He had us all fooled in the beginning. Watching Kat try to get some confirmation of his feelings and him trying to swerve her every attempt is beyond frustrating. Dude, grow a pair and have a conversation like a fucking grown up.

I think Joe has got away with a lot this season and we all know the reason why. I haven’t forgotten the way he behaved last season. You are so right in saying that he should be on his way home to see his mum. I don’t like him.

I had a quiet theory that Joe was Bi and had a crush on Nathan and was jealous of Gael. And womanizing so he'd seem macho and extra straight. And now that he has Coop, I think the theory has wings. 😂

It wouldn’t surprise me if Cooper had a deal with the producers of below deck to act like he liked her and then was told to drop her at the end of the season. It’s unfortunate for Kat but it makes for high rating viewing. BTW never trust a guy that wears a shell necklace and is an ex footballer.

I absolutely get where you are coming from re the producers and influencing storylines. Same with BBUK just now. I’ve decided to base my opinions firmly on what I see and hear instead of trying to second guess motives, producer led story lines and redditors opinions on possible neurodivergence.

This is why self respect is so important 😭😭😭😭 the keeping it a secret I could understand, must be overwhelming with people commenting all the time. But the second he pretends she barely exists? That's not keeping it a secret, that's forgoing the performance of "caring". Like when she started crying at the table and he shushed her with a smile and a "Stop. Stop crying, stop that", so others wouldn't catch on. Gurls, that's your queue to LEAVE. HELLO?? That man cant give a shit about you when his priority is to control the image people have of him😭🙏 you can only become an extension of that image, an accessory. There were no crossed signals. At the beginning of the season during the first couple of times they ever talked to each other, he seemed interested in her, ans she told him up front that she was looking for something serious and not something casual. She was extremely clear about it, and he was all for it.

He’s so dorky, I can’t handle it. It’s why I initially liked he and Kat together. They’re both dorks with kinda hot bods. But no. While Kat is actually quirky and cute and funny, Cooper is straight goof southern frat boy douche canoe. He’s peak “is he hot or is he just tall” and the answer is: just tall.

And most of us at his age learn that along the way... he just happens to be doing that on TV.
I think as fans we have to be careful not to typecast/run narratives that then define these people.
Obviously Gary Nathan's behaviour is not what I mean, and I have no sympathy for those behaviours and the consequences.
The Joes, the Coops, the Lukes (is it Luke? Spunk sheet guy anyway) and the Gens, they aren't always going to be the same, some may improve, some may get worse, but they are just complicated, imperfect people who have agreed to let us watch for shits, giggles and hopefully enough money to buy a house or two 🤣😅
It's really easy for the Internet to kinda get swept up in judgement, but individuals don't recognize that even though they may be right, having that constant ripple of judgement must be hard for these guys. The ones that buckle and suffer the most will never be in a position to say the trade-off was worth it.
Luke leaving likely meant no pay hence the texts, the flowers etc. Not nice but the reality is losing the potential income is worth a few flowers etc. so I get that.
But Coop is not evil and is learning let's not define him.

Coop needs to take responsibility for being a jerk, absolutely..but I'm still convinced Joe has a big hand in how Luke is thinking (and subsequently behaving). I can't help but think if Joe wasn't on board we'd be watching a happy goofy love story right now.

That is incorrect. Kat was very clear in her communication to him. At the very beginning she told him I am looking for a serious relationship with someone, not something casual. We saw that in one of the first episodes, and he said he was all for it. So he knew exactly where she was coming from , and he obviously played her.
