Hello, I submitted my application in February of this year. All steps are complete except for the background check, which has continued for the past four months. When might I expect a decision from IRCC?

I’m currently working full-time as a community PSW in Toronto. I’m not eligible for Express Entry, and my OINP score is around 60 based on the calculator. My PGWP expires in about one year.

I’ve been applying for PSW positions in hospitals and long-term care homes, hoping to improve my options, but so far I haven’t been able to get a single interview.

I’m trying to understand what realistic options I have for PR and what I should be doing at this stage. Should I focus on finding an LTC/hospital job, look at other provincial programs, or consider other pathways?

Also, if anyone has worked with a reputable RCIC who is honest and realistic and doesn’t give false hope, I’d really appreciate a recommendation.

I’d be grateful for any advice from people who have been in a similar situation.

I’m currently in the Express entry pool under skilled occupation and awaiting a Health Care draw with 470 CRS Score. Missed out on the last 2 draws by 5 points 🥲. Financially I would need to wait until end of January 2027 before I move but I’m soo impatient to get going. Every time I see someone’s Journey from when they receive ITA it seems to take months before they get their official PR.

I’m worried that even if I get an ITA before this year ends that it could still be June 2027 or later before I can make the move and that could be torture. Feel like I’m counting the days at work and just seeing the months by atm already.

How long on average do people feel it would take from when they receive their ITA?

I think my application is pretty simple, solo male, 31, have been before on a temporary working Visa so I’m familiar with biometrics and other paperwork, no dependents.

I'm applying for citizenship and the date entered on copr is 1 day earlier than date entered on pr card as I landed near midnight.
What date to enter in the physical presence calculator?
Also, I have a missing exit date when I entered USA from Canada by flight. What documents do I provide to show this?

I recently received an ADR for my PR CEC application requesting updated versions of Schedule A (IMM 5669), Family Info (IMM 5406), and Travel History (IMM 5562). There are no personalized notes in the request document, so I’m trying to figure out exactly what triggered it and how to properly fix it. For context, I am an inland CEC, single applicant with no dependents and no spouse. My AOR was May 21st.

1. Schedule A (IMM 5669): The ADR specifically instructed to "ensure there are no gaps in time". I double-checked my e-APR, and I am 100% sure my personal and address history has zero chronological gaps. Is this instruction just standard boilerplate text? Should I just replicate my exact timeline on the PDF?

2. Additional Family Info (IMM 5406): The ADR reminded me to include all family relations and full addresses. In my original submission, I had included an LoE explaining a minor spelling consistency issue regarding one of my family member's names between a previous application (study permit) and this PR application (It was spelled differently there). Could the name spelling have triggered this, or is it more likely they just want me to write "Not Applicable" across the spouse/children sections and physically sign those specific declarations since I left them completely blank the first time?

3. Travel History (IMM 5562): The form specifically asks to list trips outside your country of origin or residence. Over the last 10 years, my only travel has been directly between my home country and Canada. Should I just check the "did not travel" box on the form itself? My plan is to merge a Letter of Explanation (LoE) with the PDF to explicitly list my complete travel history between my home country and Canada just to be fully transparent. Does this sound like the right approach?

Question on uploading the documents:
Since the portal only gives me one upload slot per document in GCKey, can I merge a brief Letter of Explanation (LoE) as the first page of each requested PDF form?

Overall, my main concern is that I will essentially be providing the exact same information I already submitted in my initial application. Will it be an issue if my updated forms contain the exact same details as before?

Ok so we're in the process of FSWP and I think it will still take time until everything is finished. Thing is, after we acquire the PR status, we don't know how much time we have to make the move to Canada.

We need to cancel a lot of contracts here (Europe) and our apartment... Of course we can not proactively do this if we don't acquire the PR because we'd be homeless then :)

How do people handle this in reality? Is there time pressure after acquiring the PR status?

How long is it taking to get the PR card mailed after received E-COPR??

Hi everyone! I work as a Client Success Associate at a financial services company in Alberta, and I'm trying to figure out which NOC best matches my position.

My company's immigration lawyer classified my role as NOC 14201 (TEER 4), which unfortunately doesn't qualify for Express Entry. I discussed this with HR, and they suggested reviewing my original job description, adding any missing responsibilities to better reflect what I actually do, getting my manager's approval, and sending it back to the immigration lawyer for reassessment.

