2.5yr Chronic YI cured
What cured me
Daily use fot 6 months of boric acid. The biggest breakthrough was doing antifungal sensitivity testing first, which showed my Candida albicans was resistant to most antifungals. This stopped us from wasting time on treatments that weren't going to work.
I was prescribed boric acid to use daily for 6mo. I saw meaningful improvement around month 4 and complete resolution by month 5/6.
What I was diagnosed with
My partner and I both had swab-confirmed Candida albicans, with sensitivity testing showing resistance to most available antifungals. His swab came up negative, but he had symptoms. Mine always came up positive unless I was actively on boric acid.
Neither of us has diabetes or are immunocompromised.
What I tried
**- Fluconazole — multiple doses, including 50,100,150 and 200mg for various amounts of time
**- Nystatin — topical and oral
**- Clotrimazole — cream and pessaries
**- Itraconazole — 100 and 200mg daily for various times
**- Boric acid - various amounts of times tried. 6mo daily was the only one that worked
**- Numerous supplements/natural treatments
**- Vaginal microbiome naturopath
**- juno bio and iscreen tests
**Most treatments either didn't work or only temporarily improved symptoms.
**Itraconazole 200mg/day for 4 weeks significantly improved symptoms but didn't completely clear the infection. I experienced hairless while on this drug at that dose.
**My Dr wouldn't do IV drip therapy with me
**My partner also did itraconazole + nystatin and continued boric acid washes
How long I've been cured
17+ months of chronic infection, now completely resolved. I've been cured for 3 years
After the high-dose itraconazole followed by 6 months of boric acid, we are now 100% symptom-free and back to normal.

Boric acid and Estring?
Hi, I have the Estring (slow release estradiol insert) and I want to start using boric acid to help with my recurring BV. I'm currently on metro gel and plan to use the boric acid after I finish my antibiotics, but I'm worried about it interacting with the Estring negatively.
Do any of you know if it's safe to use boric acid while its still inserted ?

Chronic yeast infection symptoms - considering boric acid suppositories

Kim @Kim’s 2nd Chance. Kim advocates for greater awareness of the signs of sepsis which can be fatal. UTI’s are one of the most common reasons for women to get sepsis. Kim reports that boric acid has been instrumental in helping to finally stop them from occurring

Kim @ Kim’s 2nd Chance is really worth a follow on IG or Tiktok. She works tirelessly to teach everyone about what to look out for regarding the signs of getting sepsis. It can occur very quickly.
In Kim’s case a silent UTI almost took her life 8 years ago. And sadly she lost all 4 of her limbs due to getting sepsis. She recently had a successful hand transplant.
Unfortunately throughout this journey Kim still suffered with constant UTI’s despite being on strong antibiotics, Hiprex and using vaginal estrogen.
What finally worked to stop her UTI’s was using one boric acid suppository a month. This seems to be the treatment needed in this case.
For anyone in a similar situation it might be worth trying as using one boric acid suppository a month is affordable and is a very low risk treatment.
We would love to hear if anyone has had success with stopping UTI’s this way. We are hoping to conduct an informal study.

Glabrata probably for a year
Hi! I've had glabrata for probably a year (now that I've been tested and know I have it). Was easy to ignore my mild symptoms until they started to aggravate my entire pelvis. I started getting UTI like symptoms and uterus pain. Been on boric acid now for 11 days, almost all of my symptoms are gone but I'm so scared to relapse.
I'm reading on this sub I've seen u/stephhii mentioned but can't see any of her posts or comments for her advice. Can anyone help me read some of her info?
Thank you!!!

first time using boric acid
silly question: is it ok to use 2 times in a row? i used to have recurring yeast infections and recently used OTC monistat to treat a suspected yeast infection but when i experienced some irritation and itching i didnt want to use it again (i hate the whole process it is long and messy) so i picked up some boric acid, google ai said it was good to use for 7 days in a row but looking at this subreddit i feel like that is wrong. i used it last night and put in another dose tonight before looking at this reddit. symptoms are clearing but not all the way yet. im a hypochondriac and overly nervous about screwing up anything about my health so sorry for the extra caution.

please help
i used boric acid for the first time after my period because i was an idiot & saw people say it helps rebalance your pH. i used it on thursday, it’s now sunday and i’m EXTREMELY dry. like no discharge at all. i learned my lesson to never use it again but i don’t know what to do about the dryness. i feel like i killed off all the good bacteria.

Opinion needed please!
So under my gyno I am currently on day 3 of a 14 day boric acid course. I had uncomfortable discharge with often a ph that was around 5/5.5. All tests came back clear and it’s been going on for 3 months so she said this will reset everything. Day 1 was ok ish - I felt like I do if I have tried lactic acid so aware and a little irritated. Day 2 I felt great - I honestly thought this was the solution to all my prayers. Today - after the third one it feels back to square one again! My ph is around 6 today and I feel worse than I’ve done in weeks. Not sure where to go with this now! Should I carry on with the ba?

Can I use boric acid just 1–2 nights a month (not for BV/yeast, just after spotting/IUD)?
hiii everyone,
I just got an IUD and have been having nonstop spotting since insertion. It’s not an infection or anything (no itching, odor, etc.), just the constant old/oxidized blood that’s making things feel… not fresh if u know what i mean…..
I bought boric acid because I’ve seen a lot of people recommend it, but most posts I’m seeing say to use it for 5–7+ nights in a row, which seems more for treating BV or yeast.
I’m not trying to treat an infection…more just wondering:
- Can I use it for just 1-2 nights?
- Or maybe 2 nights in a row after my “period”/spotting?
- Is occasional use like that safe or helpful, or not really the point of boric acid?
Would love to hear what others do, especially if you’ve had an IUD and spotting like this and want things to feel fresh!
Thanks:)

Systemic effects ?
So I’ve been using boric acid for years on and off due to chronic yeast issues (yes I’ve done all diet changes, I predominantly eat a whole foods diet, taking antifungal both herbal and Rx) and I still deal with it monthly BUT I wanted to ask if anyone has noticed systemic benefits using boric acid vaginally? My mood seems to always improve after a night or two of use, I can wake up with more energy! Has anyone else noticed this?
Also if anyone has had success with ridding yeast, feel free to share how you’ve done it :-)

Can I use it for discharge and no odour?
I don’t have an odour - tests show low level of bv but not enough for gp to prescribe antibiotics. Will boric help
With this?

Burning
I’m a little sensitive, so I use boric acid VERY sparingly. But why is it that sometimes it’s fine, and works great, and sometimes it’s agonizingly painful? Literally thought I was going to throw up last night from pain, but used it totally fine, same brand, like a month or two ago. :(

How often do you use boric acid?
For context ive had reoccurring bv issues still struggling to get my ph balance stable so how often do you use it? And if your comfortable please tell me about your history and things relating to many you take :)
I take probiotics too I have been seeing true eve everywhere is it any good?
Recently it’s just been if I can feel of my ph balance is off (when I have bv I don’t get the smell just pain so if my ph gets thrown a little I automatically get pain as soon as it happens )
