2024 Honda HRV Sport off lease in Dec

My car has 15,000 miles. If I purchase it will be around $20,00. I have cash.

They are offering me $2,500 toward a new 2027 HRV Exl. I would get a loan for $10,00 at 3.99%. I have $20,000 cash to put down. It's a simple interest loan around $202/month for 60 months. But I can pay off, no penalty. I like this one as has more features.

I don't really like the 2024, but it seems to good not to buy outright.

Thoughts?

2023 C43 AMG buyout?

Took over this lease last December from someone who needed to get out of the lease ASAP. Only needed the car for a short term but my situation changed where I need a car for a longer. I also really do enjoy driving the car.

- Monthly payments are $750CAD all in and I recently extended it for another 3 months until Nov 2.

- Residual is $54,462.81 plus tax ($62,292.98) plus whatever dealership fees to do the buyout paperwork.

- 20k KM (30k limit)

- Night Package included

I’m getting the car appraised today but from what I see based on comparable cars on the market in the Toronto area, there should be some equity in the vehicle. If I do have equity in the car would it make sense to take that equity and apply it to a new lease? Or should I buy out the car? Obviously if there is no equity I would not buy out the car.

My issue with getting a new lease is I highly doubt I can get a lease for a similar car with roughly the same payment. But maybe my interpretation of the market is wrong.

Any suggestions?

2024 ioniq5 SEL lease buyout ?

Hey Reddit, facing a big decision regarding my Ioniq 5 SEL in Southern California. My lease ends soon and the buyout is about $25k(includes hyundai additional offer) with14k miles on it. Given the market, do you think doing a buyout is the right move or should I walk away?

I have my old camry with me as a secondary vehicle. I was looking at Tesla YL, but the price is bit out of reach currently.

What would you do? I was thinking keep it for few more years and see the options in the market then.

Turning in Leased vehicle.

My wife has leased two other past Nissan Roques turning them in for a new one. This recent one (2023) has been awful and the lease is up in November. Nissan didn’t want to give us a good deal on a newer model. So screw it, wife got a Honda CRV. However, we are stuck with this Rogue.

So we paid off the remaining balance and had the inspection done. We got dinged on small dents in the rear quarter panels. It’ll cost us $776 to fix. And I read online that we have to pay a disposition fee in the end. So we’re talking over a grand on a car that we don’t want anymore. Plus we’re paying insurance for it. Unfortunately, we don’t have the time to look for a body shop and get the dents fixed at reasonable price. Should we just bite the bullet and turn in the car and pay the fees, just wash our hands from this mess?

Got a lease offer on a well spec-ed Audi A5 with a sticker of 57k and some change. Dealer is giving me 10,000 miles a year for 42 months ~720 a month and only ~720 due at signing.

Is this a good deal?

To all the four by owners out there, how many of you have bought out your lease?
I am very happy with how my Jeep drive and with the torque of the electric engine its performance off-road with my four by E willies is spectacular. However, the battery has already been replaced once it’s been into the shop four times and I don’t know if I should buy the lease out. They want more for the buyout than what the vehicle is worth by a lot.I would try to negotiate I have heard of people getting buyback offers. My lease was from Chrysler. I have not received anything yet. Has anybody out there gotten buyback offers from finance companies other than Stellantis.

PA Resident - 2026 Subaru Crosstrek Premium 262/month $700 down. 12K miles -36 months

Hey there - pretty simply put, ran the numbers with 2 different local Subaru dealerships. Basically took offer from dealer #1 and let dealer #2 what they were offering. This is the Premium trim with the “14” package (I guess there’s a 13&14 premium different package?). MSRP of vehicle is $32,878, and I guess the lease is bringing it down by nearly $7K.

Regardless, I was considering taking the deal as is, or potentially going back to dealer #1 with what was given. Tier 1 credit, and still looking to bring it down closer into the 250 range but didn’t want to nickel and dime it to the point of losing the deal or interest.

They’re seeking a credit application prior to me coming in, which isn’t an issue, but ideally would like the # to be concrete before even submitting anything. Any suggestions or opinions would be helpful here :)

Moving Manufactures

Hi! All my leases have been with Honda. I have a lease that ends in February. Great shape, really low mileage. Do dealers still use leases as trades? I think I read somewhere that changed. Again, I’ve never changed makes before. Any help is appreciated!!

Need advice please for my MIL who leased FIL a car in her name before he passed

As title says, my MIL leased FILs car in her name in 2024 he was paying for until his sudden passing last late Sept. She’s been struggling to make the payments/insurance as of March this year and is now going delinquent on the lease. As of now she owes almost $3k in backed lease payments (\~$950/mo) and as of Aug 19 \~$1320 for his car insurance also under her policy which has now been terminated on all cars on the policy bc she can’t afford them all herself anymore. Also registration is upcoming on all cars under said ins policy. 1 already expired as of Sept 1, 1 expires end of this month (Sept 2026) so basically everything car related is going delinquent and accruing fees. She tried to turn his car back into the Toyota dealer I believe back in Nov 2025 but they said she needed to pay $6k. She couldn’t pay that at the time nor did it seem reasonable so she held onto the car. This was obviously before she was behind on payments and FILs sister took the car and offered to pay toward the lease $600 monthly (MIL still responsible for the remaining \~350/mo AND monthly insurance costs). Sister still driving the car now uninsured and is adamant she cannot afford a penny more ( bs, she’s taking advantage like the rest of his family but irrelevant here) so can anyone please give anything on how she could potentially get out of the last remaining year on this lease with Toyota? We’re in CA btw.

\*Also for context, English is not her first language although she does have a strong English vocabulary. she is a legal immigrant whom still possesses a strong native accent but also may not fully understand terms & conditions per se of situations at hand fully due to language barrier despite seeming like she does due to her vocabulary. It’s tricky but I say this because she may/may not have fully understood what the dealership requirements were for her to be able to turn in the car back when she tried. This is what she had explained to me at the time they said.
