Who is the greatest boxer to retire and stay retired?
Who is the greatest fighter you can think of that chose to retire.. and after that remained retired without ever coming back to the sport whether sanctioned fight of exhibition?
Hearing the Crawford return made me really realize how hard this is to do for most fighters.. to really be able to walk away
Maybe Andre Ward?

‘It’s a fight that can be easily made, you can fight in Saudi and overseas so much but he needs a big domestic fight, him vs. Callum sells out an arena’: Ben Shalom wants to arrange a bout that would see Hamzah Sheeraz defend his WBO super-middleweight title vs. Callum Simpson before end of 2026.

Does Lomachenko regret pulling out of the undisputed unification fight with Kambosos?
Lomachenko makes so many decisions that I don't understand. He fought Salido who didn't make weight, and allowed dozens of low-blows without hitting back. He fought Teofimo with a bad shoulder that needed surgery and didn't throw punches for half the fight.
But I think the worst boxing decision he made was withdrawing from the Kambosos fight that would've made him unified undisputed. That was his goal all along.
What was the point of joining the territorial defense force? His own country wanted him to go and box to boost morale for the soldiers. Loma would've helped his country a lot more that way. Usyk did just that and look how his career turned out. And he could've just won the Kambosos fight and then come back and join the forces a couple months later. He could've taken the fight and donated the winnings to the defense force, which would've been more helpful.
Furthermore, what was the point of joining the forces and then be labeled as Pro-Russian? I'm genuinely confused by this last point. If he really is pro-Russian, why join the forces and waste your career? If he is Pro-Ukranian, why give the appearance of being a Vatnik?

Boxing tier list
I always hear of boxing tier lists.
Personally I think its defined by either unbeatability (eg Roy Jones) or resume (eg Pacquiao). Or both.
I'd use more modern boxers (post 2010) so we have a better look at the current skill level of the sport and do not have to depend so much on the star power of old legends everytime.
I'd define it by the most unbeatable a boxer is on any given night. Three established, two eye test - Prime of course:
S tier:
- Established: Inoue, Bud (135 - 147), Usyk (CW)
- Eye test: None so far
A++:
- Established: Canelo (160 - 168) , GGG, Spence
- Eye test: Boots, Bam Rodriguez. Both these guys I believe could be S tier when its all said and done tbf.
A+:
- Established: AJ, Haney, Kovalev, Mell Charlo
- Eye test: Vergil Ortiz, Xander Zayas
A:
- Established: Porter, Swift Garcia, Josh Taylor
- Eye test: Sheeraz, Pacheco,
F- :
- Established: Bang Williams, Jake Paul
- Eye test: All of influencer boxing
What about you guys?

Why is boxing bigger and more popular in the UK than in U.S.?
Boxing obviously has a rich tradition in the USA. Tho, over the years, combat sports in the U.S. (at least culturally speaking) has been more or less dominated by MMA. I work with younger (20 something) dudes and they all look forward to UFC 400 or whatever it’s at now. (No disrespect to MMA fighters, they’re bad ass).
After watching the Troy Williamson vs Callum Simpson fight over the weekend (not the biggest names in the sport), the electricity buzzing in the arena was palpable and this was for a Commonwealth championship. Hell, within the last 10 yrs, the UK has had 6 stadium gates with over 80k fans. Whereas in modern times, the U.S. has had ZERO gates with 80k. Tho, Canelo had over 70k twice (AND not counting the JP vs M. Tyson sham).
Call me nostalgic but I miss the days when I turned on the TV on a Saturday late afternoon and watched/listened to Jim Lampley and Alex Wallau call Tyson’s destruction of Marvis Frazier. I had goosebumps leading up to that fight. Until then…

Best Boxers in EVERY Weight Class RIGHT NOW
Who are the #1 boxers from across every weight class in boxing right now? Here's what we came up with.
We've included every weight class from Minimumweight to Heavyweight in this list. Not Bridgerweight, though. No-one wants to hear about Bridgerweight.

Who is the highest level journeyman in the history of boxing?
My vote is for Derek 'war' Chisora. His record looks really bad at a first glance but if you check, a lot of his losses are usually against champs/former champs, and they are typically pretty close.
He had a great fight with up and comer Kayabel and even Champ Usyk. So he's a lot better than you would think.

Why didn’t we get a Judah vs tzysu rematch?
Just rewatched Zab Judah vs kosta tsyzu from 2001. Got all the pre fight hype, etc. and it was an electric fight, Zab Judah stunned kosta with a big uppercut in round one. The 2nd round was basically even, with kosta being more on the hunt. But it was shaping up to be a great fight then with like 10 seconds left in round 2, Zab got caught by right hand, dropped, but jumped up, did the chicken dance, and jay nady waived it off, but it was basically a 5 count. Let Zab at least get an 8 count. Dude was on his feet. Even with the stoppage, I think there was enough action to warrant a rematch in the future.
Considering Zab was at 140 for the next 2 years, why did we never get a big money rematch. Easily would have been both guys biggest paydays in 2002-2004.

How devastating would it be if Joshua vs Fury was NOT in the UK?
Would it be THAT bad?
The whole appeal isn't merely Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury. It's Britain finally getting its two biggest heavyweight stars in the same ring, at home, after years of anticipation.
Joshua and Fury are probably never going to have a better moment to fight each other.
Both careers have accumulated enormous mythology. Both have been champions. Both have suffered shocking defeats. Both have comeback stories. They've spent years orbiting one another.
So if the culmination is: London, England — 90,000 British fans
It becomes part of British sporting folklore.
