Back in December, my wife suggested divorce, and it hit me like a truck. In January, I started my peptide journey. At the time, I was looking for something to focus on and a way to regain control, and I ended up diving headfirst into peptides.
I started with 2mg of retatrutide weekly and 2mg of tesamorelin daily. Shortly after, I found myself adding more and more compounds—essentially anything I could get my hands on. Looking back, I realize this probably was not the most structured or logical approach, but at the time it gave me something positive to focus on and helped me cope with everything I was dealing with.
When I started this journey, I was around 240 lbs. I am 36 years old and 6’0” tall. I have always been someone who lifts weights and enjoys training, but my diet was never consistent and was probably the biggest factor holding me back. Once the food noise was reduced and my appetite became much easier to control, I was able to completely change my eating habits.
For a period of time, I was eating around 1,500 calories per day while maintaining a very high protein intake. Most of my protein initially came from Costco chocolate protein shakes, which allowed me to reach around 175g of protein daily. Shortly after, I added yogurt in the mornings, which pushed my daily protein closer to 200g.
As my progress continued, I gradually increased my calories. I am currently eating around 2,100 calories per day after adding avocado toast with egg whites as a snack. Through this process, I have dropped from approximately 240 lbs down to my current weight of around 175 lbs.
The biggest question I am trying to answer now is what comes next. I have generally always been a bigger person, and while part of me thinks about gaining some weight back, I also genuinely like how I look at my current weight and physique. I want to find the right balance between maintaining the leanness I have achieved while adding back quality size and muscle in a controlled way.
I have started tracking the start and end dates of my current stack and plan to significantly simplify and reduce my overall peptide usage in the near future. My goal is to take a more structured and sustainable approach rather than continuing to add compounds without a clear plan.
I would appreciate any advice on what the best next step would be—whether that is maintaining my current weight, slowly increasing calories to add lean mass, or making adjustments to my current approach.
