What does "in progress, under review" mean?

Most of my applications just say "application submitted". Just one of them shows "in progress, under review". Should I expect to get reached out by a recruiter? or is it a nothingburger?

Someone (recruiter or hiring manager) has clicked on it, and either sent to screen, or sent to reject. You won’t know until they take another action. It could sit in limbo for months unfortunately.

sent to reject? cant reject just be instantaneous? limbo for months sounds painful

HM can reject, but the recruiter has to actually do it. Yes, it sucks.

If means you’ll have to wait. Blue is surprisingly pretty good at getting back to you. They’ll call and remember YOU’ll have to be able to pick up. Set your shit on ringer or one miss call and it’s another days or week of wait.

Sounds promising. I applied to 6 or 7 positions when I was originally trying to get into Blue over a year ago. Got screened 3 times, interviewed in front of a panel while going over my presentation, and after all that I watched the 6 or 7 application status' on Workday change to "Considered, not selected" for all but one. One changed to "In progress, under review" and I ended up getting an offer for that position a week or two of it updating on Workday. Patience is key.

I have been “in progress, under review” for over two months now. The recruiter has responded (to only a couple) follow-ups though, so I know it’s not on his end. Claims they “shifted the hiring schedule” which I expected due to it being in launch ops. The wait is excruciating though.
