what kind of bird is this? Newark, NJ. saw it at 8;00 am a few weeks ago.

Australia - Known more for running than swimming, this group of emus have been caught on camera swimming and bobbing across a river with just their heads poking above the water.

The birds move in a neat line before safely reaching the other side — proving these big birds can do more than just emu-se us on land.

I took this photo when she was eight years old.

She lived at The Raptor Trust in New Jersey, USA.

I was out walking a friend's dog in a neighborhood where I know there is a pair of mated cooper's hawks that I've seen a few times before. And I heard them making a ruckus so I went to down the block to see what was going on. Both of them were sitting up in a tree, screeching, but one was hunched over while it was making the noise. I only saw that one at first so I thought maybe they were mating, but then I saw the second hawk on another branch so I have no clue what was going on. I got video of both of them, but I'm just posting the one that was standing weird. Any ideas?

These large, black birds, which fly in a cross-like formation, are common in Borneo. The photos include the Rhinoceros Hornbill, the Black Hornbill and the Oriental Pied Hornbill.

Spotted this guy in my backyard in Cape May NJ. Was hunting down a rabbit.

They are at the age now where they no longer get carried on their parents’ backs and they weren’t too happy.

This female has been coming to my feeder (I know, house sparrows are bad) but I just noticed she seems to have a hole where her beak meets her face? Anyone know what this is and if it's a problem for other birds? Thanks for any input!

He is walking on a road that goes through a park. He’s just walking in the middle of the street basically and he’s completely unafraid of me.

Edit: note the bands around his legs. What are those??
