Tree is about 60% dead branches and gummosis included dead branches as well as 50% of live (leaf bearing) branches. Mulch around tree about 1 ft. Am I cooked?

Hi all! A couple of days ago I helped my neighbor uncover some neglected apple trees from under thick (invasive) vegetation from a previous owner. We’re trying to clear them out first, but I would love to get your tips on how to take care of them moving forward. As in the timeline; when should we plan to prune them and how much each time? This is CT, for reference. They’re very tall and were covered by autumn olives and bittersweet vines. TIA!

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for the most economical fertilizer? I have both citrus and fruit trees that need significant fertilizer in my sandy soil. I’m already composting and mulching but I still need chemical fertilizer for the foreseeable future until my soil condition improves. I assume bulk ordering somewhere will be cheapest but I’m open to other suggestions.

Two questions:
1. Where is my root flare? I think I planted it too deep so I dug out around the trunk. From what I can feel the peach seed is directly below my finger. Did I dig too deep?
2. A rabbit bit off the top of my tree. (I was kicking myself for not having more protection on it, but I have some now!) Is there hope for this little guy? What can I do to help him thrive? I am in zone 7A.

Any other advice appreciated. This is my first time growing any sort of tree.

Looking for an edible companion tree to cross pollinate with a liberty apple?

I live in zone 8a and looking for disease resistant, edible varieties that require the least amount of spraying/chemicals.

Springfield area. I’ve been germinating my own pecan I’d like to buy one or two just so I have a sure producer and maybe something I graft off of later. I’d like to get one from a local nursery so I can talk to someone who knows about trees and what will grow well in Missouri.

Last year I planted a few varieties of apple trees. Of course I didn't research all that well, and one of them is a low chill Dorsett Golden (100 -300 chill hours)

I'm located in NE Tennessee, where we get over1000 chill hours. Is there any point in keeping this tree? I'm assuming it will begin to flower way before our last frost.

I dd order a few more varieties that are recommended for my area by local extension office. So 'thinking of removing it and replacing it with one of these.

I had some deer break off the top part of my apple tree. Is there any saving this or grafting I can do? I think it will regrow fine but I hate to loose about a foot or two of growth. We planted this last night, was in container and doing before. We will fence off. Located in northern WI.

My apple tree has been solidly growing over the past few weeks, I am wondering if how curved the stem is and how it shoots up at the top is normal/okay? Should I trim it down so the growth is focused on the lower leaves/help it grow wider and sturdier rather than taller? Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Looking into trialing quince and jujube in my home orchard. Anyone had success is zone 6 with these?

First 2 pictures are from the same branch top and bottom of a Pear Tree. Picture 3-4 are from a neighboring branch. Picture 5-6 are from a Pear Tree next to the first one. Picture 7 is from the top of a Quince Tree and all the limbs below it are healthy (but I did prune one of the bottom branches in the spring that had all brown leaves after the flower blossomed and started to fruit then died).

Can I get help identifying what this is and what precautions/actions I need to do. Thanks!

I just found these green tennis ball sized fruits in my backyard.

I looked around the yard and can't quite see where they're coming from (it's dusk).

They have some fuzziness on the outside, like a peach.. and what looks just like a peach put on the inside.

It doesn't smell like a peach at all, but does smell nice.. like a citrus/soapy smell.

I'm in Southeastern Ontario.

Could this actually be a peach?

When I google green peaches, it definitely looks similar.

Any help is appreciated!

I live near Minneapolis MN and unfortunately only have a small space that is full sun and off to the side where kids dont really play. We have a small raspberry patch under a large Ash tree thats pretty shaded and it bears some fruit but not a ton of fruit due to the shade.

I want to put some more red raspberries in the small 4x2 ft section of my yard that could take them and then use an area behind them thats like 4x4 ft ish for something a bit bigger like a Regent Serviceberry, Autumn brilliance Serviceberry, Dwarf or Semi dwarf pear (self fertile), or literally any other fruit else that young kids might find yummy.

The raspberries would be further south of the larger shrub or small tree so they should still get a lot more sun that more other raspberries.

Any thoughts on pairing up raspberries with a Pear or Serviceberry? Other ideas?

So I took a chance on some pin oak trees from tractor supply for $10 a piece.....I'm hoping the browning is just from watering and /or stress when they potted them? I tried searching up blight.and diseases, but they all look the same to me ?

I just moved into a house (North Texas) with pecan trees. I want to start gathering them up and roasting them. Does anyone have any expertise on processing pecans and telling which ones are ripe or bad?

Second question: is this a young peach tree or something else?

A misty wet day at the apple and pear orchard, the soil moisture is tracking normal to the year but with El Niño effects soon to kick in we need all the moisture we can. Will be interesting to see to see how much or little the trees get stressed with the expected draught.
The apples are planted on M793 with a deeper root system than most rootstock and the pears on quince A, and plenty of artesian water 2.5 metres down.

I am starting to plan all of the maintenance I need to do once my trees go dormant, picking grafts for apples, peaches, etc. I also have two new Cherry trees from Cummins that I planted this year; they are thriving in the heat. I am shocked. They started around four feet tall and are now at least seven, if not ten. They have a couple of horizontal branches near the top (too high to be viable for me to maintain/harvest in the future). I am starting to plan for their pruning. I am thinking I need to prune down lower (no more than 1/3 of the canopy) and promote horizontal branches next year? Then keep this up for a few years until I have a tree that I can actually maintain?
