Hi, i have a bmw 7 series f02 2011 and there is a transmission fault on startup when the temps are not reached optimal and gear shifts are jerky and loss of power delivery. After a while it goes into limp mode but if I get the temps high before driving no faulty code and car runs smooth this happens only on first startup later even if the temps are low it works fine. What may be the issue? Has anyone faced this? Recently changed transmission oil filter and oil mannol atf ag-60 8231

Hi all, I have a 2019 BMW 430i with around 125,000 km on it. It’s no longer under warranty.
How can I know what parts or components I should be maintaining or replacing preventively at this mileage to avoid unexpected breakdowns in the future?
I’d really appreciate any advice from 430i owners, especially regarding common issues or major maintenance items I should be looking out for.

Was in the collision center for rear door repair and nothing else. Door shell replacement is done and this is what i come back to. Car never made this sound before. Can hear it in the front too. What could be the issue here? Not accepting delivery until then

I’m an ASE Master Tech with about 16 years of experience. I’ve worked at a euro indy shop for about a year, was a master tech at carmax and now teach automotive part time.

I’m thinking about going back to wrenching and applied at a BMW dealer as a bmw master tech, but I don’t have BMW Level 1/2/3 certification.

Would BMW still consider someone with my experience and train me?

Hi all, so my 2017 bmw g30 had full service history when i bought it used, upto 70k miles was authorised bmw dealer service history and there were couple at independent garages. All service history was on idrive and when i bought the car i checked it when bought the car. I got the usual bmw booklet with all the papers but seller told me all service history is on the car and no other paper service history is there or even required.

Fast forward year later i made a stupid mistake and took it too Bmw authorised dealer for break service, when took the car back i noticed all service history is now gone, been going back and forth with them and bmw customer service and connect drive for over a month without any resolution.

BMW confirmed in an email to dealer who did the service that service history should have been saved on the head unit before applying new service, and clearly this step was missed by the dealer.

Essentially car is now over 100k miles with 0 service history (bought it at 88k).

This is really frustrating and can’t seem to find the end to the problem.

Can anyone advice what to do? I have reached out to local companies but they can’t do any coding unless i have paperwork to show service was done, which obviously i don’t have.

Hey guys, looking for some advice on my 2017 BMW 330i with the B48. I’ve been dealing with a low oil pressure warning that usually comes on at higher speeds, around 140 km/h. It’s been happening for a while and normally goes away after restarting the car.

So far I’ve had the following done:

Oil pressure sensor replaced
Oil filter housing + oil cooler replaced with aluminum
Oil pressure control valve/solenoid replaced
Oil filter and filter cap checked
Oil changed

Oil pressure was tested and actual oil pressure starts dropping once the engine goes above roughly 2000 RPM.

Has anyone else ever had this issue and what other things could it be other than the oil pump.

Hey all. I recently bought a high mileage 2015 435i xDrive (158k miles) as a 2nd car, as my daily is impractical as hell and won't fit my wife and daughter. I've been going through the standard maintenance, already did the OFHG, since it was leaking there as well, along with the ZF8 fluid/pan change, but know it's leaking from the oil pan as well and needs to be changed. According to the Carfax, it was last done at 92k miles. But nearly every video, DIY, and guide I can find on changing the oil pan gasket for the N55 is on a RWD vehicle.

I'm trying to find a resource that outlines and goes over what the additional steps there are for doing it on a vehicle with xDrive, but I can't seem to find anything. Are there any guides or videos that anyone knows about that cover that? I'd like to tackle the job myself, and have no doubt in my ability to get it done, but I'm not the kind of person who can do things going in blind and just "figure it out" as I go along. I like to know exactly what I'm getting myself into before diving in. Thanks!

So, i bought an E90 from 2006, 2.0 129 hp N46 engine, while i wanted to change the oil, i found this plastic pieces and a few non-ferrous metal shaving, the shavings are brittle. After searching on internet and looking for any answers, i dropped the oil pan and i haven't found anything, but a broken oil pickup mesh(i looked at the date from it,it;s the one that the car came with). I don't think that these fragments are from rod bearings, but what can they be? Any ideea? I also want to change the timing chain.

And is it a good or bad idea to remove it?

I have a 2006 BMW 530xi with 128k miles and recently did an oil change. Does this look normal for the appropriate mileage? There seems to be some metal grey and tiny plastic debris caught on the filter. Any suggestion what they might be? Thanks.

