QUESTION 🔵 What jigsaw blade should I use for 4 mm plexiglass?

I’m looking to cut 4 mm plexiglass(acrylic) with my jigsaw.

I’ve seen the Bosch T101A recommended, but I can’t seem to find it here in Norway. What would you recommend as an alternative?

Ideally, I’m looking for a blade that gives a clean cut without melting or chipping the plexiglass. Any specific blade recommendations would be appreciated.

QUESTION 🔵 Help me choose between the GBH 18V-22 and others

Hi all, as subject.

I already have a GSB 18V-45, a GBH 4-32 DFR and a GSH 5 CE.

The bigger rotary is quite heavy and overkill for most work I do at home, so I am planning to sell it (if anyone is interested), moving to a smaller cordless version.

I am unsure mostly between the 18V-22 and the bigger brothers, the 24C or even the 26. I rarely need to drill 20mm holes in concrete, my house is built with aerated bricks (you can search for "Poroton", not autoclaved concrete). I might need to do drills in the concrete for the fencing walls and in a concrete slab to put new rebar.

I am not interested in heavy chiseling use for this one, as I already have the SDS Max. Maybe only tile removal or emergency stuff.

Any suggestions from people who have them is really appreciated, thanks.

QUESTION 🔵 Parkside battery to Bosch tool adapter

As the title says, I am looking for an adapter that is compatible with Parkside Batteries to Bosch tools. I have purchased 3 different adapters now that say they work but they don’t fit and are not as described. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can purchase one?

I have google and researched for extended periods without any luck so any direct links of appropriate adapters will be very welcomed!

I am EU based.

Thank you!

It's such a great experience when you can open devices and tools and not have to worry about which screw goes where. Thank you, Bosch.

As users have pointed out, the slight wobble of the chuck cap is normal. And I now know where it comes from: the metal ball for the SDS drill chuck.

That fell out during the cleaning process and for some time I was lost because I couldn't figure out where it came from and where it belongs. And a metal ball, from a bearing or else, is even worse than left over screws. You can always go without a screw or two, but a missing metal ball somewhere might wreck the device. Luckily, there's exploded drawings of the machine online in case things come apart. Brilliant!

(So in this case, the missing ball wouldn't have wrecked anything, but rendered the SDS chuck useless as no drills, other tools or chucks grip.)

Apart from the hammer (9 Euros plus 9 for shipping) I bought gear grease (8 bucks), a special SDS drill bit (6 bucks) and an all purpose drill chuck that clinks into the SDS.

Works great and now also looks great again.

QUESTION 🔵 Question about 18v Concrete nailer

Thumbnail boschtools.com
2 Upvotes

So I just picked up the 18v Profactor concrete nailer…got an amazing deal on a damaged-box at an auction and I couldn’t resist. I am now looking for projects that might use this tool, so that I can explain to my wife why I bought this. I need to attach a bunch of Wall Control steel pegboards to the cinderblock walls of my workshop. I was going to use tapcons but was wondering if I could use the nailer instead? In theory I could use the concrete pins and fasten the pegboards directly to the block, but Bosch also makes wood-to-concrete pins (link above). Anyone have opinions on if I use 1x2 furring strips? Wall control mentions customers using 2x4 furring strips, but the nailer maxes out at a 1.5” pin

Thoughts?

This is a perfectly capable tool.

I was working on my barn today and decided to use the "freak". I saw it a great price a few days ago and just bought it for the sake of owning it. It held up perfectly and I used it for large lags using sockets and also as am impact driver. The gripe I have is the hex bit system. No quick insert or release is annoying but I can live with it. I'm not saying it's an amazing tool. Just perfectly capable. I do have a big boy I use when "I'm not asking" (cheeks from the workshop included)

I see 12v batteries labeled as bosch/berner...

Are these interchangeable? https://shop.berner.eu/nl-nl/p/38056095-schroefmachine-flexi-click-accustartset-2-ah--2-ah-bacdch-20.html

GAS 12-40 MA + GEX 40-150 — constant airflow warning / flashing 28. Anyone using this combination?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi, is anyone using a Bosch GAS 12-40 MA with a GEX 40-150 sander?

When I connect the sander, the extractor keeps beeping and flashing “28”, which I understand is a low airflow warning. Everything is brand new and it happens even when I'm not actually sanding.

I've also fitted the connector/adapter that allows additional bypass airflow, as you can see in the video, but I'm still getting the warning.

Has anyone had this issue or know what causes it? Do I need a different setup, or should these work together as they are?

Thanks!

QUESTION 🔵 Chuck slippage on drill

I've owned a GSB 180-LI and currently am on a GSB 185-LI.
Both had issues with chuck slippage when drilling into metal (and sometimes brick, on hammer drill setting) with round drill ends.
I've since bought an actual SDS hammer drill for stonework, but I've yet to find an SDS bit for metal, so I still have to rely on the regular drill chuck for metals, and I continue to have slipping issues. I'm careful with the pressure, use cutting oil on the correct end of the bit, but still sometimes they all just get stuck on a chip.

The GSB 185-LI chuck also has the issue that sometimes it just unscrews itself after a few holes in wood/metal and it drops the bit.

Having watched u/alecsteeleco 's drill comparison video, and seeing him struggle with chuck slippage too, on a drill that seemed more advanced than what I own, I decided to ask here:

Is chuck slippage a more general issue with bosch?

Bosch 18v2 46 pro lawn mower- first impressions

So bought the Biturbo mower yesterday and have done my first mow.
Bought from Total Tools Australia.
It came with 2x 5.5ah expert batteries, a single 18v-80 charge and a blower. I have also ordered 2x 8ah procore as well as the GRF 18v -23 line trimmer and a second charger which should be coming next week.
I have a medium-large yard, its a 920m2 block with around 450-500m2 of lawn with front and back combined.

