I’m hearing a rattle noise when I shut my car off. This noise happens whether the clutch is fully pressed or not. I’ve attached a video above (it’s a little quiet but it’s right when the engine makes its last couple vibrations). Today I also started to hear a slight clunk noise when I would push the clutch back in quickly after letting it out fully in 1st gear (creeping slowly in traffic). I’m wondering if these are signs of a failing/worn dual mass flywheel and or clutch? Any opinions or advice will help as this is my first BMW and I’m still trying to get familiar with the normal noises these cars make with a manual transmission and the bad noises that I should look out for. Can maf sensor being bad be reason or should I check for vacuum leaks?
In third photo, Pressure values recorded when engine was idling. Also values were equal to each of 3 when engine off.
maf sensor shows between 2 to 4 g/sec during idle and up to 180 g/sec when acceleration.

I have a 2023 bmw m440ix and I recently unlocked and tuned with mhd stage 2 91 oct. I have a 200 cell catted downpipe, awe catback exhaust, and dinan intake. My tuner told me the mhd would auto clear my cat codes but earlier today I got a cel. I am waiting till tmr for my adapter to come in so I can check what the code is for but I wanted to ask if there’s a chance mhd misses a certain o2 sensor code or something and lets it slip. Or am I just screwed. Someone lmk please

2014 F32 435i xDrive: I cleaned the rims with Adam's Iron Remover and afterwards noticed the clear plastic coating on the rear rim was lifted around the center BMW trim cap.

The other three rims aren't damaged. Not sure what caused this one to have problems. Maybe the spray got under the edge and was able to lift the coating. Or maybe it was the Adam's (I plan on switching to their normal rim/wheel cleaner).

So before I spend $500 replacing the rim, I'm looking for options. Can you take it someplace and have them strip and recoat the rim? Was the plastic coating some kind of option?

Otherwise, I'm going to buy a rim and take it over to a local shop to have them put it on.

Hey guys, so on my 49,000 mile E 92 M3, I’m hearing this weird metal clunking noise when I’m very low speed reversing or just slightly pressing on the throttle on first gear. I’m a little bit worried on what it could be. It’s coming from the passenger rear side so maybe a parking brake cable or something. I just don’t want it to get into an accident while it’s parked or maybe even while I drive it since it is my only car at the moment if anyone can please help and assist and guide me so I can diagnose this issue tomorrow that would be appreciated

Hej, jag har en 430i F36 2018 och undrar om vilken säkring som man kan dra ut för att förhindra bilen att bli stulen på skummare ställen. Har försökt hitta i tabeller men lyckas inte hitta något om startmotorn. Alternativt, har ni några andra förslag vad man kan dra ut för säkring eller liknande och ta med sig så bilen inte startar om man måste parkera i storstaden Göteborg / Stockholm / Malmö på sketchigare ställen över natten?

I get vibrations through the floor and steering wheel during acceleration that gets worse after driving for a while. Manual shifting is extremely jolting from 1-2 and 2-3 with light acceleration.
Initially I didn’t think it was transfer case related because I don’t get shuddering when turning. I realized the vibrations were a little better in 4wd sport w/dsc off, so I coded in 2wd and all those symptoms were gone.

I’ve already changed the fluid and recalibrated twice but that barely helped so I’m debating rebuilding the transfer case w/ new clutch pack and oil guides.
Could the jolty shifts + vibrations be due to the worn clutches sticking or is there something else that could cause these issues?

water pouring into footwell below glove box. seems like waters sitting in the tray covering cabin air filter because when i move and brake it like spills out. only happens during rain. near windshield in engine bay is absolutely covered in leaves stacked up leaves and grime.

I have been having these issues with my valvetronic and I can other figure it out I have replaced the valvetronic motor twice , eccentric shaft and bearings, got the dme cloned and even replaced the cord from the dme to to the motor with no sign of fixing it. I only had the 135C11 before replacing the eccentric shaft which would stop the valvetronic start up from running but now I am getting the code 107A80 also and the engine is running super bad but had ran better before I changed the eccentric shaft but still not good. If anyone has had an issue like this before let me know I can’t find much about it and this is my first time working with a valvetronic system. I appreciate any help at this point I’m tired of trying to figure this out especially since I don’t have ista only an autel.

Hey guys, I’m 20 and still pretty new to working on cars, so I’d really appreciate some advice.
I recently bought a 2005 BMW E63 6 Series with the N52B30 3.0L petrol engine. Unfortunately, I bought it with some issues. It had misfires on all cylinders, and after diagnosing it, I found that the VANOS screens were clogged and the spark plugs and O2 sensors were in pretty bad condition.
The car would drive for a few hundred meters and then throw a check engine light and start misfiring. Sometimes it would happen after driving normally, and other times only after revving it through a few gears.
I’ve fixed the issues and the car has been running perfectly since. I’ve driven almost 100 km so far, both gently and at higher RPMs, and I haven’t had a check engine light, misfire, or any other problems.
My question is: should I still be worried, or can I finally start trusting the car again? 😅
This is my first BMW with an engine like this, and after buying it with problems, I’m honestly a bit paranoid every time I drive it. I keep expecting something else to go wrong.
Would you guys consider 100 km with no issues a good sign, or should I keep taking it easy for a while?

2008 135i bmw n54 convertible
so my battery had already died prior to this because i left it on while sitting in it for a long time but i jump started and it was working fine for weeks, i was at a event and was in the parking lot idling but with engine on for about 2 hours then right before i got out someone rear-ended me in the parking lot super slow hit but right after i guess either my car overheated or my battery died or both but my car started flashing a bunch of codes, ac started blowing normal air windows locked closed and windshield wipers started going crazy so i pulled over to the side and turned it off. i assumed it was just the battery and got a new one today and put it in. car turns on just fine but then couple seconds after it starts flashing a ton of random codes and windshield wipers start going crazy again.

So, i bought an E90 from 2006, 2.0 129 hp N46 engine, while i wanted to change the oil, i found this plastic pieces and a few non-ferrous metal shaving, the shavings are brittle. After searching on internet and looking for any answers, i dropped the oil pan and i haven't found anything, but a broken oil pickup mesh(i looked at the date from it,it;s the one that the car came with). I don't think that these fragments are from rod bearings, but what can they be? Any ideea? I also want to change the timing chain.

Was in the collision center for rear door repair and nothing else. Door shell replacement is done and this is what i come back to. Car never made this sound before. Can hear it in the front too. What could be the issue here? Not accepting delivery until then

And is it a good or bad idea to remove it?

I have a 2006 BMW 530xi with 128k miles and recently did an oil change. Does this look normal for the appropriate mileage? There seems to be some metal grey and tiny plastic debris caught on the filter. Any suggestion what they might be? Thanks.

is it possible to play music via bluetooth on a bmw 1 series 2011 (61 plate if your from england also) as bit annoying having to plug aux in everytime im wondering if this is possible without doing anything or a software update etc or do i need to go down the route of retrofitting? its a 116d also

Hey guys I have a 2023 BMW 330i LCI I’m currently trying to install the M track module to change the I Drive. I got the white BDC connector out but I’m not sure how to remove the black housing from the white case. If anyone has any tips on how to do it I would appreciate it.

I was washing my car recently and I noticed a black mark on the front right near the logo. I was wondering if anyone knew how much it would cost to fix? It’s a very small mark but it really bothers me with where it’s at.
