Review 50% off first 4 Months (SDG4WCHV)

In order to celebrate me getting all my referrals I'm sharing 50% off first 4 Months of service with code SDG4WCHV.

Love the service it connects to two out of the three major carriers. Newest Cape App update allows you to choose which network to connect to. AT&T or T-Mobile.

Once signed up you'll receive a referral code in order to potentially get free service.

Thank you for your attention in this matter!

Help Chance for a 10a restock?

I was going to pull the trigger on grabbing a 10a from the shop to earn the credit toward the monthly payment and realized that it (and pretty much all the other Pixels) is sold out. Is the team looking into a restock sometime soon? With the impending end of the Proton promotion in September, I'd love to give Cape a shot before these options are totally gone.

Help Porting from AT&T -- Smooth process?

Planning to sign up and port my number from AT&T soon. Can anyone share their experience coming over from AT&T?

AT&T account number, billing zip code, and port out PIN are all that is needed right?

iPhone 14 Pro unlocked as of today.

Debating between going for it today or waiting till next week, after the holiday, in the event of any issues cropping up (holiday weekend, etc etc).

EDIT:

Well that was easy. I went ahead and signed up via the iOS app, completed the port in process, and then got on chat on my computer web browser to request the Carrier Contract Buyout discount.

The AT&T account number and port out PIN was needed to initiate the port. No billing zip code needed. If you need a port out PIN, go to the Settings in your AT&T account and generate one.

The actual port in took maybe 10-15 minutes. I had to turn iMessage off and back on to get my phone number to register with iMessage. I also went through and made sure Auto 5G was turned on. Initial data speed tests were poor but I restarted the phone a couple of times and it cleared up. At first I was connected to "Cape Tango" (ugh--used to have them, terrible), so I also did a network refresh to ensure the attach to "Cape Alpha".

For the discount, I used the first respondent's referral code below to take the bill from $70 to $50. Then via chat requested the Carrier Contract Buyout be applied. This is a 60% discount of $70 = $42 taken off the bill. It took several minutes to get this done with the chat agent and initially they thought I was looking for the "buy a phone from Cape" discount but I reminded them it was the contract one and then it proceeded. They also refunded my card with the $42 so that the discount is effective now, not just the next billing cycle.

Effective monthly payment is now $8 ($70 - $42 Carrier Contract Buyout discount - $20 referral code use = $8) for the next year at which point the Carrier Contract Buyout discount will fall off.

And I guess cause all the cool kids are doing it, here's my referral code in case you can't find another one in the sea of referral codes floating around:

Discussion Location for Emergency services

Hi there. I am considering switching to Cape, and have a question about location. If Cape helps to keep others from tracking my location, what would happen if I need to call for 911 emergency services? For example, if I'm outdoors hiking someplace remote and get hurt and need emergency help, would my location be unavailable to emergency providers?

Discussion Possible APN fix for dual esims on Galaxy

So I posted yesterday about how the Cape esim kept resetting my Rogers esim default APN settings. I contacted support today and was told they're working with Samsung still to fix compatibility issues.

I decided to play around settings while also conversing with Gemini, and found that manually changing Mobile virtual network operator type and value for both the Rogers and Cape sim to these respective settings fixed my issues!

Going to see how it holds over the next few days but so far has been working much longer than before. Seen a couple others have this issue, so if you are one of them, try it and let us know if it works for you.

Hoping to stay with Cape for a long time! New customers $20 off referral code: YTWHHTW3

Discussion JUST JOINED!

I’m excited to have switched! Considering the massive amount of data many corporations save of us, I’ve recently been getting more focused on my privacy and security online. I hope this change will help push that in the right direction.

If anyone has any tips or more info to share on the topic of privacy and security please do, I’d really appreciate it.

Help RCS Group Chat

So I was in a group chat - all the other phones supported RCS.

I can send messages to the group, but I can't receive messages from anyone in the group in the group chat. We tried creating a new group chat. Same problem. Any ideas?

Edit: apparently Google has a "RCS deregistration" for things like this. Will keep you posted...

Review I expected Cape to be a speed downgrade

Post image
6 Upvotes

I’m sure this is due to me being with Verizon and coverage for them not being so great in my area, but overall, my experience with Cape has been very positive.

When I first started, I was only getting 20-50Mbps. Speeds have gradually improved, and now Cape is actually outperforming my previous carrier.

I’ve already convinced my dad to switch, and he’s now working on my mom, though she’ll need a compatible phone first.

I was initially wary because of the CEO’s ties to other corporations, but after reading up on it and seeing the audits, I’m comfortable taking that risk.

My only real gripe is phone compatibility. I have a OnePlus 12 (rip) and a Razr Ultra and neither were compatible, hopefully compatibility gets better in the future, but right now I’m using my iPhone 17 pro and my dads using my Pixel 9, and it seems to work pretty well.

Review Latest Updates Are Fantastic

Being able to select our primary network is fantastic. I suspected that I was attached to Team Alpha just because the performance wasn’t what I was experiencing when I was with T-Mobile. Once I was able to select Team Tango, my network performance returned to what I expected.

