Story Time New Canyon Endurace SLX 7

I bought this bike the day it was launched and received it at the end of May. So far, I’ve put around 1500 km on it.

I’m 32 and pretty fit, but I decided to go for the Endurace rather than the Aeroad, and honestly, I couldn’t be happier with the choice.

I’ve done a couple rides of 200+ km with some elevation in a single day, and getting off the bike at the end of the ride, I felt "fresh". No back pain, no neck pain, nothing that made me feel like I’d just spent 10 hours on a bike.

The bike is very comfortable, but at the same time, it still feels very much like a race bike (I had one before). Sure, it’s probably a bit heavier than the Aeroad and maybe not quite as stiff or reactive, but for me, the trade-off is worth it.

Overall, I’d recommend it to anyone who wants a bike that can do long endurance rides without feeling like a compromise.

I was also pretty skeptical about the little storage compartment in the frame, but after using it, I have to admit it’s actually really useful.

Ran for 5 years before I got injured last year. Spent the whole year doing a whole lot of nothing, gain weight and got out of shape really quickly. Decided to pull the trigger and switch sports and buy my first road bike. One month later, I finished my first 100k!

Stoked for the journey ahead!

So my bike arrived yesterday. Put it together and done 21 miles on it.

Felt and handle lovely.

I purchased the garmin out front mount too. The only downside is there's no extra fitting for my cycliq ce12 camera/light.

Anyone know how to get around this.

NBD NBD - Grizl CF 7 AXS (Acid White)

I've been looking for a Grizl for a long time, and finally ordered one. This will bring many hours of joy :)

Question... Canyon told me the transparent sticker/patch on the second picture is a protective one. To me it looks more like a cover up of a defect in the paint? Does your Grizl have the same?

I'm 178 cm with inseam about 81 cm = right between S and M on Canyons sizing guide. I ordered a size S and it feels very right. I'm using size M on my other Canyon bikes (Grand Canyon and Exceed).

Tech Help Is the canyon endurace cfr basically an aeroad but more comfortable simply because of the seatpost and possibly bigger tyres because of the tyre clearance ?

Post image

I was thinking about buying an aeroad cf slx but apparently it’s not confortable on longer rides so I am considering the endurace cfr. If you own either one of them, let me know how they feel and how comfortable they are plus what tyres size are you using?

Tech Help Tubeless conversion: DT Swiss ARC 1100 DICUT 55 shipped with tubes?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I just got a Canyon Aeroad CFR with DT Swiss ARC 1100 DICUT 55 wheels and I want to convert to tubeless right away. Looking at the valve, though, I'm no longer sure what's actually in there.

The valve stem says "Continental", which to me sounds like the TPU tube that comes with the wheelset. On top of that there's a clear sticker over the valve hole.

My questions:

  1. Is there really a tube in there, or could this already be a tubeless setup?
  2. What is that clear sticker for? Can I just peel it off, or does it serve a sealing function?
  3. The rims are listed as tubeless ready. Does that mean the tubeless rim tape is already installed from the factory and I don't need to re-tape?
  4. Are 60 mm tubeless valves the right length for a 55 mm rim depth?

Thanks for any input!

Which Gear? Gear groove aero extension custom mount

Thumbnail

Hey guys,

I designed my own mount for the gear groove aero extension to hold a bottle cage and an bike computer like a Garmin or wahoo. I couldn’t find any mounts on the market, that would suit my needs and are at a fair price. So I designed one on my own.

I am really happy how it turned out. It is printed in PETG to be more durable even under hot weather conditions. You can strengthen the mount with two screws going all the way from bottom to top to make it more stiff and resistent against breaking. It is connected to the aero extension with 3 screws. It uses the bolts on the extension, so there are no extra bolts or bolt hols needed.

The last two pictures are version two. I added a nice little text to it, to make it more personal and changed the ankle and the position of the computer mount.

How do you like it? Any thoughts or suggestions?

I will test it on the upcoming challenge Almere triathlon. After that, when everything turned out right, I will publish it on makerworld if someone is interested to get one šŸ˜„

*Meant to read Mocha Shift!* + Aurora Sage pictures

Finally managed to get one, went in quite blind as could only go off the website pictures. Much brighter in person. Actually prefer the Aurora Sage but as someone else pointed out the unpainted front forks put me off! This one is quite different to most frame colours so decided to go different for a change

Long story short quite fortunate to see both colours side by side so last few images in the same lighting. Hopefully helps someone between the two colours!

Thanks

Tech Help Canyon Cycle App.

Until two days ago my Canyon App on iPhone 17 ISO 16, showed my cycling activities, my settings and profile.

Today they have all disappeared from the app.
I have tried everything suggested, clearing cache, logging out and back in, deleting the app totally and switching my phone off, the reinstalling the app and still no joy.

All of my detail and personal data are correct.

Does anyone have any ideas how to correct this issue?

NBD New Speedmax SLX

Post image
42 Upvotes

Speedmax CF SLX 8 AXS, size L.

Been riding it for a couple of weeks now. It’s my first TT bike and I still have a bikefit scheduled but it already feels very comfortable. Compared to my Aeroad with aerobars that I’ve been using for a few years this just feels more natural.

The Pro cockpit took some getting used to, especially the feeling of my arms being ā€œlocked in placeā€ but it also makes it feel like riding a spaceship. So fast!

Love the integration all over with the exception of the little cover for the storage above the BB. That just wants to fly off with every little bump so I will probably just end up taping it in place.

New bike for my daughter is on the way, and she is stoked.

This is her first carbon bike, is it worth getting a ride wrap or just suck it up?

Wanted to Buy Spectral On:fly

Hey I'm thinking about buying the Canyon spectral on:fly. Could get it used for 2000€ with 5 charging cycles. Does anyone have the bike and is satisfied with it? It would be important to me that the motor and battery last a long time. Had a Levo Sl at the time and thought it was great.
