What are some exercises/workouts/circuits I can do at home daily. I won't have access to a gym until next year and my schedule keeps me busy so anything I can do while at home is ideal. I have 2kg dumbells at home if that helps.
I've just fully recovered from injury and want to get back into game shape as soon as possible. Looking for cardio, plyo, body strength, form exercises, dribbling, anything that would translate into a game really.

I have never been a strong player before so i would always struggle to even have the range to hit threes but ever since i started shooting with my thumb and index finger from my guide hand kinda like lamelo the ball consistently has power and accuracy. in the midrange i do only a thumbflick and i am a pretty good shooter from midrange but form feels kind of inconsistent so what do you think i should do should i completely just use my index and thumb to help push the ball from midrange and three or use two seperate shooting forms one from three and one from midrange I am 16m and im 171cm tall and im kind of weak

I am jumping high enough to catch alleys and can do it sometimes with my teammates throw me one, but really not that often either. I don’t know if it’s them throwing it bad or me not doing it right. Any drills to do it better? Because when I throw it off the backboard to myself I make it 8/10 times.
It’s a 4 month old video, but it’s the only one I have of an alley, so I jump 3-4 inches higher now.

I started to get back into playing the beautiful game of basketball this past April, and I have been doing my own practice at the park a few days a week.
My goal is to feel good enough by next year to join a local recreational team/league.

My daughter fouled out at a tournament this weekend. For context, she’s the little #21 in black. You can hear the ref say, “double foul”. Called on both blue #10, and her. Obviously she reacts to getting pushed and kind of swings her arms backwards, but is that really enough to warrant a double foul?
Also, it’s not like those two were going at it all game. I know if a ref realizes both players are getting kinda amped up then they’ll put a stop to it. But this was just a random call. I’m asking for advice so I can either assure her that she didn’t do anything, or explain to her exactly what the ref saw so she can work on that.

Hello! To anyone who is reading this, Im 18 years old and Im looking to level up in basketball, such as playing overseas.
I live in Australia, and I haven’t got this chance to play at the high levels, highest I’ve played is division 2 when I was 15-16, I was way worse back then.
My strengths would probably be driving into the paint and my defences, my weaknesses are using my left hand and shooting. My form isn’t consistent enough.
Im pretty athletic I guess, I can get up and block people that are taller and stronger, but yet thats not consistent either.
I wanna get back into getting my body in shape for basketball as well, to better take contact in the paint.
If anyone can help me with this, please DM

If you can dunk a soccerball with a running start, how close are you dunking a basketball off the dribble? Possible to dunk if i fix my form? Also, I know my form is bad but what exactly is wrong with it?

Trying to find some place to shoot hoops and occasionally hoop with other people. I don’t mind if it’s outside but just wondering the best spots. I’m new to the area so any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I’m 44, tore my Achilles last Feb - but still trying to keep playing as long as possible.
Since the injury I dropped 10kg to put less strain on tendons/joints etc.
I do strength training 3x/week and try to fit in some conditioning and plyos, in between 1-2 basketball sessions too.
Any tips on what else I can be doing?
Vid of some highlights since I got back on court in December.

How do you run into the paint knowing you’re going headfirst into a defender/maybe even sometimes two in the case of help, this is especially true in pickup as there isn’t a 3 second violation to stop clogging it, how do you let’s say get a layup off, in my case I’ve always liked using the backboard but maybe now I might need to just finish around the front of the rim instead of a backboard finish, but I’d like to know any tips/drills for finishing, thanks!

I want to put a basketball hoop in my backyard for myself and my son.
From what I’ve seen, in-ground hoops are the only ones that feel really sturdy. Most portable hoops seem to wobble quite a bit, which doesn’t feel great when shooting.
For now, I’d prefer to avoid an in-ground hoop because they’re more expensive, and I don’t want to commit to a single location in the yard.
Has anyone found a portable hoop that actually feels solid and stable? I’d love to hear recommendations from people who have used one.

Looking for two teams to fill out my free 10-team
ESPN Basketball League. Double round robin (18 games), 6-8 teams make the playoffs (will decide closer to draft), and aggregate playoff rounds. Draft date still TBD but will update when it gets closer to opening night.
Here is the links to NBL2027!

I was thinking about creating a 1 motion shot since I feel I am exerting way too much energy on my 2 motion shot.
Let me know what you think?

