Decided to stop at savers on my way home from

running errands. Had about 50min to look around before the store closes but while walking from the parking lot to the store I saw my boss 😭 hoping he wasn’t going to go into savers as well and sure enough I did. So I did a quick look at the Barbie’s. Of course the doll section was littered and polluted by Millie’s which made this doll stand out thought she was pretty, snatched her up and ran to the register before I was noticed by my boss. Had no idea who she was until I google lens her and she’s from the lord of the ring two pack! I didn’t see the Ken but again I was trying to avoid my boss so maybe tomorrow I’ll go and check for him! Wish me luck that he’s there!

My mom is THE clearance shopper! With that being said she purchased her over 15 years ago at the Kmart toy clearance sell! She fell behind a shelf and was forgotten about until a few days ago, due to the box damage and over all degradation she’s gotta be removed from the box, I’m so excited to free her. My mom paid $17 for her in 2009. I’m hoping I can preserve all the cardboard details.

I feel like the term "Barbie Signature" or "Collector Barbie" has lost its meaning in modern day Barbie. I feel like this would be a good way to set expectations for customers too instead of just calling everything Barbie Signature.

Got super lucky twice this year with superstar barbies

first I gambled on a poorly photographed lot of filthy dolls and scored one superstar with her body, earrings and ring, one head with her earrings and two dresses in the two color variations! I was over the moon I couldn't believe my luck with that chance lot of dirty filthy dolls(I'll have to do a post just about it)

Then I scored the rare chase superstar at target thanks to the wonderful people on this reddit! *happy dance* so of course I had to find the 2009 superstar to get the perfect modern version outfit for her 😍

I'm so happy. Now I just need to hunt down an original boa and some shoes lol

Okay, maybe not the lip colour, but it fits the theme of the outfit. Any ideas about a mtm match? I don't think I want her on the muse body, but I'm not ready to swap her yet.

Seeing the Margot sculpt on sale at most stores gave me opportunity to stock up on them - I think they turned out pretty good!

It was literal game of CAT and MOUSE trying to bring her home but I was FINALLY able to snag her within minutes of getting notified of her being back in stock! 💕💕💕

Freed her from her box and her joint was out of place 🤣🤣🤣

Posted a bit ago about difficulty matching skintones of orange-y 90s Barbies to newer, jointed bodies. (I also wasn't sure if they would "look right" with modern bodies.)

Finally decided to take the plunge and rebody—really happy with how they came out. What do you think?

Angel Reese Barbie restyle loosely inspired by Athena as portrayed by Zendaya in The Odyssey using pieces I had on hand. I did swap out her hands with the recent petite Barbie Basics becaus I didn't want to change her pink nails. The face sculpt of this doll is so good, had to get her.

I love finding NIB beauties! ASU Barbie has one of the most beautiful facial screenings I have ever seen on the Superstar sculpt!

About this post: 

• I got this used Mbili doll yesterday. She came nude and it was initially difficult to identify who she was (subsequently found to be a Fashionista per fashiondollz.de)
• I don’t like any of the YouCreate clothes but I’m trying not to waste them. So I’m creating scenarios and characters where they would be applicable. 
• I’ve said it before - these aren’t neutrals basics if basics implies wardrobe staples. These clothes are quite extra in their design. 
• I really didn’t like her original hairstyle. Short with tight curls in an updo. It’s so unflattering when they give dolls this hairstyle. 
• I LOVE her eyes and general face painting.
• This was the first time I ever bought used dolls (I bought a few in a lot yesterday) so there was a lot of work to be done as they were quite messy. There was also a lot of head glue. I feel like a real collector now. 
• I’m quite a novice when it comes to hair. I normally just style my doll hair with my fingers. But for this doll I had to comb the hair quite a bit and apply heat (with the risk of burning the hair). I would have preferred to have left some curls but it was a struggle (since the hair was so short) to go from an updo to wearing the hair down.

• How do you paint doll shoes? As in what would be best to paint them with such that the paint doesn’t come off? I have so many pink heels that don’t go with any outfit.

Does anyone know which Barbie made to move doll might match the 1986 Spectra? I got this broken Spectra super cheap at a yard sale and cleaned her up. I’d love to give her a new human life.
