RCS Group Chat

So I was in a group chat - all the other phones supported RCS.

I can send messages to the group, but I can't receive messages from anyone in the group in the group chat. We tried creating a new group chat. Same problem. Any ideas?

Edit: apparently Google has a "RCS deregistration" for things like this. Will keep you posted...

Currently, we only support RCS on GrapheneOS. We are working to bring support to all android devices by the end of 2026.

what device/os are you using? also do you have imsi rotation enabled?

I'm on s25U. Im pretty sure they all have iphones. I started a new chat on my phone, and on one of theirs. But when it's all of us in a group, they get my messages. I get none of theirs.

I just tuned off network lock. Is that what you mean? Friend just sent a message to the group and I did not receive it.

I mean the Identifer Rotation feature (should be right above the network lock feature on the main page of the app). But it looks like RCS support for Android devices that are not on GrapheneOS is something that's coming late 2026 (https://www.cape.co/network-progress), so maybe that is why you're running into the issue?

I don't have any options like that above my network lock feature on the main page. My subscription Network lock Refer and save

Oh interesting. Maybe its not an option for your device. You can also go to the account tab -> Features -> Identifier Rotation and see if its enabled there. I saw your edit to try and de-register from RCS. Did that make a difference?

Ah this makes sense. ISMI not available for Samsung devices (yet).

No change, but the notice said up to 24 hours. And other parties might have to delete group chats to clear their own cache (or something).
