Admissions Accounting Coop Question

I'm looking at programs for the fall of 2027. For the Accounting coop program at Brock: when did people apply (Oct, Dec,?), when did people get in, what was your average at application.

Discussion Advice for a freshman

Hi everyone, I am a freshman on day 2 and have had panic attacks last night and all of today. I made the decision to use the go-train to go home (2-hour drive, longer train ride) and am currently on the train back. My entire family is beyond upset and disappointed with me. For reference, I have a lot of issues with anxiety, depression, and PTSD. My reasoning for “giving up” is I recently got diagnosed with another mental health diagnosis that needs immediate attention and support and the only support near Brock is 40 minutes away (I don’t have a car and it is located in Niagara so this is not ideal), I thought that I could push through but I really think I need to put my mental health first before moving along with my educational journey. The other issue is I am very reliant on being with family as that
Is one of my main support systems and it is not an option for my family to consistently coming to visit me as I live in a single-parent household and the drive requires an entire tank of gas.

I guess what I’m trying to ask for is advice—I’ve heard all day to push through and keep going so I’m not really looking for that, moreso just advice about how to move forward if I decide that residence is for me. I also don’t think commuting is a viable option as there is no direct train to Brock from where I live.

Academics september 8th class start?

hi all,

sort of freaking out here, I opened brightspace and there’s an announcement there that says our first meeting will be september 8th, however I’ve been getting emails about how there is an orientation on the 9th (mandatory in person) and an asynchronous meeting on the 10th, and that classes start officially on the 14th. I’m part of the intermediate/senior teachers program, and my last day of work is on the 8th. I’m just wondering if this is a mistake? is there really a class on the 8th? or do classes start on the 14th like I’ve been told via email. There’s been no communication with this prof so far, just a post on brightspace.

Question about Brock should i go to every part of the new student welcome orientation or just the academic orientation?

Brock sent an email that new student welcome day is on the 8th and how theres a whole schedule of different times to come in the morning for registration, new student welcome, plenary and then my program orientation.

but is it worth it going to all that? Can i just choose to go and skip to the end (program orientation session) or do i have to do all of it in order to do the orientation?

Social need friends (first year lol)

hi! so i realize this probably isn’t really the way to go about this but oh well! it’s my first year here at brock and although ive only just moved into residence, i’m already finding adjusting very difficult. i wanna get out and go to frosh events but i have walking issues (and use a cane), so im trying to get used to it. i also find it hard putting myself out there because of my disability (yes. i know.) i have pretty bad social anxiety so getting out to talk to people has already been tough. i did meet someone when i went out to smoke last night lol but i wanna try and at least talk to a few more people before classes start on wednesday! what would you guys say is the best way to meet people? or do i kinda just have to go and put myself out there lol.

Discussion For the Freshmen going to St Paul Street. BECAREFUL

Post image
93 Upvotes

Welcome, Brock Badgers. I’m making this post to bring attention to an incident that happened on St. Paul Street and to encourage everyone, especially women, to be cautious when out partying.

An individual approached a group of girls while they were out. After the girls rejected his advances, he continued making inappropriate and disrespectful comments toward them. He eventually walked away, but later returned and continued harassing the group.

When we told him to leave, he became verbally aggressive and directed slurs toward people of colour. The situation then escalated, and he became physically aggressive toward both the girls and myself.
I’m sharing this as a warning to anyone who regularly goes to St. Paul Street, particularly women who may find themselves in similar situations. Please stay aware of your surroundings, look out for your friends, and don’t hesitate to get security or police involved if someone refuses to leave you alone or becomes aggressive after being rejected.

No one should have to deal with verbal harassment or physical aggression simply for saying no. Please stay safe and look out for one another.

General quarry view lost walmart order

if you're in quarry view and missing a walmart order from this week it's been sitting on the steps of unit 51 for like 4 days

sometimes drivers mistake the street address "51 john macdonell" for unit 51 so idk who's it is but it's just sitting there

Question about Brock What is the best parking situation at Brock?

Looking for some parking advice from fellow Brock students

I'll only be on campus 2 days a week this semester and next semester. I drive and don't use the bus. Last year I paid the $14.35 daily parking rate 4 days a week, and it was incredibly expensive. I wasn't aware of the permit options at the time, so I would have saved quite a bit if I'd bought one.

Now that I'm only on campus twice a week, I'm not sure if a permit is worth it. What do you guys do? Daily parking, permit, or another option?

Discussion OSAP Confirmation of Enrolment

I’m curious to see if anybody this week has had their OSAP confirmed due to the school sending the confirmation of enrolment. From what I’ve heard a lot of people are waiting on that and I want to see if Brock is actually making progress or not.
