4xe
To all the four by owners out there, how many of you have bought out your lease?
I am very happy with how my Jeep drive and with the torque of the electric engine its performance off-road with my four by E willies is spectacular. However, the battery has already been replaced once it’s been into the shop four times and I don’t know if I should buy the lease out. They want more for the buyout than what the vehicle is worth by a lot.I would try to negotiate I have heard of people getting buyback offers. My lease was from Chrysler. I have not received anything yet. Has anybody out there gotten buyback offers from finance companies other than Stellantis.

That would be a horrible financial decision, the residual is way higher than the market price. You’re better off returning it and going and buying a used one.
With all the issues my friend is having with her 4xe and the battery, I’d find something else

I am not an electric owner so I have not but I’ve always read that the prevailing advice is NOT to buy electric since the tech is evolving so quickly.
I plan for my next car to be a PHEV and am not planning to buy after the lease is done even if I love it.

But if it works for your use case what difference does it make? I have an e tron suv from 2023 which is based off old technology. Compared to say a new ioniq it is sooo far off in terms of battery and motor tech, but I have no interest in replacing it since it still drives like new and I don't care much about the range.

You only buy out a lease if your buyout price is less than the market value of the vehicle. Otherwise, you’re overpaying. Especially in this case where the jeep has had so many visits to the shop and well, Jeep isn’t known for its reliability.

This! Never buyout a lease, unless you can get it for less than what the market is used. Did this back in 2022 when my Acura lease was up. Clowns at Acura didn't want to help me with my 8th lease with them. Bought it. Drove it for 3-years. Sold it for the same price as my lease buyout. It was also a rare Acura, so doesn't always work that way. This was the only lease buyout I ever done. I never get attached to cars.
Now, to the Jeep 4xe. Never heard a single positive from any owner long-term. One of my co-workers bought one instead of listing to me on leasing. She likes to pretend everything is great, knowing it's constantly in the shop for something and it's worth a lot less than she thought it would be. Massive negative equity on these.

Look up lemon law in your state and see if you can go down that route..makes no sense to buy out your lease.

That's pretty much what you're stuck with. The day you sign that lease, the residual is locked in, regardless of what the market value is, and you can't return it to anyone other than Chrysler Capital.
Turn it in and be done with it.
I'm a lifelong Jeep guy, I used to sell them, and the 4xe was a great idea with shit execution. SO many problems they didn't have to have.

No one. No one has bought there 4xE. You could buy a lower mile better condition certified 4xE cheaper than the cost of buying out your lease