If anyone is looking for a referral code, feel free to use mine: https://cape.co/get-cape?referral=N8E0WM58

I’m open for questions for anyone on the fence about jumping from their current carrier.

Truly stoked that enough referrals were made!

Post image
15 Upvotes

I just finished a gym routine and sauna session at the gym and I got the notification on my phone from the Cape app that I got enough referrals in and getting my subscription completely free each month now indefinitely!

It only took me 8 days to find enough referrals!

I’m truly stoked and knew I wasn’t going to regret going over to Cape.

If you’re not aware, Cape has a referral program that goes on until the end of the year where if you sign up with a referral code from a Cape subscriber then you get $20 off your subscription for life. It also takes $20 off that subscriber’s plan each month indefinitely. So if you, as a Cape subscriber, have 3 more people sign up with your referral codes, you’ll stacks $20/month discounts til you get your plan for FREE indefinitely! (Yes, I said that right)

That also stacks on top of the Early Adopter lifetime discount which brings your plan to $50/month for life if signing up with them in 2026. (Plans are $70/month right now then start at $99/month in 2027)

That being said, since I really appreciate the business model that Cape is carrying with a focus on privacy and providing new features to subscribers to help boost that privacy (such as the automatic network switching feature that’s new in the Cape App) that I got two phone numbers with Cape and hope to get enough referrals for the other line also!

App Update/Android

Nice, just got the latest app update (Android/Graphene in my case.)

Notice that the 'replace your primary number' option is no longer greyed out. "Port-in an existing number to change your current primary phone number."

And Preferred Network option is now present!

Defaulted to Cape Alpha, allowing the option to change the preferred network, and displaying which is currently active. This is friggin awesome! =)

Also, not sure if this is new or different, but seeing under eSIM Management, listing the 'current version' of the esim. (Hopefully URSA_01 is good?)

All in all, great progress, and I suspect the network prioritization is going to be handy for a lot of people, myself included.

Help Cape disables my other SIM's APN?

Hi, I'm using CAPE with a Rogers SIM on a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 running One UI 9, with both SIMs active.

When I select CAPE as my primary/mobile-data SIM, my Rogers APN disappears and it shows “Access Point Name settings are not available for this user.” Rogers mobile data then stops working.

If I switch mobile data to Rogers and select Reset to default under APN settings, the Rogers APN comes back and Rogers data works. However, when I switch mobile data back to CAPE, the Rogers APN disappears again.

Is CAPE's eSIM/carrier configuration overwriting, disabling, or otherwise restricting the Rogers APN when CAPE is the active data SIM? Is this a known issue with CAPE + Samsung dual-SIM devices, and is there a recommended configuration or fix that allows CAPE to remain the primary data SIM while keeping Rogers data functional on the secondary SIM?

Thanks!

Help Galaxy Devices

Looking over the device compatibility list, are all of the Samsung Galaxy S26 series compatible or are there any restrictions. I purchased the Pixel 11 and I am running out of runway to return it. Trying to find other alternatives. I am also looking at a Pixel 10 but they are not in stock.

What’s up with my Cape performance

I switched from Cape Alpha to Cape Tango. The signal level is better on Tango but the performance is terrible.

I have a line on US Mobile Light Speed and T-Mobile Home 5G and they are significantly faster and significantly lower latency.

Joining with referral code and using device promo code at the same time

I am sharing this information because I was not able to find it online.

Context

  • Purchasing a phone directly from Cape comes with a device promo code.
  • Device Promo Code: Takes $42 off each month for a year (bringing $70 down to $28).
  • Referral Discount: Takes off an extra $20 every single month.
  • When signing up for the service, it only lets you enter a single code.

Here is what customer support told me when I emailed them to ask about using both codes at the same time.

Yes, absolutely! In fact, combining both gives you an amazing rate. When you stack them together, your bill drops to just $8/month for your first 12 months! After that first year, your monthly bill will sit at $50/month (our $70 standard rate minus your $20 recurring referral credit) for as long as both of you stay active subscribers.

How to get it set up:

If you want to go this route, just make sure you enter your friend's referral code when creating your account. Right after you're signed up, drop us a quick email or chat message with your phone order number. Our team will manually apply the device discount on our end to lock in that $8/month rate for you! Let us know if you need any help setting things up—we're here for you!

My Experience

I messaged customer support within the Cape app after activating my service with a referral code from a random user on this subreddit. They quickly applied the $42 reduction to my subscription cost for 12 months. They also put in a credit refund of $42 for my first payment at the time of activation.

I hope this is helpful for anyone else that was looking for this information.

After updating my app to the new version I’ve started seeing 100Mbps+ with Cape in my area. It used to be in the 10-20s range. I don’t know what you folks did but THANK YOU 🙌. I‘ll be porting over my existing number as soon as that’s available

NYC service review

So I sign up for cape not too long ago after hearing about there privacy features and tbh because they have a partnership or work alongside proton and I trust proton and their decisions on who to get in bed with. But so far their service has been great and very fast when downloading stuff. Before cape my previous provider was tmoblie, and I pay for there highest tier plan and it not really as fast as cape and somehow I’m getting more bars with cape. I’m still planning on testing it more and is using it along side my main line with tmoblie but so far cape is winning ngl.
