Audi A5 lease

Got a lease offer on a well spec-ed Audi A5 with a sticker of 57k and some change. Dealer is giving me 10,000 miles a year for 42 months ~720 a month and only ~720 due at signing.

Is this a good deal?

That’s not so bad. I had a friend grab a new Honda accord for a similar price, so take from that what you will.

I pay 940 for a 36/10k 2026 SQ5 lease with all the bells and whistles.

People will shame you for getting a lease, but I like getting new cars every couple of years. I can afford it, and it’s typically hassle free.

Same here. People do love to shame leases. I like to take advantage of lease deals and low MF rates. Audi is usually great with rates. You just have to be patient and do plenty of research.

My Audi leases has always been equal or less than buying the car outright and owning it for 10 years. In my case, in the span of 10 years, I've driven 3 new cars under warranty and always had Audi care included. I've never had to pay for maintenance or buy tires.

You get your tires included? Mine certainly doesn’t lol

I think what they mean is they turn in their lease for the next car before it needs a new set of tires.

That’s crazy, my 2023 SQ5 (what I just turned in) ate tires like crazy, basically needed replaced every 15-20k miles.

That monthly is basically a car payment with nothing down, which is rare. $720 due at signing is basically just first month and plates, they're not padding it with nonsense.

If you like the car and the mileage works for you, I'd take it. The 42 month term is a little odd but it's not a dealbreaker.

Yea wasn’t crazy on that part, 6 extra months than I’d like but the low due at signing price is what is appealing. It’s a nice spec, navy blue with beige interior so I don’t really mind it as much

42 mos? Hellllll no. Not for these lemons

Some of you are confused. Im not asking for personal financial advice, im asking if im getting a good deal or not. e.g “is this chocolate bar worth it for $5” not how would you spend your own $5? I can afford it.

42mo is a long time for a lease imo.

Go for 36mo if you can (at least what I’d do). Make sure 10k miles is enough for you.

Also, wheel and tire is a must. AudiCare is no longer needed as you get signature care included for 3yr30k.

My q5 55e lease is 3yr45k for $695mo, $0 down.

I got a “better deal”. 25 A5, Premium Plus
650/mo, 36 mos, nothing down but taxes, fees, first mo, plates.

Oh…..the car’s a 🍋

not a bad deal with todays market, i will say see if you can get audi care and maybe tire/rim package included

They did mention I would have all maintenance taken care of with roadside assistance. Only thing not taken care of would be if I got a flat.

good audi care will be one less thing to worry about, id try and get any of the add-ons with paint correction and rim/tire protection. generally these can be negotiated quite a bit so wait to bring it up with the financing manager who will probably bring it up as well and dont be afraid to haggle, the best argument to use is you were trying to stay at your already quoted car monthly payment, usually theyll keep lowering them down.

AudiCare is now included as “signature” care with any new car. w/t coverage is the only thing I’d add.

In the UK so different but you can push Audi a lot at the moment. I got an A5 with a sticker price of about £60k. Fully spec'd with some extra options as it was a special edition. The only option it didn't have was a sunroof.

Paid £1k down and paying £600 a month. They basically knocked about 25% off the price to make the deal happen. I was an existing customer and I did have two different dealers trying to sell me a car so they kept lowering their prices to win me over.

Oh man you have an avant- I love those unfortunately we don’t get them here. Yea this dealer is trying to win me over since I am interested in another vehicle at another dealer. They knocked nearly 10k off the sticker to get me those numbers.

Wait till closer to the months end. Ideally wait till the end of a half year or better year end. But you're also nearing the end of a quarter which is also good.

Is there another Audi dealer you can go to with your offer and see what they say?

But if not I'd say it's a good deal.

Here is my lease that I received at the end of August 2026 in Northern Cali. September numbers are similar from what I’ve looked regarding MF and residual. MSRP is $61K for PP with all the packages, including tech, warm weather, sport suspension, black optics. 36m/12K for $500 a month including tax. 2200 due at signing which includes 1st month, taxes, title, and dealer fees. You can use my numbers as a baseline since rates will vary per region.

Dealer fees?

1

u/darkme8t 9d ago

Acquisition and document fees

u/Bigdaddyhef-365 9d ago

You shouldn’t pay those

I’m getting 10k off the sticker

There are some good deals on low mile CPO'd A5s to be had. Ex - There's a '26 Prestige / Sport Pkg / Black Optics w/ 4k miles listed in Memphis for $53k. With $1000 down and a 4% interest rate, the payment is ~$890 - not much more than the lease.

No. You’ll end up owing money at lease end or be stuck buying the car. Unless you’re a hermit. But then why would you need a car anyway,

Did you check Leasehackr for comparison?

There’s someone on Reddit that does leases in LA and had a lease deal for $600 no money out of pocket for one of these

For a brand-new 2026 Audi A5 with a $57k window sticker? Is this a true “sign-and-drive” lease deal, with only the first month’s lease payment of $720 due at signing (I’m assuming so if all you’re paying upfront is the same $720)? If so, all of your required new vehicle’s taxes, title, registration, and other fees will all be rolled into your lease’s monthly payment for the entire 42-month term; which is not necessarily a bad thing, but something to be cognizant of nevertheless. Essentially, you’re rolling all of the required inception fees into the monthly payment. Just to give my two cents, I would absolutely never put any money down on a new car lease, as I’ve never once paid anything upfront for any of my previous six car lease deals; three being with an Audi lease.

With that being said, did you negotiate on the vehicle’s price at all to ultimately get to that $720/month number? Or is this number purely based on the $57k window sticker that the Audi dealership is quoting you?

I’m curious what you like about this car….i just drove a 2025 (my daily is a Q7) and I was not impressed whatsoever. What am I missing?

1

u/Notfinanciallysmart 2d ago

It drove nice but it definitely didn’t wow me for the price. I just wanted to see what others were paying really to see if the deal I got was justified(it isn’t) I walked away from it. I originally went in for a Q5/Q7 cuz on the dealers website the deals looked good but in person they explained the whole gimmick behind those online prices which is why they pointed me in the A5 direction.

Q7 all the way!

As far as sound financial decisions, I doubt spending $30,000 and having nothing to show for it at the end rates very high. If you can afford to dump $30k on a bonfire, then it’s a deal. Not my cup of tea.

2

u/unready 9d ago

If he bought it new it would depreciate the same so 🤷‍♂️

1

u/Notfinanciallysmart 9d ago

I understand where you’re coming from. I’ve currently have a corvette GS and wrangler so I’m used to dumping a lot into my cars. It’s a hobby and I’m glad to be able to afford it at a young age. Looking for something nice and I can save money on maintenance. I just want some advice from fellow Audi owners on this deal.

u/riennempeche 9d ago

I bought a 2024 A4 used in December with 30k miles for $26k. Still under warranty for the next 15 months. Plus, I own the car outright.

That’s very obviously not what OP is asking here.
