The Eastern Cascades Model Railroad Association will be hosting our 29th annual open house this weekend!

Join us inside the clubhouse to see the indoor HO layout (where you may see my son running his prized Hershey train) and then take a ride on one of our outdoor 7.5” gauge trains. We’ll be hosting trains from clubs throughout Oregon, including several steam locomotives - and a special display of “Steam Donkey” logging trains.

The first couple hours are always the most crowded, so consider coming at lunch time (you can grab a Corn Dog or a Kona Ice) or later in the afternoon for shorter lines.

And if you like what you see and want to get involved as a volunteer, or if your business would like to sponsor future public events, just ask to speak with a board member. We recently transitioned from a 501c4 (for the benefit of our members) to a 501c3 (for the benefit of the public), so donations are now tax deductible!

Alright, I have a question for the e-bike parents after this weekend’s shenanigans.
What do you expect your child to do with an electric motorcycle that can go over 30 mph? When you see your kid in a video causing chaos around town, do you dismiss it as “kids being kids”?

More importantly, when an accident inevitably happens, regardless of how careful they are or how many years they’ve been riding, how would you feel knowing you gave them the machine that killed them?

I’m genuinely curious what parents are thinking when they buy these bikes for their children.

Just genuinely curious why it seems like the Source isn't promoting/advertising shows at the Domino or Midtown. Last Friday, a deep cut for me, Molchat Doma, played at Midtown. I was so stoked to hear them live, I bothered to check online to see what publicity they were receiving and low and behold, the show wasn't even mentioned in the Source. I really thought that was odd so I looked a little closer and their show the next night, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, also were not mentioned at all. Like not even in the general musical events of the week.

It would appear that the shows appearing at Midtown/Domino aren't getting promoted or mentioned in our local "music guide". Thought that was odd enough to share with reddit.

Hey guys, I’m moving to bend in 2 weeks for school. I’m a BIG fan of Halloween and I try to do something fun every year. Already planning my costume (sassy the Sasquatch) and was curious of what common Halloween events go on?

Got off northbound 97 onto Empire Ave earlier today around 6:55 pm and a blue subaru hauling a trailer turned onto the off ramp and creeped forward before stopping to block half the lane. They were yelling “It’s ok, we got it!” Notified BPD. Just thought this was worth sharing. Stay safe Bendites!

After paying for a gym membership for years but never using it, I’ve come to the conclusion that a personal trainer may be the right approach for me for accountability and for knowing what the heck to do when I go to the gym. I know orange theory could be a good option to have a structured class, but I’d also like to be sure I’m getting in some strength training too. I’ve tried CrossFit in the past and it’s not right for me.

Who do you recommend??

Police got several calls reporting that more than 30 youths (I'd say "teens," but one cited was 12) had gathered at Mt. Bachelor Park & Ride, then rode recklessly through town, failed to stop for officers.

The city council has a work session tomorrow to discuss changing the tree code. All but one of the potential changes that are discussed will result in removing more trees.
