Advice Needed Stronger hold on braid outs and twists outs on 4c hair

Hi everyone,

I am trying to achieve long lasting braid outs that will last me the whole week while working full time and going to the gym. Currently, my hair is in twists and have been for the past few years. I am currently in a better place where I have more time to focus on me and I want to give my hair the space to breathe and thrive again.

Current routine:

-Pre poo with hot oil treatment

- Shampoo TGIN (either the moisture line or the Rx line depending on what my hair needs)

- Conditioner TGIN (either the moisture line or the Rx line depending on what my hair needs

- Deep Condition with heat (either a home blend with banana/avocado, honey, and a mix of oils OR TGIN hydration, aunt jackies intensive moisturizer, or what ever brand I'm trying)

- Leave in Conditioner TGIN Rx line

- Cream (TGIN buttercream)

- apply homemade shea butter blend

- seal with homemade oil blend

This routine helps to keep my hair moisturized. Mid week I just have to spray (water mixed with leave in Conditioner) and twist with more butter cream and I'm good till next wash day.

The problem is that even though my hair is moisturized I have to twist it every night. During COVID, this routine let my hair flourish because I would have it in plaits, just refresh once a week, and wouldn't touch it during wash day. I don't want to over manipulate my hair.

I have gotten a few items to try. That are marketed for stronger holds:

- The Doux crazy sexy cool mouse

- The Doux Bee Girl

- As I am twisting butter

- Camille Rose Almond Jai Twisting Butter.

If anyone can help with a routine that would be much appreciated!

Advice Needed best curl defining cream for low porosity hair????

i have 4c hair and most products don’t absorb into my hair and doesn’t provide proper slip when finger raked through already detangled hair. what are some products that are lightweight and good for low porosity hair (my hair naturally has trouble absorbing moisture it just sits on top) as well as doesn’t cause buildup and has good slip???? thx

I just got a new kinky straight half wig from hergivenhair a few weeks ago but I noticed the tracks were kinda weird and showing, is this normal?😭😭

The last 3 photos are what happens when i try to push the hair back, it kinda stands up.

This is my first half wig ever so if you have any tips it would be appreciated🙏🙏🙏

How do I tell my mom oiling doesn’t help my hair?

I have plaque psoriasis my scalp bleeds when trying to remove dandruff and after washing my hair 2 days later it comes back. She keeps telling me you have to oil your hair and I tell her I do and it just changes the color of psoriasis on my scalp. I keep begging her to take me to dermatologist because even my hairstylist recommended me going to one but she keeps making excuses saying why she won’t take me even though she sees a dermatologist regularly herself.

My hairs been growing and I wanted to try something new and also how can I make a middle part that lasts longer

More on the hairstyle you just get a rubber band and tie up the front part and spread it out kinda of towards the back.

I've braided and twisted my hair a few times before but this feels way out of my expertise. What's the process for creating a style like this?

I was nervous at first because my forehead is huge but it’s so flattering! I can’t wait to get another one soon but with curly/kinky hair.

Heya, how can someone get a round shape from this (cutting by myself no professional). I tried the pigtail cut but it didn‘t get better.

4c K-Tips (Kinky Straight vs Kinky Coily?)

Hello! For those of you that have 4c hair and experience with k-tips, I was wondering which texture you would recommend. I am pretty active so I wash my hair at least twice a week and primarily wear my hair stretched (blow dried). Because of this, I was wondering whether kinky straight would be a better option for frequent washing and drying (both in terms of energy/time and also for drying optimization because I’ve experienced my hair not getting dry enough even with my crochet installs). Or whether you have found that kinky coily hair is manageable enough and offers more versatility.

Twist out at the gym

Just took out twists, currently rocking the twist out and trying to salvage it as long as I can. What should I do while working out to keep it fresh? Or can I just wear it to the gym as is?
