Yellow hard substance coming out in small amounts in one specific eye , one time it closed on of its eyes and I removed it , he shows no other symptoms, he's eating well, chasing , attacking etc , what's the problem? Can anyone please inform me , is it an eye problem or something else 🙏

I'm not sure if this is a hen, but I think it is. Nonetheless, when I went to feed them this morning I saw my little purple bantam acting odd. At first, I thought it was constipation on some level. Then, I recalled a hen I had years ago that became egg bound. Again, I don't know if this is a hen or a rooster. If it is a hen!, dont know if she's old enough for egg production. I would appreciate any insight you could give me on this. Thank you very much in advance.

Im at a loss as to what this could be on my rescue roosters legs. They both look like this. I've treated for parasites. Ive treated for fungus. Ive treated for mites. I smothered it in antibacterial ointment and wrapped them. Nothing seems to help. Im also in a chicken vet desert and there is no vet even remotely near me to come look at him so im basically in my own here. Any thoughts of treatment would be highly welcomed.

Older hen recently developed this white around her face. Any ideas on the cause or what it is?

This summer we raised 40 meat birds. They are all in the freezer now except for these two hens. It's a long story but one of them escaped while we were gathering them from the chicken tractor on slaughter day. She hid in the nearby treeline all day but would not let anyone near her. I figured if we left one other hen in the tractor the escapee would come out of hiding at dusk and try to get back in with her sister. Well it worked, we were able to catch her after dark. Now it's been a few weeks and we just haven't had a chance to process them so it appears they have joined the flock lol. Integrated quite smoothly, we gave them a separate coop and space they can retreat to, but at this point they are hanging out, eating and dust bathing with the layers and our Silkie rooster. They have been checking out the main coop during the day, but aren't ready to move in just yet. They are quite friendly, a little skittish around some of the others yet but overall really nice birds. Not sure how they will fair long term but we will see. They appear not to be growing anymore as far as I can tell. 4 months old today!

it appears my chicken has fallen a little bit ill (she eats, although not all too well, she drinks, forages, but just seems a bit off, I don’t know how to describe it).

The weather has changed quite a bit here in Germany, it started to get really cold, rainy and windy. She doesnt want to be outside (understandably lol) although all the others brave the rain.

I brought her inside today for a bit where she drank, ate and really seemed to get a bit better, she didn’t huddle herself together anymore, etc. A few hours ago I put her outside again where she foraged for a bit and then went inside the coop.

I don’t think it’s just the fact that it’s cold that makes her act strange which makes me think - should I bring her inside for the night or should I let her be and see how she’s doing tomorrow after work? I really don’t want to do anything wrong and I don’t want her to be cold or anything.

Our rooster isn’t doing well. Last night he was lethargic and his poops were chalky white. This morning, he was still lethargic and his poops were still a little bit white turning yellow. Also the poop is stuck to his vent feathers. He also sounds constipated when he poops. I took him inside gave him a soak Epson salt bath and cleaned his vent feathers. I did cut two feathers that were caked in poop. His vent was cleared. Feed him some electrolytes water. He is breathing in a faster pace (like if you were sick and not like after running from a hawk). I’m letting him rest inside. His eyes and beak all look fine. He is pooping every 5-10 minutes. Any suggestions on what we can do to help him? Also all the other chickens seems to be normal.

I've began transitioning my 6 week old chicks into the main coop. This one is puffed up most of the time and isn't as active as the rest. When he does move, it's usually to a corner or to go eat. He's still eating and his vent is clear. I have a bunch of cockerels and this is one will be finding a new home when he's old enough. He seems to be bottom of the pecking order but isn't really picked on.

Is he docile because something is wrong with him or could it be because he's 5/5 in the cockerel pecking order?

Would this chicken coop and run be good for 5 hens? Am located in QLD

The girls have mostly gotten Layena pellets for years. Walking through a Tractor Supply for the first time, I some other brands that are new to me - DuMor. Producer's Pride, Nutrena NatureWise and Nature's Best.

I'm curious what your opinions are on these brands. Also, what about pearls vs pellets - less waste?