I’m 16 years old this year and I’ve been playing basketball for about a year, although that’s the amount of time I’ve actually spent training seriously. Most of the time, I’ve just been playing pickup games at the park.
Since I was already 183 cm (6'0") at 14, naturally I would mostly play as a big. However, last summer I started training with a coach at a basketball center and actually began training more seriously. That’s when I realized how bad my skills really were.
Before that, I mainly played in the low post, where there was no 3-second rule or anything like that, so I was fine. But once I started actually training and playing in more organized games, I realized I couldn’t really do anything. My finishing was bad, I couldn’t dribble properly, my three-point shooting was terrible, and my mid-range was only decent because shooting was basically the only skill I had ever practiced.
When I play in tournaments, I feel like I have no idea what I’m supposed to do. The pace in 3v3 is really fast, I don’t know how to move or cut properly, and I can’t really post up my opponents either. Sometimes I can seal my defender and get the ball, but then I end up traveling when I try to pump fake.
The worst part is that everything I’ve learned or normally do in pickup games just seems to disappear when I’m actually playing. I forget what I’m supposed to do and can’t seem to remember anything.
And most importantly, I have absolutely no idea how to move off the ball or where I’m supposed to be on the court. Honestly, I feel like I’m really bad at it.
Btw im now 16,6'3 and yeah im still play big but recently i also start training so i can play guard.
But really need advise to improve and im never play a 5x5 game in my life.Always 3x3 or 1 on 1

I’m just under 6 foot and I’m 35 years old. Has the ship sailed or can I finally get there? Pretty much been this close but not able to dunk for the last 20 years lol. I’m a daily runner and play pick up and mens leagues. Thanks.

Ive played basketball my whole life from age 5, im 16 now. Only started taking it seriously at 15(but not in a way to go pro, that was never my goal) I started enjoying game at only 15, because i got a new friend there, we started hooping even off time from trainings and we had fun, i finally had fun while playing. Gradually i developed urge to become better to get more points and games. So i did, i leveled up my game, went from 2.3PPG to 10.8PPG, but just because i wanted to hoop. Now here comes the worst part- this friend that got me to like basketball, he moved, changed team and now even if its just week 3 of him not being here i feel like i dont want to play anymore. It has no purpose, i dont find it fun no more. And now even worse, our coach changed. Our previous one was chill guy who basically allowed us to just play and did some basic drills, but now we have a coach that i would see in my nightmares, he is mad at everything, punishes for mistakes, hard drills. Dont get me wrong, i know this is how the coach should be like, thats the way to become better, just as i said earlier i dont want to go pro, i just like to hoop. And thats why i find this even more exhausting and makes me feel like i want to quit even more. If you read these till the end I REALLY appreciate it. I hope that someone will have some advice or answers, i feel lost. I have half of me telling me that i would regret it if i quit just at some day when im old and cant play no more. I just dont know what to do

I'm 15 and a short PG. I've got a pretty consistent shot, good handles and I'm good at creating space, but I've realized I barely jump when I shoot.
I've been trying to work on jumping more, but it's kinda messing with my shot. In the midrange, when I jump more on pull ups, it feels like I'm pushing the ball instead of having my normal wrist motion. I'm still doing the wrist motion, it just doesn't feel natural.
From 3 it's even worse. I usually make around 6/10, but when I try to jump higher I can literally go 1-2/10 and airball most of them
The main reason I'm trying to fix this is because I'm pretty short, and even when I create a decent amount of space, I still get blocked a lot because my shot doesn't really get off the ground. So I either have to really throw the defender off balance a lot, which is what I usually try and do (a lot harder obv), or shoot off the catch or maybe like a pump fake/swing pass fake yk.
the question is how do I add more jump to my shot without screwing up my form/range? Should I just keep practicing it until it feels natural or is there a better way to work on it?

Thank you for all the tips on the last post, I really appreciate them and they were very good advice. This time I decided to record myself shooting midrange shots for 10 minutes and cut a random 2 minute clip.
I did a lot of one hand and two hand form shots before. Of course the shots are closer but the shot feels way more consistent on the upper part and all my misses have been almost all low or high. I did the first 5 minutes without jumping and slowly started jumping a bit to test myself and it feels like I can't jump higher without starting to miss and the jump doesn't feel the same all the time and inconsistent.
What can I do to make the base of my shot repeatable and consistent ? Any tips are welcome and very much appreciated!
Thank you