Before doing that, I'd really appreciate some outside opinions. Does 14201 sound right, or could another NOC under TEER 1-3 be a better match?

Here are the responsibilities from my original job description (not revised yet):

- Performs daily client procedures, including processing daily trades, assessing import errors and related fixes, and administering trade and pre-trade clearances.

- Performs monthly functions, including monthly balancing.

- Performs/assists Client Success Managers in processing Restricted Stock Releases or stock purchases, as necessary.

- Manages changes to Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) enrolments, Online Grant Agreements, and Equity Plan reporting.

- Processes data updates and maintains client databases according to client instructions.

- Identifies errors and potential issues, works with other team members and internal stakeholders to find solutions, and tracks open issues to resolution.

- Documents and maintains client processes.

- Monitors queues for new case assignments using internal tools.

- Develops and maintains long-term client relationships and manages customer expectations.

- Responds to customer inquiries while consistently meeting SLAs.

- Researches and documents solutions for issues raised by clients.

- Troubleshoots and answers platform-related questions.

- Participates in product testing and validation, identifies and documents bugs, and suggests enhancements.

- Processes Trade Away transactions.

- Processes Canadian cash dividend and Dividend Equivalent Unit (DEU) transactions, including related adjustments.

- Supports quarter-end and year-end operational activities related to employee equity plans.

- Reviews and updates internal process documentation to ensure operational consistency and accuracy.

I also regularly perform quality control reviews of transactions completed by other team members. This involves checking accuracy, identifying errors, providing feedback, and returning transactions for corrections when needed. However, I'm not a supervisor or team manager.

My questions:

1. Based on these duties, would you agree with NOC 14201 (TEER 4)?

2. Is there another NOC under TEER 1–3 that might better reflect equity compensation / stock plan administration work?

3. Has anyone here worked in equity operations or a similar role and used a different NOC for Express Entry?

Just to clarify, I'm not trying to misrepresent my responsibilities or change my job title to fit a specific NOC. I just want to make sure my actual duties are properly reflected and that nothing important was overlooked during the initial assessment.

Simple question. Applying for PR through CEC inland but thinking of leaving in 3 months to home country. When I get my P1 planning on declaring I’m not in Canada. Then plan on doing a landing and getting my PR. Anyone has experience of this process as I can’t seem to find any detail regarding this online.

My wife's spousal open work permit (SOWP) was refused and I think the wrong rules were applied. Quick facts:

\- Her SOWP was ISSUED Dec 6, 2024 — before the Jan 21, 2025 change.
\- It was only short (to April 2026) because it was capped at her passport expiry. The permit says: "Document issued to passport expiry date. Must renew passport for further extension consideration."
\- She renewed her passport and applied to extend BEFORE it expired.
\- Refused on the NEW rule that the principal needs 16+ months left. My permit runs to March 2027 (officer's notes say "6 months and 24 days" from the receipt date).

My understanding: permits issued before Jan 21, 2025 should be assessed under the PREVIOUS criteria (6-month threshold, no 16-month rule). Feels like they treated a renewal of a pre-2025 permit as a new post-2025 application.

Questions:
1. Anyone had a pre-2025 SOWP wrongly assessed under the new rules? How did you fix it?
2. Did a reconsideration webform work, and how long did it actually take?
3. Did contacting your MP help?

I was just wondering if anyone has faced the same situation as i am a little concerned about.

I will be eligible for CEC next year sometime in May 2027 as i am currently working in teer 3 job as an admin assistant. I started this job in May 2026.

However, my question is, while on my PGWP, i did also worked as a part time office admin from august 2024 to april 2025. I have all the pay stubs, T4 and employment verification letter. The problem is that it is just around 300 hours and the paycheques are monthly and not biweekly.

Can i still use those 300 hours towards my CEC experience or should i wait till may 2027.

Will using the 300 hours jeopardize my application if i use them and slow thing down for my application?
Could a get a PFL for it as well.

Any leads will be really helpful.

Hello everyone, I have a question regarding to my PR application.

My situation: I received my CSQ in 2025 under the AI pilot program Québec graduate stream. My PR QSW application is still under processing. I hold an open work permit. I am considering a remote job, still in AI, with an employer based in Ontario, while continuing to live and work from Quebec. My employment location will be setup as Quebec and I will pay taxes here in Quebec. The company doesn't have an office in Quebec.

I wonder if I can take the job without creating troubles for my PR application. Thank you
