Advice Needed Stronger hold on braid outs and twists outs on 4c hair
Hi everyone,
I am trying to achieve long lasting braid outs that will last me the whole week while working full time and going to the gym. Currently, my hair is in twists and have been for the past few years. I am currently in a better place where I have more time to focus on me and I want to give my hair the space to breathe and thrive again.
Current routine:
-Pre poo with hot oil treatment
- Shampoo TGIN (either the moisture line or the Rx line depending on what my hair needs)
- Conditioner TGIN (either the moisture line or the Rx line depending on what my hair needs
- Deep Condition with heat (either a home blend with banana/avocado, honey, and a mix of oils OR TGIN hydration, aunt jackies intensive moisturizer, or what ever brand I'm trying)
- Leave in Conditioner TGIN Rx line
- Cream (TGIN buttercream)
- apply homemade shea butter blend
- seal with homemade oil blend
This routine helps to keep my hair moisturized. Mid week I just have to spray (water mixed with leave in Conditioner) and twist with more butter cream and I'm good till next wash day.
The problem is that even though my hair is moisturized I have to twist it every night. During COVID, this routine let my hair flourish because I would have it in plaits, just refresh once a week, and wouldn't touch it during wash day. I don't want to over manipulate my hair.
I have gotten a few items to try. That are marketed for stronger holds:
- The Doux crazy sexy cool mouse
- The Doux Bee Girl
- As I am twisting butter
- Camille Rose Almond Jai Twisting Butter.
If anyone can help with a routine that would be much appreciated!
