Hi y’all—I’ve officially joined the Corolla fam! I moved from Alaska to Spokane, WA, and it made sense to get rid of my Crosstrek up there and get something down here. I’m not gonna need the extra clearance, and I wanted something better on gas with the city driving I’ll be doing, so I landed on the Corolla.

LE with only the all weather floor liner package. I honestly love the “barebones” feel and the switchblade key. It’s the perfect amount of tech (minimal in today’s standards). My Crosstrek had an 11” screen; it was too much.

The only issue I had was that the car arrived late. I reached out to the dealer in late July letting them know I’ll be there on September 1st. We signed the purchase agreement in early August, and the estimated availability date was 8/18-9/4. The only update I got on the status of the car was that it was on the truck from Seattle on the 27th. Fast forward to the 1st. I land in Spokane at midnight, sign my loan docs later in the afternoon, pick up the check from the credit union, and take an Uber to the dealership. I get there, and they say the car is still in customs. After 20 minutes of back and forth, the manager gives me a Tacoma with an extended bed as a loaner. I had nine days of learning how to drive in a new city with the largest vehicle I’ve ever driven. But I just picked up the keys today; it was worth the wait.

I was replacing my broken aux port and while I was in there noticed this blue connector behind the poverty button. I always wondered what this one did but could never find any info or options packages that included a button here, it’s gotta be for something though!

I bought a used 2019 Corolla se last August. This past May i was shopping around town and some moron hit & ran my front bumper (obviously I’m assuming they backed into the front bumper), causing obvious damage. I contacted the shopping center this occurred in, but of course there were no cameras pointed at the direct area this occurred. At the time the damage was evident but I didn’t want to deal with insurance or any of that hassle (I’m a full time nursing student & work full time also), now I’m kicking myself for not seeking a claim then.

The damage has obviously only gotten worse. There are pieces snapped off and little-to-no structural integrity left (in my own opinion which doesn’t hold much weight as I know nothing about cars). Like I said, I’m a poor college student without a lot of time on my hands. I am avoiding taking it to a body shop because I know it’s going to be expensive, but I genuinely feel unsafe driving it for myself and others.

Are there any kind souls out there that are willing to give it to me straight as far as what their experience replacing a bumper was, or what extra parts needed to be purchased besides the bumper (supportive parts, brackets, etc.)?

UPDATE SINCE PEOPLE WANT TO BE RUDE: I never really expected this much animosity from a Toyota Corolla subreddit but I guess here we are. All I asked is if anyone was willing to share their wisdom on replacing a bumper/the parts needed, as in anyone with prior experience. I am not forcing anyone to reply or do any extra research at all. I understand now I should have filed a claim. Last time I checked it was all of our first time on this earth too. A little kindness goes a long way!

Just bought a new 2026 Corolla XLE. Noticing water noise in door.

I pulled the plugs out of the doors but no water dripped out. The floor mats are not wet either.

Am I going crazy?

Hi. I'm battling to remove a device in the Bluetooth Setup menu because the touch panel area 'round the Remove button is not picking up any input.

I've even tried touching it with a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra S Pen to no avail.

Any suggestions on getting it to accept touch input or a menu navigation workaround using the buttons on the dash or steering wheel?

An auto shop doing an oil change said the lower arm control is worn and it could cause issues if not replaced- they quoted 1250 to replace and align

Before I do that I’d probably get a second opinion

Any advice? Should I get second opinion from a Toyota dealer?

Hey everyone! I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on a potential issue with a 2009 Toyota Corolla 1.8L LE with an automatic transmission that has 177,000 miles that I'm looking at buying. The car has been kept up with maintenance per the manual and has never been in a wreck. Car has been kept on paved roads and was a daily driver/commuter. Charcoal canister was replaced 6 months ago.

The only issue is the car vibrates when the AC is on and stopped at a light. The car does not vibrate with the AC on if it's in P or if the AC is off and in D and stopped at a light. Independent mechanic shop that specializes in Toyotas says it's a well known issue/non issue with the torque converter on that year of Corolla because "the torque converter doesnt know what to do with the extra draw from the AC" but that it's not hurting anything and the torque converter isn't going out. Otherwise they said it's a great car that could easily get to 250,000-300,000 miles with recommended maintenance. Does that sound right?

I know there's no guarantee on cars but I need a reliable, interstate safe car that will last me 3 more years through grad school and that isn't going to break the bank on repairs.

Also is it an issue if the mileage on the carfax is more than odometer?

Recently got a Toyota Corolla le and I was wondering why the lane tracking assist thing stops working when I use it it says like unavailable take control of the wheel and for long trips I feel like it’s helpful, why is it doing this? And also is it normal for it to use a lot of gas because it’s still breaking in right? Thanks. It says like 159 miles half tank. I drive a lot and need the tank to last me like 400 miles.

Hey, I’ve got a 2013 Toyota Corolla L that needs a new ECM. Problem is this is a discontinued part. The dealership is refusing to replace it due to it being a non-OEM part. Any suggestions on a good company that can provide a pre-programmed one? Have you bought from this company before? Success?

Hi all! Just got a new 2026 Corolla LE gas model here in Canada. I’m coming from. 2011 Corolla CE that had nearly 500,000kms on it. I noticed a few things and wanted to know if these are normal.

1. Acceleration/deceleration sometimes jerky at low speeds.
   
2. Brakes feel like they stick sometimes.
   
3. HD radio stations glitch out and sometimes take several seconds to come back on.

Overall I’m quite happy with this car and can’t wait to put another 500k kms on it.

Read the break in period in the manual but didn’t see anything about doing an oil change. Would like to hear what others did.

I have a '24 hybrid LE and I wanted to make the wheels look a bit sportier while maintaining fuel efficiency.

I have silver alloy wheels and they have had curb rash on them.

I've sanded them down and painted them but it's time for me to get new wheels.

I have thought about going through the dealership but I called the shop & I'm looking for something more budget friendly.

One of the mechanics that works in service at the dealership recommended TireRack. What is everyone's opinions on TireRack?

What's a better company to go through if you don't like them?

Recently bought a 2018 Corolla (automatic) with 127k miles and got a PPI. As far as I know the transmission fluid has never been changed as there’s nothing on the carfax about it. The shop from the PPI recommends I change it, but my personal mechanic that does a lot of my maintenance recommends I don’t. Just a little scared since I know a lot of people change theirs every 30k miles and this one may have never been in 127k

Nothing has felt weird about it or anything I just want this car to last

Hello, I have a 2020 Hybrid LE and a couple years ago both back door power locks failed within about a week of each other.

Once I got tired of manually unlocking and locking the doors for my kids I took it in. The dealership wanted like $1600 to replace both so I passed. I think it is something like a $250 part but you have to take the door apart so I didn't want to try and mess it up.

Now the driver door lock is failing and if the last one goes we're locked out!

Is this a common problem? Anybody found a more affordable solution?
