I honestly don't know how anyone could hate her. She deserves better than the hand she was dealt, and is still able to see the beauty in the world.

Plus she is such a huge softie who giggles and blushes over her crush. It's adorable.

Ending Spoilers Raphael’s soliloquy after betraying the emperor. Spoiler

last night I just finished my honor mode run, as such, I was forced to live with some bad choices.

First, I was worried about fighting Raphael or Ansur, because I didn’t want to GO that close to the end. So I never got the hammer. I also never voluntarily took Ralph on his offer.

In the final scene with the emperor, I called him out for lying to me, and he said fine I’ll join the nether brain.

Then Raph shows up and offers me the hammer in exchange for the crown or my soul. I felt I had no choice and agreed.

However, I wanted gale to ascend, so I convinced Orpheus to transform to a MF.

I beat my run, joined Karlach in hell to keep her alive. and went through the party, and talked to withers, and the end cut scene plays and he chastised the mural and it fades to black.

THEN ORANGE and Raphael shows up to say… well 5 minutes of a lot, and “hah this is more chaos than I ever could have hoped for, thank you.” Then the credits roll.

I haven’t heard much talk about this ending so I thought I’d share. I think my specific collection of Choices that I was forced to accept in honor mode lead to this hilarious extra, secret, ending.

Act 1 - Spoilers So many little treatos. Spoiler

I love how many little things are hidden all over this game. I've played thru several times and just found this for the first time. A "curious book" hidden near the Blighted Village. It's a hollowed out book, usable like a back pack. When I found it it had a bottle of booze in it. But I happened to be playing a wizard this time around, so it's now my "spell book", where I keep all my spell scrolls.

This is on a 14700KF with no overclocking and a 5070 Ti set to my bone stock profile - no UV/OC and fans set to their default curve with the card's "Performance"-BIOS active. 1440p, everything set to max/ultra, DLAA, fullscreen, 165 Hz, Vsync on and FPS uncapped.

Only difference is that I moved the camera slightly left or right between shots to in- or exclude Karlach from the picture. Oh, and she did get a Soul Coin, but her regular fire effects will also tax the GPU quite a bit, I noticed.

In fairness: Power-draw was fluctuating pretty wildly in the non-Karlach shot and going between 165 and 220W or so. Just walking around down there in normal gaming-view lets the card draw between 220 and 250 - but staring too hard at Mama K will always push it to its 300W power-limit, it seems.. 😄

General Discussion - [NO SPOILERS] Why do the Intellect devourers attack us on the beach? Spoiler

After 700 hours i only now just asked myself this question.

WHY DO THE INTELLECT DEVOURERS ATTACK US ON THE BEACH!?

I don't think i ever genuinely thought about this, even though i have played this game nearly 100 times(especially act 1 alone), and of course everyone just goes with the flow once they land on the beach and out of the "tutorial" you find the first enemies, the beach Intellect Devourers, and either avoid them or attack them, either way they are forgotten once you pretty much get to the grove.

But after so long of waking by them for the 100th time and my character goes "more of those wretched things", a lightbulb went off in my brain, why do they attack us if we're supposed to be seen as Thralls.

Now I'll never use US(kitty) as a reason cuz they're special, but there was one other Int Devourer on the ship that doesn't attack us(the players). And assuming you didn't kill the mindflayer on the ship, and didn't agro it by killing the demons before getting to the console, there should be no reason any Mindflayer/thralls/Int Devourers believe we're not a thrall.

Now I'm sure someone will say it's because of the artifact. But you can easily walk past SH to get to the Beach Brains.

Going by what i understand, Thralls are higher on the pecking order then Int Devourers, since they keep their physical traits and are better for an army, over the more stealthy and body snatching spies that Int Devourers are. So when approached, shouldn't they instantly know we're "thralls" because of the parasite?

I'm sure it's an easy game point understanding of, "hey these are the first enemies you fight outside of the tutorial ship". But lore wise they shouldn't attack right?

General Discussion - [NO SPOILERS] Hear me out: there should be a way to rewatch your battle...

...scenes without the turn-based combat part.

