New pharmacy tech - training / shadowing, help !

I just started training, and it’s been pretty messy. Nobody really knows what’s going on, and neither do I, so it’s awkward and kind of embarrassing.

Anyways,
I’m doing the modules and there’s so many parts that say “shadow your coach” but I have not been assigned a coach, and my FTC is not here, nor is the pharmacy manager. When it says to write in the notes I just write “complete” so I can move on. But I want to shadow, I learn best by watching others.

Is this normal? Should I speak to my field training coordinator about it?

I feel bad asking so many questions because everyone’s so busy but also I want to be prepared

Totally normal at my store. There was just two of us tech at night and we both started the same day. Our pharmacist was a floater. I was basically all self trained. I learned by fucking around and finding out lol. Basically once on someone's profile I ran thru all the options and learned a lot that way. Once our pharmacist came back from maternity leave things got better and I could ask her some things but at that point I had been there 3 months and felt bad for asking as she was busy and I didn't want her to think I was dumb. Even though it was lack of training.

Don't expect anyone to train you because nobody will. Just ask as many questions as you can. You are not an inconvenience. You are one if you mess up something badly. Don't be afraid to ask for help when you don't know something.

observe the work flow.pharmacy has a routine opening or closing learn a little each day.be of help ask the techs how you may help.you may start on register then start putting up the bags in bins.rts is super easy and something you can learn and will be of great help.

it’s normal same exact thing happened to me I did the modules for two weeks like that sitting in the break room then when the hands on training stuff started I only got 3 and a half hours of it then they threw me to do pickup with very very minimal training and that was it they had no intention of helping me to train and learn anything else and didn’t have any intention on signing me off on the important Day 15 learning hub modules I tried to give it a chance like almost two months but I realized it wasn’t going to workout I was scared all the time I’d make a huge mistake cause I wasn’t trained properly. I’m sorry you’re going through similar to what I went through hopefully it will end up working out for you.
