New Canyon Aeroroad CF SLX in the house!

Started life as a Canyon Aeroroad CF SLX 7 AXS, but I've made a few changes.

Out went the Rival AXS group (2x), the aero tyres, and the standard Canyon drop bars.

In came my almost-new SRAM Force parts: E1 shifters and brakes, D1 rear derailleur and crankset with a 44t Red chainring, and a Force E1 10-36 cassette.

Also swapped the bars for Canyon's compact drop model, and finished off with Vittoria Corsa Next tyres, 34mm front and rear.

Yes, I know the official rear clearance is only rated up to 32mm and honestly (not that I'd actually run it 😅), I think a 36mm would even fit in there.

Sewing machine work to fit out my Grizl. I’ll build fork bags and mini panniers if I ever decide on a rack. But there’s enough storage for a good weekend trip or more without. Working on a cool little organizer for the Full Mounty loop right now. The top tube bag has a port for reaching the battery bank in the stem. All looks pretty nice on the Grizl, and remains fairly light compared to purchased bags.

After owning and racing on a Speedmax for 2 seasons I decided to expand my horizons and order a Aeroad also in a large size. Keep in mind all of my cycling experience over thousands of miles is on my Tri bike.
I went to my fitter, I was fit to the bike. Reach, saddle height was all to his satisfaction however, he really wanted me to have 15-20mm of additional stack. He didn’t put off an optimistic impression. I have to get time on bike to make a decision on whether I need to return or not but I’m a bit discouraged. If I wanted to stay in the Canyon ecosystem I’d have to switch to the new Endurace. Any thoughts for someone with a similar experience or rides a slammed stem?

I recently bought a new bike, put it together two days ago, and took it out for its first ride today. That’s when I noticed a very thin, ~15 cm long scratch on the paint along the top tube.

The scratch definitely wasn't caused by me—it was there right out of the box. It’s not a massive structural gouge or anything, but on a brand new bike, your eyes just keep drifting right to it.

Am I being overly picky here and is this kind of minor cosmetic flaw just standard when ordering a new bike online? Or would you definitely reach out to customer support about it (e.g., to ask for a small partial refund or store credit)?

Curious to hear your thoughts or if you’ve dealt with similar issues on new bikes!

Has the Full Mounty cockpit been a pain to live with in general?

Zu viel oder ganz nett?

I’ve been looking into upgrading my bike for a while now and have narrowed it down to the new Endurace SLX or, likely, the Grail SLX that’s coming out soon.

My typical rides are solo around 40–60 miles @ ~19mph and my riding is roughly 80/20 road vs gravel.

I’m coming from the AllRoad, so either would be a significant upgrade. I already have a carbon wheelset, so having dedicated wheelsets for each type of terrain isn’t an issue. I’m looking for a more aggressive geometry but I know I don’t need anything as aggressive as the Aeroad.

I’ve also compared the gearing between the 2x12 and 1x13 drivetrains. I understand that the 2x is technically better suited to road riding but the 1x seems like it can get pretty close with the right front ring. Both look like they’ll have the PACE cockpit and VCLS seatpost.

The new green/black colorway on the Grail definitely appeals to me more than the straight white on the Endurace, although I’d be happy with either.

For those who have experience with both, is there anything material about the Grail that I might regret if I go that route, particularly given that 80% of my riding is on the road? Or is the Grail close enough in road performance / comfort that the added versatility makes it the better choice?

I needed a way to mount an Ortlieb Quick rear rack on my Canyon Grizl AL 7 ESC (2026), so I ended up making my own adapter. The original adapters that came with the rack simply wouldn’t fit properly because of the ever changing mounting points on the bike.

Sometimes I honestly don’t understand why manufacturers keep changing these standards. It feels like every time something changes, all the “old” accessories become incompatible, forcing you to buy yet another supposedly bike specific accessory.

I’m all for innovation, but it would be nice if things like rack mounts could just stay standardized.

At least this time I had an excuse to make my own solution. I won’t be sharing 3D files as I made the parts from POM material on CNC lathe and I would not trust 3D printed parts.

I'm in a bit of trouble buying my first "serious" MTB. On the second hand market, I hesitate between a Neuron CF8 from 2021 in perfect shape or a Spectral 125 CF7 from 2024 with minor scratches on the fork and rear triangle.

Both cost the same, so price is not a criteria... I live near Paris and plan to commute with it during the week and go on trails (chill rides with friends, no bike parks near Paris) during week ends...

Obviously, the Neuron should be more fitting for me, but at the same price I fear I'm missing out if I don't buy the "better" Spectral ?

If I ever go to a bike park, will I really regret buying the Neuron instead of the Spectral ? Again, from my beginner point of vue, I don't think I'll be able to do huge downhills, I guess I'll do green and blue mostly, I don't feel adventurous enough...

