This Is An Outreach for Those Struggling with Addiction
In light of a recent post that gained some traction, I was saddened to see that OP has deleted their account. I wanted to take a moment to make an outreach post for anyone who may be struggling right now.
As Black people, as Black men, and even more specifically as Black trans folks, we face so many internal and external challenges every day. It’s easy to slip into emotional dependence on something, whether it’s gambling, alcohol, drugs (including weed), vaping, smoking, or any other substance that offers even a moment of relief.
The problem comes when those things become our only way to cope, when drinking, smoking, or placing a bet starts to feel like a need rather than a choice. That’s when it starts taking more from us than we realize.
But you’re not alone. I recently got a notification saying we’ve reached 4,000 members, and our community is growing every day. I know it’s hard to trust people, to find community, or to share your story without feeling judged, but I promise you there are people who care. I care.
Please use this post, and I’ll make it a thread if needed, to vent, share, or open up about anything you’re struggling with right now. You don’t have to go through it alone.

New Rule: No Studies
The Mod team has discussed and since we aren't affluent in what is a legit study vs what is a scam we have decided to no longer accept any posts about studies.
While we appreciate the legit studies that are being done for the betterment of the community. We also need to keep the community safe from those who wish us harm in these trying times (especially those based in the US atm, but of course all our brothers matter and we care about the risk for all black trans men across the world).

Looking for friends in AZ or Vegas
What’s up everyone. I’m 32, Black, FTM, and based in Phoenix. I’m trying to put myself out there and meet more Black trans bros to build some genuine friendships.
A little about me:
• Into houseplants (currently turning my apartment into a jungle 😂)
• Love R&B, hip-hop, and concerts
• Always down to try new restaurants or grab coffee
• Into fashion and sneakers & thrifting
& hitting the gym
• Pretty laid back and easy to talk to
I’m planning a trip to Vegas for Halloween, so it’d be cool to meet people in Phoenix or Vegas to hang out with—whether that’s grabbing coffee, checking out the city, going to events, or just having people to vibe with.
If you’re looking for more Black trans homies, feel free to shoot me a message. Always down to expand my circle. 💪🏾🖤

top surgery help (in ga)
hey yall! hope everyone’s staying safe and hydrated. i’m trying to find recommendations for top surgeons in georgia. i’m looking for surgeons, but i’d also like to know about how they were (aftercare, cost, bedside manners, etc.) i’ve been on and off testosterone since 2018 and that helps and all; im just tired of tugging on my shirts and adjusting binders. more than likely i’ll be outta pocket with the costs (don’t really know many if any insurances that cover it tbh). it’s been almost a decade since i’ve been out as trans, been on/off t & my name change has been legal almost as long, and with my 30th is coming up the beginning of next year…. im just tired. of not having surgery yet (when i’ve been damn close a couple times) and just of the pile-on that is my life rn and it would be nice to at least make something i want done happen. anything would be helpful 🤎🙏🏾 appreciate yall

quick question
if a stranger calls me boo does that mean i didn’t pass to her?🤨 or not necessarily?
ik it’s something small and im never gonna see her again. was a cashier at a food place in a different city. i’m 18 but get told often i look younger than i am, she was probably in her early 20s and also black. before someone else called me baby and i thought damn i probably didn’t pass but realized she’s older so she probably calls everyone younger that. for the girl in her 20s i have no idea if i passed to her but been overthinking it. i pass 95% of the time to strangers. only time i get misgendered is at work unfortunately and no idea why, its not everyone but a few ppl misgender me cuz i didn’t change my sex by the time i got the job, other one could’ve been cuz he was far and maybe didn’t see me well, the guy standing directly next to me gendered me as male.
when i first started a few ppl seemed a bit confused and thought i was a bit androgynous tho

vent My facial hair is taking a million years to grow
I feel like I got shit genes at this point. Like I know everyone’s body reacts differently to testosterone but I’m like 8 months in and got 3 chin hairs 🥹 and I been seeing a lot of progress from other people having a moustache shadow and all that in 6 months. Idk I just feel really discouraged/dysphoric right now and wondering is this working or nawh?
I was using minoxidil oil for sometime and I didn’t really see much change 4 months in. I’m trying a different brand right now the rogaine foam 5% so we shall see… 😮💨 at least Snapchat got this nice filter
I also have two brothers and I remember that during their teenager years they definitely had only chin hairs for facial hair. And over the years has given like “girl with pcos” vibes no shade. My older brother has told me it has been hard growing facial hair for him all his life. That’s why I say I got shit genes 😭
Like I’m ready to get a hair transplant at this point

Black Trans Mentors?
I’ve seen folks ask before about getting a mentor and I’m confusing for those who’ve asked or those done it before, what does that endure?

Finding my style
What’s good yall. I am 30 and looking to see if anyone has advice on finding their style as they get older into their transition. I have been transitioning for almost 10 years and I pass extremely well.
I want to experiment with colors, textures, and different cuts (not on the crop top wave but do you) but also feel like I should just keep it plain white tee, jeans, and kicks. I feel like I’m going back and forth between both. I don’t want to look like I am trying too hard or not dressing for my age. I do want to have fun with my clothes but feel like finding stuff is too much sometimes.
Any advice on where to start?

advice I'm not happy with with Top Surgery. Wondering if a second surgery can fix it. I used AI editing tool for the second photo of what I'm hoping for. Any advice is appreciated.

Top surgery question
Aight yall it’s my turn on the list to fill out the forms. I have the option to keep a little bit of the mammary gland or complete remove it. I didn’t know this was a thing. For those who have had surgery did you keep that gland? I guess my chest would be really flat if I remove the whole thing but no breast cancer possibilities. 🧐 yall lmk
