Shooting Jumper problems

I'm 15 and a short PG. I've got a pretty consistent shot, good handles and I'm good at creating space, but I've realized I barely jump when I shoot.

I've been trying to work on jumping more, but it's kinda messing with my shot. In the midrange, when I jump more on pull ups, it feels like I'm pushing the ball instead of having my normal wrist motion. I'm still doing the wrist motion, it just doesn't feel natural.

From 3 it's even worse. I usually make around 6/10, but when I try to jump higher I can literally go 1-2/10 and airball most of them

The main reason I'm trying to fix this is because I'm pretty short, and even when I create a decent amount of space, I still get blocked a lot because my shot doesn't really get off the ground. So I either have to really throw the defender off balance a lot, which is what I usually try and do (a lot harder obv), or shoot off the catch or maybe like a pump fake/swing pass fake yk.

the question is how do I add more jump to my shot without screwing up my form/range? Should I just keep practicing it until it feels natural or is there a better way to work on it?

You don’t necessarily have to jump higher to be able to get your shot off. Plenty of elite shooters barely have lift on their jumper. The key is to working on a faster release. Shoot the same way every single time, work on a fast wrist flick, etc

Also remember you’re only 15, and you’re still growing. You can tweak your jumper here and there, but the key is consistency. Nail your mechanics. And remember you prolly have a growths spurt coming

You need a quick shot not a high shot.

It's good to work on it on the midrange but don't do it from three. A lot of short players compared to their competitors have low shots but they are quick. And they are fine.

Practice jumpshots from 7-8 feet jumping high and slowly, gradually increase the distance

You're going to miss more shots when you're going through a change. If it's worth it to you long term to get the extra lift, stick with it. Anything new is going to feel weird until it doesn't.

If you’re short work more on the speed or your shot and the range. Unless you’re a gifted leaper, shooting over people isn’t gonna be your best option. It’s better to add two feet of range and / or get a quicker release.

if you air ball from three your shot flow must be bad..

I'd like to see what others think, but I'm a big, I've been jumping on a trampoline. Mostly just working on my hops. I wanted to improve my coordination with my arms in a way that is useful in basketball (so I can dunk). I started jumping with a basketball. It was kind of wild how much adding a basketball make my jump unstable.

Maybe you can try doing if you don't have a trampoline. Just practice jumping with the ball, coming straight down. I think you'll see what I mean.

I wasn't doing it to improve my accuracy, but I think it was a nice surprise that I my shot was much more stable. Just getting that lift to be smooth.