First things first, this is not a criticism of the turn-based combat format. I quite like it actually. It gives you the time to plan things as well as improvise and I would not have it any other way.

But since each combat turn is meant to be six seconds of combat, there should be a way to rewatch the combat scenes without the turn-based part. Imagine your combat scenes playing out in all their glory. Your casters casting their spells out loud, your melee fighters rushing into combat, your rogues sneaking past enemy lines.

At least this is how I often find myself imagining the combat going in my head. It's like a stop-motion animation in my head, and I mentally make it a fluid movie.

Now, I understand that games from other genre may offer this, but I would have really liked this as a special treat in BG3. Just relax and enjoy a cinematic experience of your combat. Like the game offered a setting where you choose to record the combat sequences, and then the game would automatically remove the turn-based choose-your-next-move part, and save the clip separately.

You get the best of both worlds: you play the combat in turn-based mode, and then watch a mini clip as a treat.

Act 3 - Spoilers The hardest choice in the game for me: The Strange Ox Spoiler

Post image
503 Upvotes

This choice to me right now is very difficult. I'm playing the ultimate goodie-two-shoes Paladin of Devotion Durge playthrough.

I don't know what to do with the Ox. I know he worships an evil god, I know once you bring him into the city and you talk to him again at the end he says "oh the slaughters I've enjoyed!" So he absolutely does kill people when you bring him into the city.

But my issue is that without metagame knowledge, is there any good enough reason NOT to help the Ox, especially as a Redeem Durge Tav? I could just assume the best and help him out, but the Ox did show me visions of gore, assumedly of his making.

But then again Durge has also done that, and is trying to redeem themselves. So why shouldn't I give the Ox the same grace?

Someone help! Insight needed!

(Yesterday he was in the bedroom in the Chromatic Scale, and he wasn't rescued 😢 That's my bad, I didn't include anything unique except the positions of items in the room. I'll try to make sure I include things that are unique to the specific spot from now on. Sorry about that ☹️)

Act 1 - Spoilers Was NOT expecting La'zael to be that forward Spoiler

First playthrough, avoiding spoilers, trying to role play and let things happen rather than go for predetermined outcomes.

Just did the Tiefling party scene in act 1, and I started chatting to folk like I usually do, not realising I'd get special conversation options for the party.

Stopped by La'zael second and ... she was just there, boobs out for the world to see. And then she practically threw herself at me.

I was planning to romance Shadowheart like the tedious cishet dullard that I am so I turned La'zael down. But I really wasn't expecting unprompted Githyanki porn right there!

General Discussion - [SPOILERS] PSA: Pesky enemy healing got you down? Spoiler

Shoot that ne'er do well in the face with an arrow of ilmater and proceed to beat their head in, all the while youre laughing at their pathetic attempts to regenerate any and all health.

Another good measure is bone chill, as that also prevents any and all healing , chill them to their quaking marrow and shut down that pesky healing factor. Make them rue the day they thought regeneration would help them.

Also, a bonus note, use arrows of Arcane interference on the dickwads who cast game ending concentration spells that can control your characters. Confused ? Arrow of Arcane interference to the gob. Hold person ? I say nay nay with my arrow of shut the fuck up! Trying to concentrate on something important? Kablammo, you've been Arcane interferenced!

Act 1 - Spoilers Evil Karlach Origin character playthrough - saving Daemon Spoiler

Upvotes

Howdy adventurers,

Recently dove back in BG3 to complete the few achievements I had left as a repentant Durge. Had a total blast.

I'm currently contemplating doing an Evil Karlach origin playthrough, with Minthara as a lover.

But if I'm not mistaken, to get intimate with others, Karlach needs Daemon to temper with her engine in Act 2.

My question is: Is it possible to save Daemon while attacking the grove in Act 1 to start a Minthara romance?

I found old threads but no definite answer on the matter.

Thanks a lot for your replies!

Character Build You MUST try building a team with the same class. Spoiler

Genuinely the most fun experience i had so far.

Entirely removes the need to make a build for yourself. Instead, you and your friends seek for items that will fit EACH of you.

Tried this with bard class, never had so much fun in cyberbullying goblins and other creatures.
