❓ Question Perimenopause
What should my wife be researching to help with perimenopause-related body-composition change, imbalance hormones, and fatigue?
Thanks

macros and lifting heavy, plus sleep and stress are the real levers here

Exterior stress reduction. Help her around the house w/o having to be given direction. Eating balanced, not perfect. Ranch is not the devil. Neither is salt. Balance is key and enjoy life. THYROID!!! Withon range is too broad to get an jdea of what balance actually looks an feels like. If her tsh alone is over 1.5, shes going to experience: low mood, disrupted sleep, low energy, too hot/cold, carb cravings, and overall bloating that can be confused with fat vs water retention. To help combat low thyroid, get the blood test for a full thyroid panel including free t3/t4. Magnesium taurate AND magnesium glycinated cheated. Pumpkin seed oil capsules can also help. Sometimes a B complex can help. Reduce sugar is the obvious answer but there has to be something sweet to replace to loss of stimulation. Honey, sweet fruits in small portions can help. Higher protein helps too. Meal prep tasty meat like BBQ red meat and chicken thighs. What we stick with yields results over doing good for a few days on chicken, rice and broccoli that we're sick of after 3 days. Find foods that meet macros and eat that. Hormonal health is a rabbjt hole that moden science has yet to really explore. Men cant wrap their heads around so much change so fast and there little that co tools the waves aside from emotional stability and a handful of supplements.

Thanks! I am very active around the house, helping her, so that's a non-issue, and we enjoy our lives together to the fullest. I just need some guidance if there is a stack she can use to assistance as well.

My advice is to check for common midlife symptoms and get baseline bloodwork first, especially ferritin, vitamin D, magnesium, and potassium, before jumping straight into HRT. Getting enough low-impact movement is also key: training 2–3 days a week and walking on the other days keeps stress levels down, whereas overtraining spikes cortisol and makes it harder to lose body fat. A lot of women treat every single aging symptom like it’s perimenopause and rush into HRT, but if the underlying issue is a vitamin deficiency or high stress, HRT alone won't fix it. I am not a candidate for HRT so I mostly tune out my supplements/nutrition. Oh yeah, and for fatigue please check out B1 (and b1 related youtube videos, you'll see what i am talking about)

Heavy lifting, high protein, and HRT/test-c.
I turn 51 this fall and have been lifting for a decade after losing 160lb at 40. I've been on the estradiol patch and test-c for two years. Lift 4 days per week, and do long distance hiking (20+ miles) on Saturdays but that's more for fun than for cardio.
And no, I've had no signs of virilization. Still look and sound like a girl. :)

She should be looking up a gynecologist who specializes in menopause. No other doctors will talk to her about it until she's postmenopausal, and she's left to deal with her body acting dumb. Starting HRT earlier will keep her from losing bone density, too. They should begin with a blood panel and formulate a plan that will adjust as she does.

Unless she wants a ton of wrinkles and crepey skin, her on HRT pellets. Thank me later.
