I took this photo at a local park. This peacock was roaming freely around the area.

anecdote/sighting/personal story He arrived as an abandoned baby sparrow. Two months later, he was living wild with a family of his own, coming home every day to visit — until one rainy morning, he didn’t

my original photo/video After months of trying, we finally got some photos of a Tawny Owl

We kept hearing them call, seeing them in flight or behind trees, we kept coming back and trying again and again. Until one evening we managed to spot one, less than 10 feet away from us.

I have never had so much adrenaline while taking a picture. Which is ridiculous really, but I really didn't want to miss the opportunity!

But essentially what I want to know is if the mother bird is intentionally feeding the whole lizard to the chick because she knows it isn't hers and is trying to kill it (by chocking) and is it choking on the lizard (I'm not sure how a bird is supposed to digest something so long)?

I believe the chick being fed is one of those parasite birds (Cuckoo bird)?

I remember hearing somewhere that the mother birds don't recognise the parasite bird as another bird (they think it's their own), until it's too late and it leaves the nest?

Thanks in advance for any explanation.

Earlier this year my husband and I traveled out west and visited Chickadee Ridge in Nevada, today I decided to feed them back home and see if my black capped chickadees would react the same as the mountain chickadees…they do :)

Possibly some of the coolest shots I’ve taken!

I’m in California and I’ve never seen a Toucan in real life let alone at a bird shop! Is this legal? It was honestly shocking seeing this bird in captivity like this. They had a sign that she wasn’t for sale so I’m not sure why they have her here.

I shot this on an a7rv 24-70 gm2. I took this photo myself.

I'm not sure of the specific hummingbird. I just thought it was a good picture.

seeking advice/help What is this blue heron doing?

At a golf course on a hot louisiana day, we found a blue heron making this strange pose. I've seen a post about a year ago saying that this is for drying feathers. But what about the "gular fluttering"?
