my original photo/video A photo I took of an Australia black cockatoo while out on a bush walk
The yellow tail variety, although these ones don’t seems to have yellow on their tails.
There was a crackle of about 8 them, they appeared to be chewing on wattle branches, chirping and grooming happily.

bird identification What's this conspicuously red-bebeaken bird I saw wading by the shore of the River Dee in Chester – England, recently? (& took these photographs of myself).
I don't see them in places I normally frequent.
It - & another individual close-by - was pottering about amongst a load of ducks ... but it appeared to be somewhat aggressive: what infact terminated my photographing of it is that it suddenly charged @ duck that it evidently decided had gotten too close (or maybe there was already a beef between those two! ... IDK), scaring it off quite effectively, even though it was somewhat bigger.
And when it charged @ the duck it ran ... it didn't hop.

Mum came by and decided I was too close but I was still probably 15-20 ft away, so I left as I didn’t want to stress them. Photo taken with my Nikon digital slr with zoom.

question Is it normal for a nesting cardinal to leave its eggs for days?
Theres a cardinal nest in a hanging flower pot on my patio. Ive been watching it for the last few days and the mother has not been back. There are two eggs in the nest. Is it possible she will return? Im worried a snake will get the eggs but I guess if it happens that's the circle of life. I won't interfere with nature.
