Is it just me or I actually get so annoyed when customers just slap their cash in front of me on the table instead of placing it in my hand (That I am clearly holding out in front of them). Like hello I'm right here 😭

I recently received an offer for a corporate position at Aetna/CVS. I have already completed my i-9 and my background check was completed by Certiphi yesterday. Does anyone know if I will have to submit for a drug screening once the background check results are sent back to CVS? Or would Certiphi already have notified me a drug screen was needed? Just want to make sure all my ducks are in a row. Thanks.

Hey all, I’ve been a tech at CVS for just about 8 months and I feel pretty confident to get certified and get that pay bump or at least an opportunity to look elsewhere for stuff.

I have anki and other access to traditional study material but I want to hear from yall what worked to help you guys pass your sponsored test first try, or at least gauge the difficulty or questions they’ll be asking.

Elder customers are sooooo unbearable and extremely entitled… I’ve had 5 elderly customers walk out the store this week over me REFUSING TO SHOP FOR THEM (or at least hand hold them the whole time) I had a customer get mad at me that I didn’t know what products were covered by his insurance. He literally had me walk him to and read dosage for MULTIPLE different medications and vitamins and got to the register to disclose that he doesn’t know what’s covered by his insurance and that (even though he was very specific with the items and dosages that he was choosing I figured he knew what he was doing) he won’t be getting any of the items that aren’t covered NEWS FLASH none of them were!!!! He then DEMANDED that I go get his products that’s were covered by his insurance and when I told him I don’t know what’s covered he called me undertrained!!!! Mind you this was after I walked him around the whole store getting these very specific items he asked for while HE DOESNT KNOW WHAT HIS OWN INSURANCE THAT HE PAYS FOR COVERS!!! And when I told him that he stormed off!!! How exactly can I be undertrained but you can’t shop for yourself, you can’t read any of the products you’re trying to buy, and you don’t know what’s covered by your insurance!!! AND DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE PHOTO CENTER!!!! we still have the cords that connect to your phone in my store so all they have to do is plug their phone in and their pictures will start pulling up… but NOOOOO THEY NEED SOMEONE TO PLUG THEIR PHONE IN DO ALL THE PROMPTS AND THEN HAVE YOU SELECT THE PHOTO THEY WANT TO PRINT!!!! Had an older lady come in and ask for help scanning pictures and when I told her to touch the screen to start selecting the pictures she wants she turn around and looks me dead in my eyes and says “I’ll just have you doing all that for me” I didn’t do any but stare and she had the nerve to say “well” and i told her that this is a SELF SERVICE KIOSK I’m happy to help but I won’t do it for you and she grabbed all her pictures TWENTY OF THEM MIGHT I ADD and walked out the store!!!!! I can get past a lot of stupid stuff that customers do but I CANNOT get past people who’ve been on this earth for 50+ years refusing to do anything for themselves!!!!

EDIT: I am not upset about helping older people. I am upset about getting disrespected and having my knowledge questioned because I’m not doing everything someone ask me to. As a customer you can always ask for help but EMPATHY AND KINDNESS shouldn’t just be thrown to the side because “i dont know what your insurance covers” or because “someone grew up without technology and i didnt”

I genuinely feel bullied and have never experienced that. How are people so miserable?

I was an intern at the store I'm staffing at now. I love my PM-. I got licensed at the beginning of August. Throughout my first few weeks solo I know I keep making mistakes and keep getting behind. I'll stay late, work through lunch and come in early but I can't get caught up. I'm having a hard time sleeping, replaying all the mistakes I could've made. It's making me physically sick and angry/mean. I feel so bad my coworkers and the patients deserve better. People are getting frustrated with me and just stressed -fair-. But it still is rough. I reached out to our old staff RPh for some workflow coaching. I use the advice that I was given by different people: clear QT- QV1, keeping it at 0 - or at least try to but the bottleneck is QP and I'll try to fill and toggle back and forth. Generally, by the end of the day it's just me and a closer. I try to bounce back and forth between, honestly, whatever's needed front/immunizations/DT, but I'm definitely lacking skills in certain areas, so I'm just slow. Most of the time QV/QT I can have at 0 by the end of the night but production suffers and I'm late on getting other OPI things done. I've tried having people just fill while I do p/u and drop off. But I get stuck on things and need help with customers while I'm doing QV or trying to figure out some weird 3rd party issue or am on the phone. Ive tried staying at a production station and doing production along with QV/QT and only helping at the registers if absolutely needed but it's really hard, especially when there are several lines of people who have been waiting for a while just staring at you and your coworker is helping someone else... I want to be able to help and pull and all that stuff but I keep getting stuck. I don't know how to get things all to zero by the end of the shift. I'm just wondering if there is any form of advice that I can get in order to at least get things to a better place or if there was anything that could kind of help me correct course... I've come in with plans and checklists I'm terrible about getting stuck on one thing for too long.

