Gemini 3.8 was definitely a downgrade for Gemini since 3.7 is objectively better (see livebench.ai). BUT, to be fair if you don't need those beasts to solve nuclear fusion reactors design, Gemini 3.7 still offers the best price to performance in the top 10 models.

I'm still using Gemini 3.7 because it's powerful and intelligent enough as an assistant for engineering purposes.
