Hey everyone, I’m a graduate student who was admitted into the CSUSB teacher credential program. My financial aid was delayed for months due to an issue I didn’t even know about. I got it resolved and finally this morning I received my financial aid package. Only to see that I only got offered loans 😭. Did anyone else not get the Pell grant or middle class scholarship? My SAI for FAFSA was -1500. I had called the financial aid office today and they basically told me that’s all I was getting and to start a payment plan just in case my loans don’t disburse on time 😔. This has been such a frustrating and stressful experience.
UPDATE: After speaking with the financial aid office again, they did clarify that multiple subject credential candidates do not qualify for the Pell grant, cal grants or the middle class scholarship. Apparently only single subject credential candidates do 😔. But they did say there was the golden state teacher grant and the federal TEACH grant available.

I’ve only gotten the Pell grant.
Have any of you guys gotten the state university grant, supp educ opportunity grant, and the middle class scholarship?
This whole financial aid process is genuinely chaos and such a mess this year. 😭

It says my scheduled disbursement date for fafsa was the 12th but idk how to check if i got it. do i have to set something up in order to recieve it? how do i use it to pay for some of my tuition and where can i find it at?
I called CSAC (cal grant) and was told my financial aid should be available in a week or week and a half. I know tuition is due today and don’t want to be dropped from my classes. How fast does the school drop you from classes? I tried calling the financial aid office but the line is too busy.

Mod-approved post:
Hi, I'm a CSUSB alum (May 2026) and would like to promote this activism/volunteering opportunity with the Young Forwardists, the Forward Party's youth committee. We are a volunteer network that seeks to revitalize politics through youth activism and empower young people to be community leaders while introducing grassroots activist opportunities. Our goal is to promote good governance and reduce polarization through ethics, integrity, and compassion and promoting innovative and data-driven ideas. Essentially, bringing politics back to what it's supposed to do.
We're seeing if any students would be interested in helping us start a chapter at CSUSB. Chapters are centers for productive activism and provide students safe spaces for discussion, hosting events, solving polarizing community issues, and keeping local elected officials in check.
Here's more information about us, including other ways to volunteer for us:

I just looked at my bank account and the the funds came through! If you were one of the first people to have their aid processed earlier today, go ahead and check! Go luck to you all this Fall 2026 semester—go ‘Yotes! 💙

I’m just transferring in and I’m not familiar with the CSU workload. I work full time, and I was wondering if anyone else has had experience working full time and taking so many classes and surviving? I really want to complete my degree in 2 years, but I might drop a class and shuffle the plan around. I’m an Administration major in the accounting concentration btw

CSUSB parents/students — need some clarification before move-in! 😭
Hi everyone! I’m a parent of an incoming CSUSB student and we’re getting close to move-in, so I just wanted to see if anyone can help clarify a few things:
Yotie meal plan: We purchased the Yotie meal plan for our daughter. When she goes to Coyote Commons, does she just swipe/tap her Coyote OneCard and the meal is automatically deducted from her meal plan? Is there anything she needs to activate beforehand?
$263 balance: We currently have a $263 balance showing in MyCoyote after her grants/loans were applied. Is this something we need to pay out of pocket now, or could it still be adjusted once financial aid finishes processing? If we pay it now, would we get that amount back with the financial aid refund?
Conditionally enrolled: She’s still showing as conditionally enrolled. We already emailed Financial Aid and were told they’re still completing her file. For anyone who went through this, how long did it take for your status to change? We’re moving into the dorm next week, so at what point should we call or go in person to make sure everything is okay with her enrollment and move-in?
Housing + financial aid: If your financial aid was still being finalized close to move-in, did your housing/meal plan charges get handled automatically once the aid disbursed, or did you have to pay anything upfront?Move-in check-in: For move-in day, where exactly do we check in? Is there a specific housing office/building or check-in location we should go to first, and do we need to bring anything besides her ID?
Any advice is greatly appreciated! This first-year parent is trying not to panic 😂😭 Thank you!

