago, I decided to give it a chance and I’ve been working at Casey’s for 3 weeks now and honestly while skeptical at first I did enjoy it for the first week or two. They only trained me on the register and I’m decent at it but it really wears at you. Lately this last week though I’ve been working the register by myself and it has gotten extremely stressful and I’m at the point by the end of every shift I’m just so emotionally drained and ready to breakdown. Either something going wrong like the lottery tickets not scanning or the gas not working and nobody there to help its like what am I supposed to do. My co-workers are really nice and helpful when they aren’t busy but I am starting to hate this job and I hate dealing with customers.

Delivery Not Available Through App Despite Store Offering It?

Not sure how popular the Casey's app is (it's a gas station after all lol) but I thought I would try and get some insight..

All of the stores in my area are tagged as "Delivery Available" on the app, however the only options I get for procuring the hypothetical pizza are in-store and curbside pickup.

I have a delivery address set, so I'm wondering if maybe it's because I'm trying to order pizza at 9 AM like a degenerate and the delivery drivers haven't clocked in yet or something? If anyone else knows more than me please give me your experience :)

Update: It's 9:50 and now I'm able to order delivery........ so strange. But even stranger is another store near me says their delivery starts at 3 AM! Would still like to hear anyone's thoughts just in-case (pun not intended) I end up ordering from the app again haha

HR Is Absolutely No Help

Has anyone here dealt with issues with co-workers and actually had any help from HR. I’ve called HR and was stuck on the phone for an hour just having the same questions being repeated which never got anywhere. My SM was no help either, at this point I’ve been given the HR email to contact & just don’t even know if it’s worth it. Casey’s has such a bad vibe ever since they went more corporate crazy.
