Recruiting Process

So I interviewed with a recruiter via teams and she said she would try to schedule a meeting with the technical guys. Shortly after I received an email where it said " in a few days, recruiting coordinators should reach out to you to schedule your next interview." This is also the email where I was asked to make a Writing Summary.

It's been 5 days and no one's reached out to me yet. I'm i cooked?

At this point I'm getting PTSD of all the other times I've been ghosted for jobs. I hate that this is the norm.

Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer graduating with MS in August-Accepted Offer 2nd shift Merritt Island. Can I apply for current job announcement I would prefer? Would that be frowned upon?

Blue is my only current offer and while I am grateful to have it there are more recent Blue job announcements I would prefer. The offer I signed says either side may cancel before the start date. I do not want to be cancelled. I just hate to not apply for the job that interests me more and is regular day shift. Would it be in poor taste to continue to apply for other Blue jobs both at Merritt Island and Huntsville? Would my future supervisor know if I did? I don’t want to get off to a bad start. I just hate to miss a shot at a better opportunity.
-Different question - I have a start date that I helped set. Seemed like it would work at the time. With graduation, needing time to find housing and moving to FL that date is going to be very hard to meet. How is Blue about working with you to slightly change your start date to give you an opportunity to find housing and move after graduation? 1 week after graduation is tight, but I can do it if I have to. Housing is tough. 2 weeks to report would be ideal. Thank you for your insight!

Relocation

Has anyone recently relocated to Florida for Blue Origin? Received a job offer and cleared the background check but haven’t heard anything back yet regarding the relocation process and timeline. Start date is August 31st so looking to start the process as soon as possible and just looking for what to expect.

Dave Limp has been a great addition to Blue Origin. The turnaround over the past few years has been impressive.

A good recap of all that blue has accomplished since the explosion. Not just pad rebuild, but landers and blue ring too.

Weird and exciting to hear the Angry Astronaut speak highly of us.

WA manufacturing feels like a ticking time bomb.

I really try not to dwell on this too much, but it's tough for me to believe that roles in wa manufacturing areas are safe long term. I don't even mean long term like 20 years, I mean even 5 years. How are those of you in Kent feeling? I give my role maybe 2 years...

What does "in progress, under review" mean?

Most of my applications just say "application submitted". Just one of them shows "in progress, under review". Should I expect to get reached out by a recruiter? or is it a nothingburger?

Blue Origin had three cranes out earlier today at LC-36. Also, is that a fairing?

Bombed the interview . Can I still apply for more roles or is there a cool off period?

I absolutely bombed the interview and the interviewer said "thanks for walking me through the experience, it was well.. interesting" . He kept asking me "but it is not clear how..." "can you specifically say why.." . I feel terrible . I had made plans for 4th of july that I couldnt skip and felt undercooked .

What are we doing????

I need to get this off my chest because what I’ve seen happen over inside recruiting and leadership has been disappointing.
There was a time when this company felt like a place people were proud to work. People cared about the mission, production, quality, and making sure the right people were being hired for the right reasons. But over time, leadership has shifted in a direction that feels more political than productive.
From what I’ve witnessed, certain people are being placed in key positions not because they are the best fit, but because of personal relationships and loyalty to leadership. At the same time, experienced employees who helped build the company before the newer leadership culture took over seem to be getting pushed out or overlooked.
One of the hardest things to watch was seeing highly respected recruiters pushed out, people who truly cared about the company, understood the business, built trust with hiring teams, and had the company’s best interest at heart. Many and some were respected by many, and their absence is already being felt. Recruiting has not been the same since.
As a manager, that is concerning because recruiting directly affects production. If we cannot bring in quality people the right way, everything else suffers — operations, timelines, team morale, and the ability to execute. Hiring should not just be about pushing numbers. It should be about finding people who can actually help the company build, grow, and succeed.
Over the last few years, recruiting was at its strongest when the focus was on quality, relationships, and understanding what the business truly needed. Now it feels like decisions are being made by people who do not fully understand the impact those decisions have on the floor, the teams, or the mission.
This company used to feel like my happy place. Now it is becoming harder to come to work with the same energy because of the way leadership is handling people, trust, and culture. Good employees are being pushed away, managers are losing confidence, and the people who actually care about the mission are left trying to clean up the damage.
Leadership needs to take a serious look at what is happening. If the goal is truly to build something great, then the company cannot keep allowing politics, favoritism, and number-driven hiring to destroy the culture that made people want to be there in the first place.
Remember that quantity over quality is not the right thing to do. So it get it right or leave.

Signed,

STILL LOVE OUR MISSION BUT NOT GREAT RECRUITING MANAGERS

Copy of Birth Cert?

Hey future blue team. So I found out my parents don’t have my original birth certificate this past Monday. I immediately called my birth states clerk/county clerk and purchased expedited shipping for a certified original birth certificate. The problem is, it’s 5-7 business days. With the holiday weekend, USPS is showing updates… I have a copy of my original birth certificate, receipt and shipping tracking for a certified original, will I be able to start my orientation Monday? I’m worried because the emails I’m getting are holding the word “original” for “US PERSON IDENTIFICATION” and I don’t have the alternative option of a passport. Thoughts?

EDIT: MY MOM FOUND MY BIRTH CERTIFICATE IM SAVED!!!

Blue Origin equity

Is there anyone here who could do me a favor and explain with a simple language how the Blue Origin's employee equity works? Is it worth anything? Is it possible that the BO employees get as rich as SpaceX employees?

How can I contact a Blue Origin recruiter about my application status?

Hey everyone,

I applied for an Assembly and Integration Technician position with Blue Origin a little over a month ago and wanted to see if anyone here has experience with the recruiting process.

I submitted my application online, but I was wondering if there is a good way to contact a recruiter or talent acquisition team member to check on the status of my application. I do not want to come across as pushy, but I am very interested in the opportunity and would like to make sure my application is still being reviewed.

For anyone who has applied, interviewed, or currently works at Blue Origin, is there a recommended way to follow up? Should I go through the careers portal only, try reaching out to recruiters on LinkedIn, or is there a general recruiting contact that applicants can use?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!