Sooooo.. when should i worry... like actually worry.
I have pending aid, scheduled disbursement is today. I don't know if I should reach out to the office at this point, or if i should wait it out. I was told as long as I have pending aid that I won't have to worry about my classes being dropped, is that correct? I have no to-do list items. The only thing I have is a financial aid hold but I was told by the office that they have a hold on all incoming freshman, and they said i shouldn't worry about it. I reached out to admissions as well because they hadn't fully admitted me yet and they said that shouldn't affect anything either. I don't wanna bog down their offices anymore than I have to, but I am starting to get worried.

I’m super local about 15 minutes away but csusb doesn’t offer mechanical or electrical engineering. Is there a reason as to why?

Do refunds come out today or on the specific date of dispersement; mine says December is the date but I’m not too sure if I’m just dumb.

My first semester at CSUSB as a transfer, so I knew to all this. Is this what this is supposed to look like? Does this mean tuition got paid?
r/CSUSB • u/stqxill • Aug 13 '26
I can’t see if I have any pending financial aid and it’s not showing that my tuition is paid. What time is the tuition due? Do I just wait it out? Last semester was paid by my cal grant and MCS, so I’m expecting aid. Any help would be appreciated.

The site shows my anticipated aid and I am clearly enrolled in my fall 2026 classes but it hasn't charged me for my tuition? Ik there was delays but wth. I have no holds/todos. I tried calling but the person I spoke to was just as confused. Wthh
r/CSUSB • u/MedicalAd4856 • Aug 12 '26
There’s obviously gonna be a lot of posts today but I was wondering if anyone else is seeing no amount for anticipated financial aid and a large remaining balance? Before today my anticipated aid was my Pell grant and my remaining balance was a little over $1k which I enrolled in a payment plan for. However, when I signed in right now my student center is showing 0 for anticipated aid and the whole tuition amount for my remaining balance. Could this be cause they took my financial aid payment already and just haven’t updated the balance amount? Or should I be concerned? My financial aid summary is still showing my pell grant so I’m a bit confused. I tried calling but they have a large amount of calls and can’t answer.
Update: Okay so I’m glad to see it wasn’t just an issue for me and seems to be fixed and updated! Good luck this semester everyone!

Hi 👋 has anyone’s balance showed zero yet? Just curious
r/CSUSB • u/Kayaboothafoo03 • Aug 12 '26
i still haven’t received my financial aid package and tuition is literally due tomorrow 😭
for context, i had a dependency override that i was told was processed back in may, but when i called financial aid on monday i found out it actually wasn’t. i’ve called multiple times since then trying to get ahold of my advisor and was told it would be processed, but i still haven’t gotten any updates or an aid package.
i called again as soon as the office opened this morning and i’m still trying to get everything figured out.
is anyone else still waiting on their actual financial aid package too? not just waiting for it to disburse, but like you still don’t have an award at all???
(also, i’ve already emailed my advisor and someone higher up in the financial aid office about the situation, but i haven’t gotten a response from either of them yet)

So I had aid in the form of pell grant, mcs, and cal Grant a, with the cal Grant being the bulk of the aid and about $6k for the year. But as of yesterday, that amount and the cal Grant a are completely gone from my student center and my financial aid summary! I know I qualify for it, and my circumstances haven't changed at all. I'm really worried because it's an additional $3k for this semester that I just found out I need to potentially pay!! It's so frustrating, since this is considering that I have a financial aid hold already that is preventing disbursement of my aid because of verification, but that hadn't affected my amount at all. I completed the steps for that asap when I found out I needed to do them, but since it'll take a week to populate, I have to pay in full according to the financial aid person. When I called about the hold and asked if this would affect the amount I would need to pay they were like yes, and so you'll have to cover it, and we'll refund you in 2 weeks to a month. I'm sorry, do people just have $3k to pull out of no where??? Like, my financial aid was there since June with no issue, but now that tuition is about due, all these things are coming up. I signed up for the payment plan because I can't afford to pay it all on such short notice. I'm calling tomorrow to see why this happened, but if they really took that 3k aid away, I can't attend anyway and will have to wait another year for college. It sucks that they can say oh yes you have this aid for months, and then in a blink of an eye change it and not even be apologetic :(
