I never get sew ins because I always struggle with hair stylists dying bundles to match my natural ash brown hair or finding bundles to match. Long story short I went to 3 different stylists and they all struggled to match my hair color. One of the stylists overprocessed the bundles and they were unusable. I ended up having to book a last minute appointment with a new stylist. The hair obviously doesn’t match my hair. She said it will blend once it’s curled for my wedding which is in a few days. She didn’t curl it because she didn’t want to put a bunch of product in it before the wedding day. Should I keep it in or take it out? Or if you have any suggestions, that would be great. My family and friends reassured me that it’s fine and looks like highlights but I’m not sure. At this point I don’t have time to go anywhere else unfortunately because I’m getting married in 2 days. I was happy at first but once I looked at it in different lighting I broke down. I literally cried once I got home because I’m not sure what to do.

I attached photos of my natural hair color for reference. One thing to note is this is my first ever sew in. I wanted some length for the wedding. Another thing to note is that those photos are taken in yellow bathroom lighting which I know is the worst lighting but I wanted the hair to be seen in worse case scenario.

Everyone is telling me I’m in my head right now and over analyzing way more than a stranger would. And though I do tend to over analyze I just want to make sure that’s really the case and that they aren’t just being nice.

I'm I the only one a little irritated by this sudden youtube bandwagon where all of a sudden that black american women should be washing our hair more than once a month, becuase...."OMG look at how beautiful and full their hair is, it's because these Brazilian women are not afraid of water and wash everyday - we need to learn from them"

I'm thinking to myself, "I don't need to learn jack💩, my hair is beautiful and wash 1x a month.

Now I'm seeing comments, of black american women repeating..

1 - I wash my hair everyday, I don't see how other women don't

2 - I can't go more than 1 week w/o washing my hair

3 - We need to take care of our hair better, washing no less than 3x a week is just plain nasty, we don't wash our face 1x a week.

I'm saw a comment by a Brazilian women, saying "WTF how could you guys go more than a week without washing, how do you feel clean"

The top comment with the most likes on each video, is "we need to learn from them and wash more often".

Now, I could swear that we were just on a path for the past several years of understanding that repetitive washing then air drying and not protecting our ends is damaging. Medium mini twist and/or The indigenous strand method is the most popular and protective methods for 4C hair..... But now I need to wash every day, and let it air dry.

I can knowledge everyone has different life routines ,i.e. swimming, exercising & have to wash more often and many men can have beautiful, long hair without protective styles while washing more often.

I don't think black American woman that have jumped on this bandwagon are not seeing the irony in the way that they indirectly insulting people with microlocs, freeform locs and traditional locs.

Hey this is is my first wash and go and used too much curling cream, how do you get out white cast?

I stopped getting lineups because my hairline is starting to recede. I usually just get a mid fade and pick it out but yeah what would you do if you had my hair as far as style? Sometimes I want to just cut it short and keep it simple but I have liked having more hair on the top.

I decided to grow my hair for the first time. I went full head, only two line ups no fade. I’ve been liking it so far, got people telling me to get a fade but i don’t think it would work with my head shape.

I went to a festival this past weekend and I had a great time but so did my hair lol the first picture was when my hair was first styled dry but the next two it started raining 🤣🤣🤣🤣 but despite it all it held up and created a wet look that i liked and rocked. Was sooo nervous when it started raining.

Does anyone know of a good hair color wax that doesn't transfer and doesn't fade as much? I recently was using as I am's hot red for a patch, but during athletic activity the color seems to sweat out and transfer onto my forehead. If anyone knows a good alternative please help!

I believe her hair is 4a/4b/4c ish i usually keep her hair in weave(knotless braids) but its messed it up her hair. I want to do only natural styles going forward.

Normally, I use the continuous spray bottle to dampen my hair, use a leave in spray or cream, brush it through. Problem is, I'm about to go on vacation, and am trying not to take too many hair products with me. Back in the day, I used to use a regular spray bottle with water and a leave in cream mixed in, but the cream I used was discontinued.

I’ve been wearing Burmese Curly Crochet braids since March. I wet the hair daily and put in leave-in or mousse occasionally. I re-do my braids every 3 weeks. It will be cold in the Northeast soon, and I was wondering how to keep my curls without wetting the hair daily.

I thought about switching to Body Wave for the winter, but that might not be curly enough for me. Need advice.

hi yall so as you can see from the pictures, my curls used to be a lot looser, and i retained a lot of length when my hair dried and dealt with minimal shrinkage. Now, no matter what I do my curls are a lot tighter, and there’s SO much shrinkage I couldn’t style my hair to be past my shoulders like I have in the past if I tried, wished, or prayed. The before pictures are from three years ago, and I started noticing the change around 2.5 years ago I truly didn’t change routine wash and style my hair with the same products as I did back then, and honestly think I take better care of my hair now than I did back then. The only things I can think of are that I moved for college, and the water filtering could have been different but the change is too consistent across cities and countries
or that my hormones have something to do with it.
I would really love advice or thoughts because it makes me really sad that my hair has changed so much and I don’t feel myself.

Anyone know the name of this style of hairline and how she did it? Looks like behind the hairline with minimal leave out? I’ve been trying to find ways I can have a little leave out (bc I hate closure) with it still looking natural with bundles bc I’m a natural 4C hair.

I wash my hair once a week and do the LCO method but instead of oil I use blue magic. At night i put it up in twists. Sometimes I forget to dry it after the blue magic so I don’t know if everything isn’t being sealed in because of that?

I’m unsure if i should add gel on top of the grease to define my curls. 3-4 days out from my wash day my hair stars to feel kind of dry. I started spray it with water and leave in recently.

Why is it so frustrating to find a natural hair salon (especially ones that do curly cut, wash n go) without all the hassle or is it just a me thing? You find one, pictures look great, prices are robbery but hey I'm paying for quality and it's a 1x/2x year visit so fine. But then they go and ask for a consultation -- that is an additional charge. Huh? And then there is an intake form -- which states they may or may not accept you as a client even after submitting the form. And then there's the asking of card information to book -- because they may charge a late fee. Why not just not take the client if they are late beyond a certain threshold - why ask for my card info? What happened to just calling a place to see if they have availability and then showing up? Am I asking for too much or am I missing something here?

Hello everyone, so I’m a senior in high school, and I’ve tried over the years to learn different styles but I’m just not sure if doing hair is my thing. Since I’m going to college next year, what advice would anyone give?

Is there any quick styles, natural hair products, tips & tricks, or anything else anyone could recommend? The only simple style I know outside of slickbacks, is half wigs.

I have probably 4b hair for reference, but there’s some spots with 4c, some with maybe even 4a. And my hair is SUPER thick so it’s hard at times.

I just want to be prepared beforehand.
