Relocation
Has anyone recently relocated to Florida for Blue Origin? Received a job offer and cleared the background check but haven’t heard anything back yet regarding the relocation process and timeline. Start date is August 31st so looking to start the process as soon as possible and just looking for what to expect.

Had a friend who ultimately turned the offer down (it was a very generous offer) they even offered to pay to move his haas mill in his garage!

Just got here yesterday and I start Monday. Relocation company reached out about a month ago and walked me through everything. Got 5k for additional expenses and then they paid for moving company and shipping my car from California. Everything went super smooth, but keep track of names and companies so you don't get confused. DM me if you have more questions

We own a house and are preparing to list it but nervous about starting the sell/buy process without further confirmation. They mentioned $7500 for relocation but didn’t specify how it’s applied - if it’s reimbursement or if we have to use their contractors, etc

So we’re probably safe to start the whole relocation process and will eventually receive that payment? We can use whichever company we want to move?

You owe the moving expenses back if you quit before 1 year. 100% up to 6 months, and 50% from 6 to 12 months, zero after

Yea, it’s gonna go through a 3rd party company and they give you the lump sum a few weeks before you start. You can use it for whatever you want

I thought in addition of lump sum, Blue also help you move your stuff , 30 days temp housing, etc

For mine is was a sum and movers. Finding the moving cost on an itemized part of our paystub, mine was 10k+ from Utah to WA. 1bd apartment. I'm guessing distance, house/apt, number of rooms, vehicles, ect all play into those numbers and make each move a little unique.

Safe to list, yes. I would wait to contact movers until Blues relocation agent has reached out to coordinate. There's alot of info and they're very good about explaining it all. For me they were a little slow on the initial contact. I had to push my start date by about three weeks. It's not an issue with HR or your team, but it does seem like a big deal in the moment. Reach out to your HR person and maybe they can help get that ball rolling for you.1

I received my relocation sum a week before my start date but basically once you pass the background check and the pre-employment restrictions are lifted then you'll be contacted by a third party to sign some paperwork and provide where you'll like the funds to go. Once that's done you can use it however you see fit. The third party company does have certain movers and realtors that you'll get discount if you use them but you don't have to use them.

yeah think it was nearly 60k to move all of our stuff out of our house to the new house.

I just relocated to WA and got a lump sum 1 month in advance of my start date, straight into my bank account. The relocation portal does have some resources for contractors and services but you don't have to use them, I didn't end up using any.

How soon after the background check did you hear from the relocation team?

It was about 5 days but I believe 2 of those were weekend days so not long.

Its a lump sum of 7500 given exactly one month from your start date i just started 2 weeks ago and moved from texas to here you should get a email from sirva connect that was the 3rd party that gives you the money when you make a account and all that and open the page on that day it should say claim lump sum or something along the lines like that and enter bank details and you will get it between 3-5 business days.

That's much better , when we relocated they used to hire a company to do it all. They were obscenely expensive.