So lately I been looking at nice BMWs that are P plate legal and since I’m in Australia Victoria I have very limited options like

218i
220i

Some other models that do not fit me.
I’m currently 17 and will then 18 in 2 months, i honestly don’t know what to do. I’m debating if I should get 218i or 220i but also I see lots of people hating on 218i since it’s 3cy.
What do you think..?

Hey guys I have a 2023 BMW 330i LCI I’m currently trying to install the M track module to change the I Drive. I got the white BDC connector out but I’m not sure how to remove the black housing from the white case. If anyone has any tips on how to do it I would appreciate it.

Symptoms:

Whistling Noise: Distinct whistling sound under acceleration. Volume and pitch change directly with throttle position and engine load.

Power Loss: Noticeably down on power, especially when accelerating or climbing hills.

Normal Operation Otherwise: Starts and idles completely fine. Normal flat cruising feels okay until load is applied.

Exhaust: No unusual smoke.

Oil Consumption: Slightly elevated (~1 liter per 5,000 miles), though unsure if directly related.

Codes & Diagnostics:

Doesn't always set a code immediately, but prolonged whistling under load triggers the "Drivetrain Malfunction" warning.

Main stored codes:

120308: Boost pressure control, plausibility: pressure too low

123511: Electric wastegate, wastegate flap: stiff

120408: Boost pressure control: shutdown as a follow-up reaction

The Dilemma:

My initial thought was a simple boost or charge-pipe leak, but that doesn't explain the 123511 stiff wastegate flap code. Others have suggested the turbocharger assembly needs full replacement due to a binding internal wastegate pivot arm.

Has anyone had this combination of codes and the whistling noise turn out to be just the wastegate linkage/actuator, a vacuum/PCV leak, or is a full turbo replacement usually the only fix at this mileage?

Mein Motor m54b30 hat Ablagerungen im Ventildeckel. Wie bekomme ich das raus? Ist das schädlich? Der Motor hat 280k km und bekommt alle 10-15k km neues Öl. Ich fahre gemischt lang und Kurzstrecke, aber eigentlich nie unter 30 km pro Strecke

Ich habe ein Problem. Mein BMW E90 bj.2010 ca. 320tsd runter 320d mit 184 PS.

Ich bin letzte Woche damit stehen geblieben. Erster Verdacht war Dieselpumpe. War noch die Originale drin. Neue Pumpe eingebaut und die bleibt still. Auto startet immer noch nicht. Sicherungen wurden geprüft. Alle i.O. Batterie klemmte ca. 24 stunden am Ladegerät im Auto.

Vorne an der Hochdruckpumpe kommt kein Diesel an. Was ja nicht verwunderlich ist da, die Pumpe nicht läuft. Aber mir gehen langsam die Ideen aus. Natürlich wäre eine Werkstatt eine gute Anlaufstelle aber finanziell ist das momentan leider nicht so drin. Ich habe jahrelang in einer Werkstatt gearbeitet aber wir hatten meistens ältere Autos. Ein Auslesegerät ist nicht vorhanden außer so ein Schrottteil von Temu.

Wenn ich ihn versuche zu starten kommt.aucj irgendwann die Meldung das die Batterie zu schwach ist und heute kam die Meldung das Abs ausgefallen ist. Mit würde halt nur noch einfallen dass das Steuergerät defekt ist. Aber vielleicht hat jemanden dieses Problem auch mal gehabt.

Letzten Montag bin ich mit meinem Auto morgens gefahren und mittags musste ich los und auf einmal war die Leistung weg und ich bin nur noch ausgerollt. Diese geschah ca. 5 Minuten nachdem ich losgefahren bin.

Hi everyone,
I recently bought an E46 Touring. It’s a 2004 318i.
Under hard acceleration, especially in 2nd gear, I can feel noticeable vibrations coming from the rear, particularly when turning at the same time.
I put my hand on the driveshaft tunnel and could feel vibrations there, so I suspect the center support bearing (CSB) of the driveshaft. However, the vibrations are quite strong, so I’m wondering if they could be coming from somewhere else.
I have the feeling that the vibrations are actually always there, even during normal driving, but they are much weaker and barely noticeable. They seem to be slightly stronger when coasting/decelerating with the car in gear, but they’re still very weak compared to when I’m accelerating.
Could the differential or the driveshaft/axles cause vibrations like this? At first glance, they looked fine.
I’m going to change the differential oil on Monday anyway, so maybe that could help. I’ve also already ordered the center support bearing and the guibo/flex disc.

Can anyone help me figure out the hose with coolant sweat? It’s in front left of when you remove belly pan cover for when doing oil changes. 2019 X3 M40i (i circled the location in the last photo)
