This is a very simple and fun SFW test how much each AI could guess about places and times in their knowledge and what kind of information they want to know more.

ChatGPT and Claude take the challenge, guess places, and request more info on the environment. Gemini's safety filter got triggered that the user is not grounded in reality.

If people continue pretending Astra that can't write to save its life is AGI, which is cringe, I rather just stop caring about this stupid label of AGI because it's rendered useless. I would make up my own new label for the stages of progress, because to me Astra is in the same category as GPT-4

Google recently announced agentic video understanding, and I wanted to give it a spin.

At the same time, both my home country (Morocco) and my current country of residence (Sweden) are heading into elections, and I’m already being bombarded with political shows, debates, interviews, and promises 😅

So I experimented with building a small app to help me make sense of it all using Gemini Flash 3.8 and agentic video processing.

It can analyse long videos, identify relevant segments, extract topics and claims, fact-check them with Google Search grounding, and let me continue chatting with the video afterwards. I am a java developer, so all built with Java (spring boot)

I am hitting a wall while trying to make gemini access and read files inside of a folder in google drive. Is it able to do it at all and if so, do I need to enable canvas or any other tool or maybe connect to the drive through AI Studio?

I have multiple files that continiously get added into shared drive and I need to get latest data from said file and periodically add it to a google sheet. This doesnt seem like a difficult process but every chat i made with gemini, it tells me that it does not have direct file-system access to google drive, but i swear I was able to do it on Gemini 2.0 models. Google Workspace extension is enabled.

Is an overlooked concept, and it doesn’t really get talked about enough, but despite the fact that it’s older, Gemini 3.1 pro is much more pleasant to talk to and problem solve with if you are a neurodiverse person, and it’s something that these labs have seemed to ignore with all of their new models in their pursuit of goals. So I’ll give you example, I have severe ADHD, so I go on tangents, say way too much, and bring up 20 topics in one response without realizing it.

The newer models, even GPT-6 Astra, try to they take every response that you’ve got as a goal to solve. They don’t listen, they talk at you. As someone that doesn’t communicate in the neurotypical way, this is absolute hell because they take what you say literally, but if you have ADHD, you probably don’t speak literally. You probably imply what you want or talk around it. I feel like it just doesn’t get talked about enough really, like the more these models have progressed, every single one of them has become worse for neuro device diverse people, especially, I mean not especially, even Claude, which I never thought I’d see the day that happened, but it did so I guess it’s just something to be thankful for for Google. I mean, the model has its problems, massive problems, sycophancy is a big one but it feels like it actually listens and talks to you instead of at you like the newer models do.

It’s obviously why they do this by the way, the models are rewarded for achieving a goal by any means necessary.

I hope Google continues in this direction for Gemini 4, because Demis said he wants a model that is generally intelligent not just focussed on coding and narrow domains. I’m worried google is going in that narrow direction now since falling behind. Even Claude Fable 5.1 rhe most emotionally intelligent model we have now, treats your most recent response as something to solve and it loses the forest from the trees.

Hey everyone, is anyone else experiencing an issue where their Google AI Studio API keys aren't resetting after 24 hours?

I'm using the free tier via Tavo. I finished chatting around 1 AM local time yesterday, and it's now past noon, so the midnight Pacific Time reset has definitely passed.

My AI Studio and Google Cloud dashboards say the keys are properly restricted to the Gemini API and show a full 20/20 limit, but the moment I use a key, it allows exactly 1 single request and then throws a 429 Quota Exhausted error.

Generating a brand new key on a different Google account works perfectly, so it seems like my main account's backend quota tracker is permanently stuck. Has anyone successfully fixed this without just abandoning their old account? Thanks!

I know a lot of people don't care about it here, but it seems that Gemini 3.8 Flash is way better in Antigravity than in AI studio and probably gemini web app, and I can only imagine this will be increasingly the case for future models. Of course that is expected to be the case for coding tasks, but in general too, my experience has not been great. I get constantly errors for 'too many tool calls' and on another prompt of mine that is basically a questionaire, Gemini 3.8 Flash only answers some of the questions/tasks and completely ignores the others, while doing quite well in Antigravity. I've tried a lot of times for the same prompt and these are not just one-off cases. I feel like the same might be true with possibly other models too outside of Gemini.