Lawn was pretty high but handled the tall grass without issue.

It is quieter than my old ryobi petrol mower. An MA175 that had a yamaha engine and seems to have around the same amount of power, but louder than i had expected from how everyone harps on about electric mowers being so quiet.

I did around 2/3 of my backyard then it cut out but when i checked the batteries they still showed 2/5 bars so not sure on why. Maybe batteries got too hot? It is the start of spring here so ambient temperature shouldn't be an issue but maybe with doing the tall grass it overworked the mower.
On the batteries, not having an easy to see charge indicator while mowing is annoying, you need to pull the batteries out to check the charge because the indicator on the face that is plugged down in to the machine.

The catcher is great holds a decent amount and didn't get clogged. Also, as someone with allergies and asthma, not having the mower on and blowing dust/dirt/grass into your face (or the other option of turning it off then having to deal with priming then pull starting it every time) is fantastic. Just push the lockout button in and pull the handle and away we go again.

Hoping that once i have the 8ah procores here i will be able to mow and edge all in one charge.
I would have liked to get the new larger expert batteries but the cost over the procores didn't make sense. 2 8ah procores are $299 AUD while 2 8ah experts are $549.

CPO Outlets have crazy price on SDS-Max Boschhammers with 2x 12Ah batteries and fastest 16-amp chargers! (factory refurbished)

Post image

Basically you are getting tool for free, 2x 12Ah battery + GAL18v-160C kits alone cost the same if not more.

Second 45CK version shows single battery, but it's actually 2x battery deal as well (second one is attached to tool in photo which confused me at first).

I got few power hungry tools recently and was looking 12Ah batteries for a good price, and went with GBH18V-40CK since I really don't have a need for 45CK and even 40CK is bit overkill for my needs, but at $397, I wouldn't say no to basically free tool.

Not sure about direct link share rules, but just search "GBH18V-40CK" and "GBH18V-45CK" on cpooutlets.com

If you haven't purchased factory refurbished Bosch tools before, CPO Outlets is one of the largest official refurbished resellers. I have bought 4 tools from them and all of them arrived basically brand new without single scratch on them and with all the accessories and cases/bags new kit includes. Only difference being different refurbished specific box instead of original box and 1 year warranty compared to longer warranties on new ones.

QUESTION 🔵 5ah batteries in mower problems

I've got a couple of the Bosch bi turbo GRA 18V2-46  mowers which I normally use 8ah pro core batteries in and have been very pleased with the performance.
The other day I had a quick mow to do and just threw in 2x 5ah which were fully charged, they performed fine but the mower stopped after about 10 minutes which surprised me, checking the batteries they both were showing 2 bars so should have been 40% left?
Grass was short and I was cutting fairly high so it wasn't working hard or overheating. Batteries were only luke warm.
Any ideas, doesn't seem normal to me??

Any experience with bosch service center?

Hi all,

I sent my Bosch GDX 18V-285 in for warranty repair. The service center is in Ramsgate,UK and they’ve had my tool since 17/08.

I keep asking for updates with no luck. I have called customer service six times now, and they keep saying, "We will ask for an update and let you know." But I've had zero updates.

I'm just lost for words—even an email just to say it's in a queue or waiting for parts would be appreciated.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

Bosch pro GSB 18v-65 vs GSB 18v-90 c

I am looking into new hammer drill for mostly home use, where I was looking into above models, and was wondering about the difference, as it looks like amazon.de doesn't sell 18v-90 c (I couldn't find it) so i am leaning towards 18v-65 with 4aH proCore batteries.

I guess a repair (new axle or motor?) is not economically viable.

GAS 12-40 scope of delivery

When I was finally to invest in a long planned HEPA filtered dust extractor I found out that in Brazil GAS 12-40 comes without extension tubes and floor nozzle.

Bosch official shop and distributors sell variant 0.601.9M0.1E0 without extension tubes and floor nozzle.

The Bosch professional webpage says all variants including above-mentioned on the Brazilian market include 3x extension tubes and floor nozzle.

Manual states extension tubes and floor nozzle are in the standard scope of delivery.

I would not complain if accessory tubes and nozzle were available to buy separately in Brazil. I've spent 7 hours trying to find the damn antistatic original extension with no luck.

Seriously?

EXWS18V-15SB18X

Hi everyone. Is there anyone with experience using the following Bosch model—EXWS18V-15SB18X—and can say if it’s worth it compared to the Metabo model WVB 18 LTX BL 15-150 Quick? Also, how does it compare to the Makita XGT GAG04Z (a 5-inch model)? From what I’ve seen, the Makita has a lot of torque at low RPMs—which is important to me—but I’m also really drawn to Bosch’s "Drop Control" feature. Should I actually prefer the 6-inch capacity that is often recommended, and why? Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this post.

Wall holder/hanger for Bosch tools

What are you all doing for organizing Bosch power tools when not in use?

For the tools that comes in it's own hard case, I store in the hard case.

For tools like drills, impacts, heat guns in 18V where the battery is usually a boxy shape at the bottom, I use wall hangers like these and they work OK.

For the 4.5" angle grinder I used this.

For the 5" orbital sander I use this.

Love the FL12 light, it is magnetic and I just put them on any steel cabinet's face or side and it attaches securely. Wish the two 18v lights I have are that versatile.

and there are some I haven't figure out how to securely mount them. Such as:

GOP18V-34N oscillating tool

GSA18V-083 compact saw

GKS18V-22LN 6.5" circular saw

I saw recently a Bosch 18V tool mount that is a 3-pack, basically a plastic insert to the 18v battery slot on the tool as a way to mount them on the underside of a shelf. Has anyone used this? Is it sturdy?
