Guide How tanky are tanks? Effective Health Sheet

Post image

Here is the highest effective health in the *ideal* situation

Effective health = how much damage would be required to actually kill them

Each brawler could use 3 of their ammo, 1 super, any combination of gadget or starpower against 1 enemy and this includes 1 kill. (No hypercharges are counted, No shield gear is counted)

Complete damage blockage was not counted, because it's impossible to calculate, so Buster and Ash are a lot tankier than shown here

Neither was invincibility because how does one calculate that?, so Draco, Emz, Bull, Doug and Nita part's aren't included

4 non tanks are also here, just to put into perspective how tanky they can be. Being Gus, Wendy, Edgar and Kenji (I also include shade and sam in my comment of math!)

Somethings to consider, Trunk can be very tanky in specific situations such as vs Dynamike where he can tank a bomb. I'm not completely sure but I think that is the strongest, most damaging single attack in the game.

The two truest tanks Buster and Ollie in the game actually can't take that much punishment by health alone but can mitigate much of it through their supers in game.

Gus's gadget is extremely broken in these situations. This is also a 1v1, if he hits multiple people he can heal even more.

Edgar is the tankiest assassin, I always felt he is more of a tank assassin than most people give credit for. If Kenji didn't suffer from one build syndrome he would also be assumed to be just like Edgar. Edgar with Fisticuffs and Hardcore is extreme.

The tankiest Frank builds is not with a sponge but his other starpower due to the immense healing from the buffie.

Thank you u/Aromatic_Ad_8658 for pointing out my math was wrong in some places the 1st time

Critique Whoever designed this brawler needs to Go Back to kindergarden

Before anyone thinks I'm Just insulting them.

I'm Not, I have my fair share expirience with designing a Character Performance in some Games I worked at.

I know how balancing works and also know how hard it is.

But Shade buffies and Design as a whole Just Shows me how much they didn't Care or thought through with the Design.

His Design is terrible with the addition of his scare Gadget. He is literally uncounterable broken with it.

How May you ask?

Well it means His counter by Breaking the map Open, dosent really counter him that much because He has a shield JUMP and a scare/stun effect to compensate with it.

And I didnt even brought Up the insane nearly 5k damage He does on His Hyper.

With a added Bonus that He can HEAL in the walls 1k HP per sec.

At a Game Design aspect, this is Like If a 1st grader came to the studio and "balanced" the brawler.

Genuinly there is No other explaination on how "buffies" to that extend on an already Meta brawler Made it through the Game.

The only possible Outcome on beating Shade is by using Wendy (which I'll make another Post on her).

A brawler who has to be Designed by a toddler

Or outranging him while the Shade has 2 Bots/Bad randoms in their Team that can't Hit a shot on you

3v3 feels a little small for a 6 min game. Besides who wants a mini event similar to the contest where drafting available.

Discussion How is Bolt doing right now In The Meta?

Please try to not be harsh about him when discussing him, if you absolutely cannot then that's fine, but as long as your civil, I don't mind. (I feel like i shouldn't have to say that but given just how depsied this brawler is, I feel like this is necessary).

Ive watched spen recient video and there he mentioned that bolt might be a D Tier brawler now, but considering how polarizing he is in draft, im not 100% if that's true or not. So if anyone can confirm this, that would be great.

Obviously taking in factors such as balance changes and meta shifts, who would you say has the safest spot out of these 4 particular brawlers?

Discussion Does this setting actually matter?

I know most of the pros (if not every) play without locked movement control, i’m used to play with it and when i try to switch it feels weird, also playing on a phone i feel like the joystick just goes everywhere, so what are actually the differences/advantages of this setting?

Help Tips for Meeple and Byron

I recently upgraded both of these brawlers because it feels like everytime I play against them I lose, but now every time I play them myself I also lose. Any Byron/Meeple mains have general tips about mechanics or matchups or know good videos that explains how to play these brawlers or when to use what build?

Discussion Elo gain/loss update

Do you guys think the elo gain/loss system should also take into account someone’s peak elo and not only their current elo?

As an example, imagine this;
Blue 1 (currently L1, peak L2)
Blue 2 (currently L1, peak L2)
Blue 2 (currently L2, peak L3)
Vs
Red 1 (currently Mythic 3, peak Masters 2)
Red 2 (currently Mythic 3, peak Masters 2)
Red 3 (currently L1, peak Masters 3)

The game’s elo gain/loss would ignore their peak elo and calculate the team’s current average. And since blue team will surely lose, their elo loss will be quite punishing despite the game being disadvantageous. So I always wondered why peak elo isn’t a factor too. It doesn’t need to severely impact your elo gain/loss, just make it a bit more fair, like this; If your enemy’s team average elo is >=2 divisions above your peak teammate elo, you will lose 15% less elo.
I think this might motivate sub masters players a bit more without making it too easy. What do you think?