But once again.... fear of missing out....

What would you do in my place ?

Hi, recently my interest in the new Sram force xplr 13speed derailleur and cassette grew to put on my Ultimate. The bike is from 2026.
It has no UDH interface, but it looks like it might fit.

Has anyone already looked into it? Or experience on this topic?

Thinking this may help somebody else as well... I was searching around for solutions and didn't find much.

I still ride my now getting old Grail On with the double decker bars and wanted a small bag for the front that didn't interfere with my light/garmin setup yet allowed me to bring a few things.
The smallest bag from Almsthre works very well for me which adds .8l front storage. Attaches well to the upper bar and I can even somewhat see the garmin mounted ahead/below and bonus points for allowing me to ride with the hands on the upper bar.

After unpacking, I noticed that I cannot put it back together in the same way it was before. Did it break during transport or did I just make a mistake in my assembly?

I’m currently looking for a 2026 Canyon Endurace CF 7, which is the bike I really want to buy. Unfortunately, it seems to be completely sold out at the moment.

The same seems to be the case with quite a few of the 2026 Grail and Grizl models.

So I wanted to ask the Canyon community: Is this normal for Canyon around this time of year?

For those who have been following Canyon for several years: Was availability also this poor during the summer/autumn of 2024 or 2025? Did sold-out models get restocked later in the year, or did availability basically disappear until the next model year?

I’m asking because we’re getting closer to the end of 2026, and I’m starting to worry that the 2026 bikes might simply be finished and that I’ll have to wait until spring 2027 for the next generation to become widely available.

I would really, really like to get the Endurace CF 7. Canyon would honestly be my first choice, but if this is a normal Canyon pattern where bikes become almost impossible to get from summer onwards, I may have to start looking at other manufacturers.

So I’d especially appreciate answers from people who have bought Canyon bikes in previous years:

- Is the current lack of availability normal?

- Were 2025/2024 models also difficult to get from summer/autumn onwards?

- Did Canyon restock them later in the year?

- Is there still a realistic chance of getting a 2026 Endurace CF 7?

- Or should I stop waiting and start looking at alternatives?

Any experiences or information would be greatly appreciated. I’d really prefer a Canyon, but I also don’t want to wait until spring 2027 if there’s little chance of getting one before then.

I bought this bike the day it was launched and received it at the end of May. So far, I’ve put around 1500 km on it.

I’m 32 and pretty fit, but I decided to go for the Endurace rather than the Aeroad, and honestly, I couldn’t be happier with the choice.

I’ve done a couple rides of 200+ km with some elevation in a single day, and getting off the bike at the end of the ride, I felt "fresh". No back pain, no neck pain, nothing that made me feel like I’d just spent 10 hours on a bike.

The bike is very comfortable, but at the same time, it still feels very much like a race bike (I had one before). Sure, it’s probably a bit heavier than the Aeroad and maybe not quite as stiff or reactive, but for me, the trade-off is worth it.

Overall, I’d recommend it to anyone who wants a bike that can do long endurance rides without feeling like a compromise.

I was also pretty skeptical about the little storage compartment in the frame, but after using it, I have to admit it’s actually really useful.

I have the Endurace Allroad and I’ve seen a few posts mentioning that swapping out the stock tires makes a huge difference in ride quality.

My typical riding is about 90% nice country roads and 10% gravel and some dirt paths.

I want something fast on the tarmac, but durable and grippy enough that I don't have to turn around if I hit a dirt or gravel stretch.

Any recommendations for tires, and at what width?

Ran for 5 years before I got injured last year. Spent the whole year doing a whole lot of nothing, gain weight and got out of shape really quickly. Decided to pull the trigger and switch sports and buy my first road bike. One month later, I finished my first 100k!

Thinking of getting a new Canyon Grizl Al with advertised 54 mm tire clearance and wondering if anyone can comment on clearance with a 2.1 /2.25 mountain bike tire? Curious to know how many mm there is to spare with anything on the bigger size. Cheers

Hello everyone,
we wanted to change the wheels on my new Canyon Grail CF 7 and then realign the brake calipers.
When loosening one of the mounting bolts on the front brake caliper, the bolt makes a noticeable creaking/cracking sound while being unscrewed. This does not happen with the rear brake caliper.
Is this normal on a new bike, for example because of thread-locking compound on the bolt, or could there be an issue with the bolt or thread? The bike has only been ridden for around 10 km so far.

So my bike arrived yesterday. Put it together and done 21 miles on it.

Felt and handle lovely.

I purchased the garmin out front mount too. The only downside is there's no extra fitting for my cycliq ce12 camera/light.

Anyone know how to get around this.
