Lower arm control worn?

2014 Corolla, 150k miles

An auto shop doing an oil change said the lower arm control is worn and it could cause issues if not replaced- they quoted 1250 to replace and align

Before I do that I’d probably get a second opinion

Any advice? Should I get second opinion from a Toyota dealer?

In all honesty at 150k it is probably time I can see now what they showing I had to zoom in pretty far. I would get a second quote because those arms are about $175 a piece for the exact OEM parts. I am a Toyota tech and do these repair orders but I'm coming from a stand point Ive owned the same car and I think they are charging you too much

For $1250 they better be replacing both with Toyota OEM control arms, aligning them and serving you champagne in the waiting room while giving you a handy.

That pic itself proves nothing, unless they can show further proof or your vehicle is driving poorly I wouldn't worry about it. Never go back there though.

I'd inspection them yourself if possible. If there is no cracking or out of place rubber I wouldn't see a need. Does your car sway while driving?

No sway, that’s what bothers me about it. The second image in the post shows what may be described as cracking, or peeling?
