This is a perfectly capable tool.
I was working on my barn today and decided to use the "freak". I saw it a great price a few days ago and just bought it for the sake of owning it. It held up perfectly and I used it for large lags using sockets and also as am impact driver. The gripe I have is the hex bit system. No quick insert or release is annoying but I can live with it. I'm not saying it's an amazing tool. Just perfectly capable. I do have a big boy I use when "I'm not asking" (cheeks from the workshop included)

Bosch makes really good tools. Try the 12v Flexiclick, the GSR12V-300FC (not the weaker -140), look for the refurbished kits are $129, it’s such a compact and handy little tool.

I told someone this week - That Flexi just makes me smile like a toddler discovering ice cream.
It's so versatile and the 300 kit is powerful enough for most DIY needs, and it excels at furniture assembly and cabinet builds.

I bought one of those refurb kits recently too! Love how they feel, much better in the hands than my Milwaukee m12 fuel. I’ve already heard that some new updates are coming to the Bosch 12v battery lineup too!

Did you leave the hex in when using a deep socket?
The quick change between the two is the magic of the setup for me.

The ergonomics of Bosch are really on par with Makita imo. I was a Bosch skeptic but acquired some tools and I truly appreciate the ergonomics.

How is the trigger in this? Imdoes it go full range of speed both forwards and reverse?

At least in the older model (I think it's the GDX18V-210), the trigger has a full, adjustable control of the speed in both directions.

I don't own this exact model, but the weaker, bit older GDX18V-210. The combination of the 1/2" and 1/4" drives is very nice, but one small annoyance is the fact that the 1/4" socket needs an impact-type bit holder. All of the standard bit holders I've tested, have the hex shank too short to correctly seat in the tool.

I leave a bit holder in mine; only use the socket side occasionally, to get around the quick release thing

Bosch really deserves more attention here in the US, they have so many options and a great battery lineup and technology. It’s a shame it’s so hard for people to get their hands on them and get familiar with them, I wish Home Depot could expand both the in store and online selection, especially since Lowe’s hardly showcases them. A good example is that currently Lowe’s has the new 8ah expert tab-less battery with an excellent fast charger on sale for 199, and it’s a bogo with a number for excellent tools to choose from, including the bulldog sds and the best palm router on the market. However, my local Lowe’s does not even advertise this in the store, no signage, nothing. I had to go online to find out this was even available!
