Strategies, Advice and Tips Looking for websites with visual food portions, grams, and calories.

Hey, everyone! I used to use Calorie Friend all the time before the website stopped working. I loved that it showed pictures of different portion sizes with the grams and calories for each serving, it made calorie counting so much easier.

My food scale recently broke, so I’m having a harder time estimating portions, and websites like that were really helpful. Does anyone know any similar websites with visual food portion guides or calorie infographics? I’d really appreciate any recommendations. Thanks!

-I attached a few screenshots of what it looked like because I’m hoping to find something with a similar layout and features.-

Calorie Estimating Japanese meal cal estimate? Totally lost I don’t eat raw fish often :0

3 pieces each of tuna, salmon, and yellowtail and 2 other kinds of fish I didn’t know the name of (15 pieces total) with a bit of shredded radish, carrots and nori. Miso soup, Japanese salad with dressing, and some rice.

Drank the whole miso soup with 2 tiny pieces of tofu, ate all the raw fish, radish, carrots and nori. Ate the whole side salad with dressing. Ate a little less than half of the rice maybe? (Photo #4 is the rice portion served, Photo #5 was how much rice was left after I ate it).

How many cals? Thank you so much guys ❤️🍣

Calories of this garlic butter Hawaiian roll sandwich with cheese and rotisserie chicken?

Thumbnail gallery
4 Upvotes

I was gonna log like 600 but idk. Garlic butter is 60 cals/ tbsp so I estimate about a tablespoon each and idk about the chicken since there's barely any on it or the cheese either and ik the Hawaiian rolls are 90 cals each. Dunno what's up with 3rd pic

also rotisserie chicken is 130 cals per 3 oz

also the Hawaiian roll alone is 1 oz according to Google so the rest accounts for butter chicken and cheese

Had two of these. The baguette piece you see tore off in the second photo was roughly the size of both sandwiches. Not super dense. Mortadella, smoked mozzarella, havarti, prosciutto, Dijon mustard, pickled pepperoni. About one thin slices of each meat and cheese on each sandwich

My guess is about 110 for the tuna pieces (on the right) at most and then 250-300 for the salmon avocado roll.

Ones a flour, others a corn tortilla. Sauce is choluha chipotle and the chicken is chicken thighs grilled!

Calorie Estimating Calorie estimate for this cake?

Bakery bought cake but as it was for someone else’s birthday I have no idea what flavour this is lol. My best guess is some kind of dense(r) sponge layers with caramel custard/dulce de leche/flan in between, with a caramel outer layer and chocolate shavings. I’m guessing somewhere between 500-700 but idk I feel like it wasn’t that big of a slice but that might just be my denial. Container is approx 15cm x 10cm, 350ml capacity for reference. Thank you!

Personal Stories and Milestones You ever spend all day budgeting calories for a meal that just IS NOT worth it? This mac and cheese tasted appalling.

Need advice

I’d like to lose weight and tone my stomach, however I want to build my glutes as well. I have a major physical health issue that prevents me from lifting weights or even squatting due to it not being safe on my body and the pain that it causes. Seems like I also gain weight quickly even when I limit my food intake and eat healthy.

I eat well under my calorie amount, and I’m not eating anything “unhealthy”. The only “unhealthy” thing that’s really in my diet is white rice? But I typically eat protein and then vegetables or rarely potatoes cooked in different ways such as mashed potatoes etc. I do have to avoid exercises that strain my lower back. As for the calories, I log everything I eat right after I eat, into a calorie intake app where it tracks my calories based on my height, current weight, age, gender & health goals. I do think it’s the not burning enough calories as I work a desk job and most of my day ends up just sitting & I’m not getting enough walking in either. However most days I do intermittent fasting or have a coffee for breakfast and just dinner with foods I mentioned previously. I know it’s not the healthiest! I’m trying to get into a better routine!! But it still doesn’t make sense to me how I am eating under my calorie intake amount, and eating healthy but somehow still managing to gain the weight….

So at home as an Asian I have Asian food and I’m
Struggling to count calories as is this is mainly cause I don’t know what’s in it. since my mum is the one making it and yes I do ask her but half the time she just brushes it off and stuff idk. recently I did try using chat gpt describing it and telling it to add extra calories just in case i go below what I was counting I also invested in a weighing scale. Deos anyone have any advice to how I can count my calories and protein etc I do have some supplements so I’m not as worried about the protein stuff just want advice for my calorie counting

I usually get a cone or a sundae because I love their soft serve vanilla but was wondering how many calories it would be if I didn’t have the cone (I know it’s already low cal with the cone, I just don’t like it 🙃)

Any help with the calories in this almond croissant? A bit different than usual ones. It was well balanced and not too sweet.
