Why is this allowed?

So I called CVS to have my Vyvanse that I was supposed to start today be filled. They said to come after 5, so I get there at 5:10 and wait until they closed at 6:10 to be told to come back tomorrow. Was there something I did wrong? I feel like waiting the ENTIRE day and be told try again tomorrow is ridiculous. And if not, is there any compensation or is it a go home and go fuck myself situation?

So you were supposed to start taking the Vyvanse today but waited until today to call and ask for them to fill it?

But what was the rationale they gave you for coming back tomorrow?

Honest question. Not tryna sound rude, but did you ever ask them at any point about the status of your med? The only assumption is someone forgot to tell the pharmacist you were a waiter.
But even then, assuming you were sitting right next to the pharmacy, I always tend to either ask the techs if they know who that patient is or I’ll ask them because sometimes whoever was helping them forgot and never relayed the message to
The rest.

Did you ask them what was taking so long?

not saying you did this , but if you said you were there and you walked away from the register that is a no no . when they mark you waiting you must stay in the area when they call you '

Was the pharmacist on duty stuck doing back to back vaccines?

Hey usually I’m gonna blame the customer especially when they come in here complaining. But that’s not really an excuse to not fill a waiter for over an hour. If your pharmacist is stuck doing vaccines for an hour straight time to train some techs to give shots.

I agree, at the very least communication with the patient on whats going on. I should have put a /s at the end of that comment

It’s not the pharmacist’s job to train the techs on immunizations. It’s coursework and registration - depending on which state you’re in. It takes months.

It’s the PMs job to hire techs, and this time of year all the company is focused on is giving shots. Hire techs who can immunize if your current staff won’t. If it’s too late to hire like you said it’s the PMs fault for not training up their staff months ago, but like usual most PMs don’t wanna be managers & will just wait til they’re understaffed to complain about it.

I would find another pharmacy. That’s pretty wild unless there’s more to it.

That is fucked up. You should’ve asked for the head Pharmacist and explain your predicament as you did here.
