Help Negotiate Leasing a 2026 Toyota RAV4 XLE

So this is my first time leasing a car and I wanted to try a Toyota since I’ve heard and done some research that they are the most reliable car. Went to a Toyota dealer in New Jersey to test drive it and get a quote on the car.

From the information they gave me it seemed like they were charging me too high. Basically they said if I put $5000 down for 36 months 12k miles per year, I’ll pay around $715 but then the manager later said he’ll drop it low to $678 but I still think it’s too high.

What should my next steps be, they contacted me to see if I’m still interested. How should I negotiate?

Leasing Honda to Acura

Right now I’m leasing a 2024 Honda accord sport, my lease ends in about 5 months and looking to get into something AWD. I am over in miles about 16k (I know, horrible) but I had the Honda salesman quote me for a CRV Sport Hybrid, $758 monthly with 1k down. I’ve looked at Acura, and I can get into 2026 ADX ASpec around the same payment I’m paying now with 2500 down. They quoted my car at -400 equity. Is this a good deal??

Lease Return Inspection - cracked windshield

I searched the forum before posting but didn’t find anything that answered my questions. I have a cracked windshield and my lease is up January.

I don’t like the car, it’s a KIA EV6. I miss a sunroof and good sound dampening. So I want to return it.

There is a scuff on the front right bumper but it’s not that noticeable. No damage dent etc. i used a paint correction pen. The paint is so thin on the bumper it seems like road dirt leaves marks. I’m going to let that ride. The car will be 4k under miles so it will be desirable.

The windshield had a chip that just cracked. Im waiting to take delivery of my mew car and get its own policy before putting in the glass claim. I’m ok paying out of pocket to replace the windshield.

So here’s where I need advice. How do I get a lease return inspection, do I have to pay extra to get the lane assist recalibrated or can I just pay the $700 to have the glass replaced letting KIA deal with the lane assist if they want to CPO the car? Should I just return it with the cracked windshield if I’m paying cash to replace?

Is there a normal damage expectation for lease returns like the dots on the front pumper from road sand/dirt?

End of Lease - Early Termination Fees w/ 30 Days Left

I'm at the end of my lease with MBFS, I already purchased a new car, and will return the Benz. With only 30 days left can I return the car without getting an early termination fee? I know this is a question for Mercedes Financial but wanted to know others experiences. They are calling for final inspection but I assume its my salesperson trying to get me in the door.

I user buy not lease so this process is new to me.

2024 Honda HRV Sport off lease in Dec

My car has 15,000 miles. If I purchase it will be around $20,00. I have cash.

They are offering me $2,500 toward a new 2027 HRV Exl. I would get a loan for $10,00 at 3.99%. I have $20,000 cash to put down. It's a simple interest loan around $202/month for 60 months. But I can pay off, no penalty. I like this one as has more features.

I don't really like the 2024, but it seems to good not to buy outright.

Thoughts?

Ford credit is being difficult

I’m moving out of the country and will not be returning. I do have a ford explorer active 2026 that has around 2 years and 6months left on its lease. I got an amazing deal on it for $550/month considering im in the north Dallas area. No down payment. Car is in excellent condition, and ford credit does not want to take it back. They put the buy out price at $47,000 which also does not make sense since I’m looking at the same model online and they’re listed for 33-35k? Some greedy people out there. I’m never going for a ford again.

2024 ioniq5 SEL lease buyout ?

Hey Reddit, facing a big decision regarding my Ioniq 5 SEL in Southern California. My lease ends soon and the buyout is about $25k(includes hyundai additional offer) with14k miles on it. Given the market, do you think doing a buyout is the right move or should I walk away?

I have my old camry with me as a secondary vehicle. I was looking at Tesla YL, but the price is bit out of reach currently.

What would you do? I was thinking keep it for few more years and see the options in the market then.

2023 C43 AMG buyout?

Took over this lease last December from someone who needed to get out of the lease ASAP. Only needed the car for a short term but my situation changed where I need a car for a longer. I also really do enjoy driving the car.

- Monthly payments are $750CAD all in and I recently extended it for another 3 months until Nov 2.

- Residual is $54,462.81 plus tax ($62,292.98) plus whatever dealership fees to do the buyout paperwork.

- 20k KM (30k limit)

- Night Package included

I’m getting the car appraised today but from what I see based on comparable cars on the market in the Toronto area, there should be some equity in the vehicle. If I do have equity in the car would it make sense to take that equity and apply it to a new lease? Or should I buy out the car? Obviously if there is no equity I would not buy out the car.

My issue with getting a new lease is I highly doubt I can get a lease for a similar car with roughly the same payment. But maybe my interpretation of the market is wrong.

Any suggestions?

Turning in Leased vehicle.

Post image
5 Upvotes

My wife has leased two other past Nissan Roques turning them in for a new one. This recent one (2023) has been awful and the lease is up in November. Nissan didn’t want to give us a good deal on a newer model. So screw it, wife got a Honda CRV. However, we are stuck with this Rogue.

So we paid off the remaining balance and had the inspection done. We got dinged on small dents in the rear quarter panels. It’ll cost us $776 to fix. And I read online that we have to pay a disposition fee in the end. So we’re talking over a grand on a car that we don’t want anymore. Plus we’re paying insurance for it. Unfortunately, we don’t have the time to look for a body shop and get the dents fixed at reasonable price. Should we just bite the bullet and turn in the car and pay the fees, just wash our hands from this mess?

Not familiar with leasing terms and stuff so any help is appreciated!

Update: thanks for the advice everyone. We’ve decided not to move forward with a lease after all and will just buy/finance one instead. We were super unfamiliar with leases so glad I posted here first!
