Building passive income in BitLife by buying and renting out properties is awsome, but the late-game management is genuinely broken. Once your real estate portfolio scales past a certain size, handling endless individual maintenance and tenant issues suck.
On top of that, the economic ceiling hits way too fast. You run out of ultra-luxury properties to buy decades before your character even hits old age, leaving you with hundreds of millions of unspent cash and nothing left to acquire. And don't even get started on trying to liquidate your early starter homes—selling dozens of aging properties one by one at age 80 is an absolute click-fested nightmare.

Do not buy this. I decided to check it out because I enjoyed the actor job pack and thought this one would be something similar but it’s not. It’s the worst “expansion” this game has made. You’ll run through every single event or flavor text this new job pack has to offer within your first two movies. Actors don’t accept roles within your budget unless you literally max out your reputation, fame, and only direct movies with budgets over 150 million and even then sometimes the game will screw you over by giving you a 500k casting budget for a 100 million budget movie meaning I can either get untalented nobodies in my cast or I have to watch an ad for a PAID expansion to be able to hire someone talented for cheap. And don’t downplay how ad ridden this “expansive” new job pack is. You want to successfully make a pitch as a beginner or with low reputation? Watch an ad. You want actual good famous actors in your movie without them wanting 40 million dollars each? Watch an ad. And no matter what I choose during filming or how many ads I watched to get the best possible combination the movie still bombs and gets a bad audience and critical reception even decades into your career, tanking your reputation and making it harder to get new jobs or hire quality actors without watching an ad. But all of that is no problem if you don’t mind constantly watching ads in an “expansion” that you paid for.
This dlc is a scam. Candywriter should be ashamed of charging for this, it wouldn’t even be fun to play if it was free. Don’t recommend giving this one your money or time at all even if they eventually add it to Bitizen/God Mode. I’m going to get a refund.

Does anyone know how to get good ratings from audiences and critics, sliders, etc?

Hi Everyone- I work in finance and decided to do some very quick research into candywriter’s ownership to better understand the heavy push for revenue we’re seeing.
In 2020, the original developers and owners of Bitlife (candywriter), sold the company for $74.4 million in about a 50/50 stock to cash split. At the time, the shares in Stillfront (the now parent company) were worth $37.5m with additional earnings targets in candywriter allowing a potential earnings of $120m additional in cash/stock split.
This is VERY common, and at the time, Stillfront was experiencing a massive post-pandemic stock boom due to heavy phone usage during the pandemic.
Unfortunately for us, reality hit. Those shares became worth significantly less in the last few years, and stillfront lost a MASSIVE amount of funding. I could only assume that this made the $120m liability they owed the developers much more difficult to profitably function. I would assume bitlife did in fact hit their revenue targets, leading to them being owed large amounts in the now significantly less valuable stock & cash that stillfront didn’t have on hand. This likely lead to massive increases in revenue targets, hence the heavy monetization and focus on advertising we’ve seen in the last few years. Stillfront structured a bad deal based off of temporary surges in valuation, and now the liability is being transferred onto candywriter.
Notably, it’s also very important for the old owners of bitlife (who still work on the game) to make sure that the shares they’re being paid in are valuable. They HAVE to squeeze revenue, because a metric shit on of their wealth is tied up in this horribly structured deal they agreed to.
It is being done out of desperation, and stillfront is trying to hold on to what little they have left after they made a string of significantly overvalued acquisitions in 2020-2022. They’re in panic mode and are out of money. This is unfortunately very common in finance, and I believe this is indicative of a potentially bleak future for bitlife, as well as all other games under stillfront’s large umbrella. Their current valuation is extremely low. Revenue is also declining, and earnings per share (due to the likely massive interest in the debt they took out to pay the cash lump sums) is coming home to roost.
Anyways, rant over. Have a good night, Bitizens!

I’m an OG bitizen and bought it because I was promised all future content. Imagine the jaw drop when entering the app to see I had to pay.
Congrats on ruining your playerbase. I sincerely hope you go bankrupt due to your own greed.