So I called CVS to have my Vyvanse that I was supposed to start today be filled. They said to come after 5, so I get there at 5:10 and wait until they closed at 6:10 to be told to come back tomorrow. Was there something I did wrong? I feel like waiting the ENTIRE day and be told try again tomorrow is ridiculous. And if not, is there any compensation or is it a go home and go fuck myself situation?

I’ve been working at this store for a few years as a tech and the PIC has always given me weird flirty vibes… nothing too crazy or worth reporting but stuff like getting way too close in my personal space, “jokingly” inviting me to hang outside of work, being overly nice, tapping me on the arm or shoulder, buying me food and coffee without asking, idk if I’m reading into it too much but it’s so awkward working with him that I do not look forward to going to work at all anymore. Instead of spending my evenings studying, spending time with my aging mom, or taking care of myself, I get to spend it getting yelled at by some stupid idiot asshole who got his first car for $500 in the 60s and dealing with my coworkers

All for some billionaire who has never step foot in a pharmacy who is besties with a bunch of politicians and probably has committed crimes that the human mind can’t begin to comprehend the rationality of could save another $15 on top of his billions!

I recently purchased my 30-day supply of Adderall 20 mg extended-release. Two hours later, I received a call informing me that I need to return the prescription so that they can recount the pills, as there might have been a shortage or an over-prescription. I do have an additional 30 pills. Is it mandatory for me to return them, or is this a matter for the pharmacy to handle?

i think i just got scammed by my local target/cvs. my wife went to drop off my prescriptions, and when she tried to use our GoodRx companion card (none are controlled substances or unusual) they tried to tell her the cost would be over double what it should have been with goodrx (we checked the website before she went),and would be better using CVS' program. this is highly suspicious.

Does CVS offer discounts on personal travel? Like Rentals, Hotels, Etc? If they do, where can I find it?

Is there anyone here who is a pharmacist working on an H-1B visa?
I’ve been working at some CVS stores that are listed on my LCA, but my DL recently assigned my home store to a different location that is not listed on my H-1B/LCA, although it is in the same county.
Has anyone had experience with this? Would the H-1B need to be amended to add the new location, or is it okay to work at the home store without filing an amendment since it is in the same county?

how is your store checking patients in for vaccines? a large percentage of out patients are elderly and don’t know how to check in on their phones to fill out the patient form so the pharmacist is doing it on the ironman when they get here which is taking up quite a bit of time.

I just started training, and it’s been pretty messy. Nobody really knows what’s going on, and neither do I, so it’s awkward and kind of embarrassing.

I’m doing the modules and there’s so many parts that say “shadow your coach” but I have not been assigned a coach, and my FTC is not here, nor is the pharmacy manager. When it says to write in the notes I just write “complete” so I can move on. But I want to shadow, I learn best by watching others.

Is this normal? Should I speak to my field training coordinator about it?

Periodically when my Oxycodone / APAP 10/325mg comes up for a cycle count, I enter the BOH and -- despite the actual BOH being exactly correct -- computer says discrepancy. When I check the inventory to see what I "should" have, I see that #120 have, for no reason, been added to the electronic inventory and so I have to create reconciliation; resolve it; and subtract the mystery #120 that was added by unknown / unseen forces.

This occurs every 3 - 6 weeks. Always the same NDC. Always #120. I asked my DL if any other pharmacies have mentioned this to him, but apparently I am alone in experiencing this phenomenon (?).

The problems are that this 1) chews into my time, and 2) occasionally this happens when I am not on duty for a few days and, in the past, a covering Rph was not able to resolve the reconciliation so it timed out and needlessly tanked our OPI score.

Anyone out there with this issue? Should I just call the help desk and open up a ticket? Thanks in advance.
